Be there or be square! We are excited about our totally awesome upcoming event. All Villa Group-affiliated Vacation Club members are invited to attend. Your resort team will present the latest updates and you will also have opportunities to meet one-on-one with representatives to have your personal questions answered. PLUS visit with old friends and new at our fabulous social and fundraising events with delicious food and entertainment. Don t miss it! Important Change in Format: The UVC Board of Directors of election will be moved to a separate business-only meeting in September. There will be no social events at this 2 hour business meeting; the only agenda items will be the election and a brief Treasurer s report. We will be sending separate information about this business-only meeting which will include your ballots. Do not plan to bring your ballot to the October event as no election will be held. REGISTRATION INFORMATION: All events will be held at the Villa Del Palmar Flamingos in Nuevo Vallarta, October 27-28, The Member Social is free to all members, but advanced online registration is required in order to monitor capacity in the conference center. Each membership is limited 2 (two) person(s) complimentary for your first membership account only, regardless of how many points/weeks you own. We have consistently run into challenges with having adequate space for our members, so this year, no guests will be allowed until all members have been registered. We will allow members to register up to two weeks prior to the event. Guests will be placed on a waiting list and we will begin to confirm guests two weeks prior to the meeting. If there are guest spots available we will allow a maximum of two guests per membership on a firstcome, first-served basis for a fee of $125 per person. The guest fee covers meals and other expenses. 3 Eagle s Wings Foundation Member Advisory Committee Update Charitable Giving is Two Important Policies Not Just for the Wealthy! The Member Advisory Committee is charged with providing feedback to the Board and Management, and they have identified two ongoing challenges that detract from the comfort of all members vacation experiences. We ask that our members keep these policies in mind when you are vacationing at any of our beautiful resorts. No one goes through life alone, and all of us have needed help along the way, whether it s physical, financial or spiritual. More than 80% of Americans contribute to nonprofit groups of their choice throughout their lifetimes. But, only around 8% of people continue this support through a charitable bequest. Your planned gift can help Eagle s Wings Foundation continue its important work helping orphanages, education programs, homes for the elderly, medical and dental programs and much more. There are different charitable gifts to meet your needs. Charitable tax credits, probate taxes, annuities, trusts, and other considerations for planned giving vary depending on your location and financial situation. Talk to your attorney or financial planner about the strategy that makes the most sense for you. You can give back to those less fortunate, many of whom live just a few miles from the resorts. Gifts large and small are important. Whatever the amount, the intent is the same to help others. No amount is too small. What a meaningful way to thank the beautiful country of Mexico for all your years of memorable and happy vacations! Lounge Chairs: Lounge chairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis ONLY. There is no saving chairs for later. We have found this is the most fair policy, as every member and guest has worked hard to earn this precious vacation time, and everyone deserves an equal chance to enjoy a relaxing day at the pool. Chairs are monitored, and unattended items left on the chairs will be removed by the staff. We appreciate your cooperation, your courtesy and your patience with the pool concierge and security staff as it is their responsibility to enforce this policy. No-Smoking: The resort units, pool area, restaurants, and lobby are non-smoking areas. There are designated smoking areas on each property. Smoking on balconies is permitted if it does not bother your neighbors; if complaints are received you will be asked to refrain from smoking on the balcony and you will need to use the designated smoking area. Smoking in rooms will result in a fine of US $150 to cover cleaning and sanitizing costs. 4 5

4 On Call Travel Protection On Call Travel Protection offers emergency air evacuation services to you or your family while on vacation or exchange, plus other valuable medical and travel related services. For Gold and Villa Preferred Access members only: the standard program is included as part of your membership. Members may upgrade to the full insurance program for only $15 additional at the time you pay your maintenance fee. For non Gold and VPA Members, you may purchase this insurance for $ Make a Good Referral Promotion Vacation Great! In a time of medical crisis, member Stephen Sherner was glad that this important benefit was available to him. Here is a summary of his recent experience, and how On Call was there to assist him: I had the very unfortunate experience of becoming seriously ill shortly after arrival in Cabo before New Year s. I was treated by the doctors from the Centro Medico Cabo San Lucas with whom the Villa Group in Cabo has a relationship, who at first made house calls to the resort. Ultimately, I spent a week in their clinic. The doctors all spoke acceptable English and served as translators to their staff as necessary. Cash was required to pay for the house call and a credit card deposit was necessary at the clinic. Their facilities were very clean and their staff competent. Once admitted to the clinic in Cabo my wife contacted On Call. They were very responsive and helpful. Forms were sent to Villa del Arco to allow access to my medical information. They had nearly daily contact with the clinic and my wife on diagnosis and prognosis, and whether medical evacuation was needed. On Call put my wife in contact with our primary insurer to open a case file, and are sending us forms to submit a reimbursement claim for any medical or extra transport costs we incurred that our primary insurer doesn t cover - nearly $16,000 in Cabo! By the way, when looking at the medevac options it would have cost $5,000 to nearest US facility and over $10,000 to Mayo. The management and staff at VDA were very concerned, supportive, and helpful throughout my ordeal. UVC went above and beyond to help us change and cancel reservations we obviously couldn t use. My recovery is progressing well and we re already discussing reservations for early 2016 as we miss our Villa del Arco friends and the warm weather in Cabo!" -Steve Sherner, Member Advisory Committee Bring a friend on your next visit to Mexico! Boasting a wealth of experience in hotel leadership positions, Mr. Gallardo s most recent senior management post was as Managing Director for Pearl Hospitality, where his contributions were significant in the company s successful expansion into the luxury market. Previously, he was employed by Fairmont Hotels & Resorts for twelve years in a variety of management and executive roles. Mr. Gallardo is also a graduate from Nova University, USA, where he served as an adjunct professor. I am thrilled to be joining the Villa del Palmar team, said Gallardo of his appointment.
