Drive to see the gigantic cat statue, the mascot of Kuching city at Padungan before cruising through China Town. Stop at the TuaPek Kong Temple, one of the oldest temples in Sarawak. Pass by the traditional Malay houses built on stilts. Winding through the heart of the city, look out for a majestic looking Astana, the former palace of White Rajah, but now the official residence of the Governor of Sarawak, the old Colonial Law Court House. Then, pass through the Clock Tower and a granite obelisk built in memory of Rajah Charles Brooke. Visit to the Urang Sarawak Museum. Return to hotel. You will have the chance to observe the Semi-Wild Orang Utans coming out of the forest for the feeding time. Visitors are allowed to study and observe the orang utans at a distance. Depart park and transfer back to hotel. (No meal) Wetland Wildlife Safari (Duration: 4 hrs) Rate: RM243 per person (SIC - Min of 2) / Pick up: 4pm Late afternoon, depart on a drive to the jetty located within Kuching Wetlands National Park. This tour takes you to cruise along the mangrove river towards the South China Sea in search of the elusive Irrawaddy dolphins (sightings depend on tidal conditions). Continue cruise along the river in search of the fascinating wildlife inhabiting the river mouths and mangrove forests. This is where you begin with a thrilling experience when sighting any estuarine crocodiles. Cruise along the mangrove to look for the Proboscis monkeys. The tour concludes with an amazing experience gazing at the fireflies that light up the darkness on mangrove trees (weather permitting). After cruise, return to hotel. 2 Bako Wildlife Encounter (Duration: Day Trip) Rate: RM275 per person (SIC- Min 2 person) /Pick up: 8.30am Morning, pick up from your hotel in Kuching and depart for a 45 minute drive to Bako Fishing Village. Continue by boat for a 30 minute cruise along the coast to reach Bako National Park. Visit the Park s information centre. Follow the trails to look for proboscis monkeys and other wildlife. After lunch, explore the park through monstrous rainforest trees for bird watching and other wildlife. Journey back to the jetty for boat ride to Bako Village and return to your hotel. (Lunch included) Wetland Cruise & Satang Island (Duration: Day Trip) Rate: RM440 per person (SIC-Min of 2) / Pick up: 8am Morning, depart on a drive to the jetty located within Kuching Wetlands National Park. This tour takes you to cruise along the mangrove river towards the South China Sea in search of the elusive Irrawaddy dolphins (sightings depend on tidal conditions) to Satang Island. The island is part of Talang Satang National Park and is protected for the conservation of Sarawak Sea turtles. Visit the turtle hatchery and learn about the conservation work being done to help these endangered sea turtles. Enjoy a pack lunch. Visiting both caves enables you to marvel at the sight of the wonderful limestone formations of stalactites and stalagmites including the beautiful montane vegetation of the limestone hills. The caves are also rich with the local folklore. Fairy cave has a number of shrines and altars belonging to the Taoist Chinese who regularly make offerings to the peculiar formations in this cave and Wind Cave, which is located a few kilometers away is named for the constant cool breeze that blows through it. 4 Food Tour (Daytrip) Heritage Walking + Food Tour (Duration: 4 hrs) Rate: RM155 per person (SIC-Min of 2) / Pick up: 8.30am This walkabout tour commences at the Kuching waterfront, with a visit to the TuaPek Kong Chinese temple and Chinese Historical Museum where the historical Fort Margherita can be viewed on the other side of the Sarawak River. From the temple you will walk through Carpenter Street, consisting of old shop houses on both sides of the narrow street passage. At the end of the street junction you pass by the General Post Office. Also situated around this area are historical buildings and monuments built during the era of the Brooke dynasty which consists of the Round Tower, the Pavilion, the Brooke Memorial Monument, the Square Tower and the Old Court House. Proceed to India Street, a pedestrians shopping mall specializing in local and imported textiles. From India Street, walk through a narrow covered passageway where you will find a Masjid India on your left with very low walls built sometime in the mid 19th century. Just as you reach the end of the passageway, your senses will detect the slight aroma of Indian spices which navigates you to Gambier Street. Proceed to Brooke Dockyard and Dockyard lane passing by the Old Fire Brigade Station (known now as the open air market). Make a stop at the Open Air hawker stalls for a coffee / tea break with local steam buns. Our last stop is a direct walk pass the Merdeka Square to the St Thomas s Cathedral for a short visit. The tour would then conclude at the Urang Sarawak Museum.Pick up from the Sarawak Museum and then proceed for lunch at a local cafe serving authentic Sarawak hawker food such as KoloMee (Noodles), Sarawak Laksa etc. After lunch, make a stop at the Cat Monument at Padungan (Chinatown) and have a stroll around the local shops here. (Lunch included) Siniawan Food Market (Available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday only) Siniawan is an old and once forgotten town 21 km away, an old town rich in culture, history and heritage values. Recent years, efforts have been made to revive the traditions and cultures as well as the night market of this old town which is seeing results and tourists are now flocking in during the weekends and local economy is greatly improved. Siniawan town has a different meaning to most people in Kuching, it is famously known as the Siniawan Night Market. Today Siniawan is not only a historical town, but a quaint village with a thriving bird s nest business. The residents have also started a regular weekend night market. The 2 main rows of wooden shop-houses have been modified into hawker food stalls during the weekends in the evening and tables and chairs are set right in the middle of the road in between. Duration : 3-4 hours Departure Time : 6:00 pm (Weekend Only) Pick up from hotel and depart to Siniawan old town to enjoy a moment of old town feel and also to visit the food market. Set up by the folks / kapitan, between two rows of wooden shops, you will find a stretch of stalls selling local food and cakes. Its not only Chinese food, you will get Malays and natives selling there too. The old quiet bazaar is brought to life every weekend. Local folks sing on stage, red lanterns stringed from one end to the other. The night market is known for its delicacies like glutinous rice in pitcher plant, grilled fish, seafood, BBQ chicken wings, satay, kuih and many more. Upon arrival at MongkosBidayuh village, check in to your room in the village guesthouse or room in one of the village houses or longhouse. Lunch will be served.after lunch, tour the longhouse, meet the villagers and learn about the culture and lifestyle of the Bidayuhs, who are the second largest Dayak tribe in Sarawak. There will be three stop-overs en-route at Serian a Dayak trading town, a Chinese farmhouse to see how pepper and cocoa are grown and Lachau for lunch. On arrival at the river jetty, proceed by motorized longboat up river to the Longhouse. Overnight Mecure Hotel Superior.(D) Day 2 :Island Trip Pick up from Mercure hotel and ransfer to jetty for a 20-minutes boat ride to one of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park islands for a day of relaxation and explore jungle trails on your own. Snorkel in crystal clear water among coral reefs and rainbow-coloured fishes before we return to Kota Kinabalu at 1500 hours. Includes: Mask, snorkel, life jacket, towel, picnic box Day 3 :Kinabalu Park & Poring Canopy Pick up from hotel and transfer overland approximately 2 hours overland to the foothills of Mt. Kinabalu at 1500m above sea level. Have a short stop at PekanNabalu market to savour local fruits in season. Visit the Kinabalu Natural History Gallery and Mountain Garden in Kinabalu Park Headquarters. If weather permits, take a guided walk on one of the trails in the cool surrounding to explore the montane forest. Continue 40 km overland journey to Poring at 1,500ft asl. Explore tropical rainforest among the jungle trail leading to the treetop canopy walkways (excludes camera/video fee) suspended 41 meters across above the forest floor.
