5 Sleeping Shark Cove 9 minutes/4 miles This is a popular diving destination which has baffled marine biologists everywhere. Sharks must constantly be in motion in order to breathe through their skins, but in this cave, sharks can use bubbles from underwater springs to breathe, allowing them to sleep completely still. The cave allows divers to get close to the resting sharks. Nurse sharks are most commonly seen in the cave and, although they are harmless, it is exhilarating to be able to swim so close to them. North Beach 10 minutes/4 miles Located on the island s northern region, less than a mile from the downtown area. At this beach you can rent all the equipment you ll need for windsurfing. Bike Tour to the Temple of Ixchel - Upon landing on the island, the Spanish decided to call it Isla Mujeres (Island of Woman) after the many carvings of woman found. Zoëtry Villa Rolandi offers a tour to the Temple of Ixchel and some of the best cliff views on the southern part of the island. Tour is approximately 1 hours and 30 minutes. Ultramar ferry is the alternative in case Zoëtry Villa Rolandi s yacht is not allowed to sail due to weather conditions or the closure of the port for small vessels.
