From the high alpine Passo Resia at 1455m you descend all the way down to the sub- Mediterranean shores of Lake Garda. En route you will witness grand views of the Alps and Dolomites and pedal through premium vineyards and lush apple orchards. Visit charming towns such as Silandro, with the highest church tower in South Tyrol, and elegant Merano boasting a still very traditional atmosphere. In Bolzano savour a creamy cappuccino and enjoy magnificent views on the surrounding hills covered with vines and the rugged Dolomite spires in the background. In Trento make sure to visit the Piazza Duomo with its beautiful fountain and the impressive Buonconsiglio castle. Endpoint is the town of Riva del Garda situated on the north shore of gorgeous Lake Garda. Route Day 1 Arrival in Silandro Arrive in Silandro (Schlanders in German), chief town of the Venosta Valley and settle-in at your cozy family run hotel. Then, leisurely stroll through town to discover its many sights like the steep church tower, the highest of South Tyrol.

2 Day 2 Transfer to Passo di Resia and ride to Silandro (50 km) After breakfast, at 10.00am, you will be picked up and transferred to the starting point of the day s ride at the Passo Resia (about 1 hour trip) where you will have your bike fitting and trip briefing. Coasting along Lake Resia you will pass by the submersed church tower pointing out above the water surface. Wind down on a panoramic bike path amidst alpine meadows, passing through beautiful villages like Burgusio and Clusio. Around lunchtime you arrive at the impressive fortified town of Glorenza. A quiet cycle path along the Adige River takes you through endless apple orchards to the village of Lasa, where you can visit the marble museum. From here it s only a short stretch to Silandro. Challenge: 4 hours, 50 km, 350m climb, 1300m descent Day 3 Ride from Silandro to Merano (38 km) Descending through the Venosta Valley you ride amidst the marvellous scenery of snow-capped mountains and endless pine forests. Stop for a cappuccino in the lively town of Naturno and watch the local life. The bike path then winds down a narrow gorge before entering the broad glacial valley. Reach Merano, a famous Spa town since IX century. Princess Sissi spent long periods of time convalescing thanks to the area s particular microclimate. During the afternoon go for a stroll along the beautiful promenade and discover the picturesque hidden corners of this magical place. Challenge: 3 hours, 38 km, 150m ascent, 470m descent Day 4 Ride from Merano to Caldaro via Bolzano (48 km) Riding in between apple orchards you reach the town of Bolzano, the majestic capital of South Tyrol. From here the bike path heads south winding through rolling vineyards leading you up past the village of Caldaro (Kaltern in German) to the shores of homonymous lake. Challenge: 4 hours, 48 km, 340m ascent, 475m descent Day 5 Ride from Caldaro to Trento (53 km) From the crystal clear waters of Lake Caldaro the ride follows the panoramic Strada del Vino (Wine road) through numerous small wine villages. From here you descend into the Adige valley and enter the cycle path that takes you to Trento. Along the way why not try one of the Bici Grill (cyclists bar) and visit century old villages like Egna and Salorno. Arrive in Trento and spend your free afternoon exploring the city. Your accommodation is in the old city centre. Challenge: 4.5 hours, 53 km, 295m ascent, 325m descent Day 6 Ride from Trento to Riva del Garda (48 km) The first part of the route follows a bike path along the blue-green waters of the Adige River to reach the town of Rovereto (30km), then head westward gently climbing till you reach a small pass with stunning views on Lake Garda. A short descent brings you to the old town of Riva del Garda Riding through narrow medieval alleys you reach your hotel. Challenge: 4 hours, 48 km, 150m ascent, 500m descent Day 7 Optional extra Day: Circular ride in Riva del Garda For those who wants to cycle more, it is possible to book an extra night in Riva del Garda and make this spectacular loop ride leading you into the Valle dei Laghi (Valley of the Lakes). The nearby elegant town of Arco, a lovely quaint town filled with palm trees, situated on the slopes of a steep rock formation with a medieval castle perched on top. On a bicycle path amidst apple orchards and vineyards you cycle onward to the Lago di Cavedine, a beautiful alpine lake with crystal clear waters. This is a great place to stop for lunch while you enjoy the scenery of the imposing rock faces of Monte Brento and Monte Casale rising up hundreds of meters. You then traverse the rockslide area of the Marocche di Dro and reach Arco once again. Ride to Torbole and along the shores of Lake Garda until you arrive in Riva del Garda. Day 8 Arrivederci Riva del Garda! The trip and our services end after breakfast. You can depart from Riva del Garda to Rovereto by bus or taxi, unless you have pre-booked a private transfer. From Rovereto train station you can easily reach your departing airport.

3 Accommodation All accomodations are carefully selected because of their location, atmosphere and/or unique services. All rooms are ensuite. We choose comfortable 3* hotels where all rooms have private en-suite bathroom. You can find below the standard hotels of this trip. If a hotel is fully booked, then we will book a similar one for you and inform you about the alternative booked. Extra overnight: You can book additional night(s) at any of the accommodations along the way. Hotel Goldene Rose - Silandro Hotel Goldene Rose***S is a family run hotel centrally located in SIlandro and it offers wellfinished, elegant and spacious rooms with free Wifi, TV and some of these have a balcony. Breakfast is very good and the restaurant offers typical local dishes. Owners are welcoming. Structure also have a Spa. Hotel Garni Zima - Merano This hotel is a little bit far from Merano's city center and it offers welcoming and well-finished rooms with satellite TV, free Wifi, private bathroom, some of these have balcony, telephone. The structure has a relax area with sauna, jacuzzi and swimming pool. Breakfast is rich with fresh fruits, homemade cake and biological products. Hotel Mendelblick - Caldaro Hotel Mendelblick is located above the historical town of Caldaro and it offers well-finished, spacious and welcoming rooms. These have private bathroom, TV, telephone and some of these have a balcony. The structure has a swimming pool and a sauna in the garden. Highly breakfast rich. Hotel America - Trento Hotel America is centrally located at 2000 meters only from train station. Hotel has spacious, wellfurnished rooms with air conditioning/heating, TV, free Wifi, electric kettle. Buffet breakfast is very good and abundant, both savoury and sweet. Staff is welcoming and helpful. Hotel Portici - Riva del Garda Hotel Portici is located in the principal square of Riva del Garda at 20 meters from the lake's shores. The building offers a restaurant-pizzeria and a wellness centre with fee. Rooms are modern, elegant with free Wifi, air conditioning, satellite TV, minibar, private bathroom. 4 You can start on any Saturday, subject to availability, between April and October. If you are at least 4 participants, you can start any day of the week, subject to availability, with no extra cost. Supplements will apply for less than 4 people starting any other day of the week. IMPORTANT: luggage is guaranteed to be delivered by 4pm The best airports to fly into are Innsbruck (INN), Verona (VRN) and Venice (VCE). All three are serviced by both major and low cost international carriers. Arrival in Silandro If you arrive from either Verona (VRN) or Venezia (VCE), reach the central Railway Station Verona Porta Nuova by bus/train. Once there, you can reach Silandro by train, changing in Bolzano and Merano. If you arrive from Innsbruck Airport (INN), reach the Railway Station Innsbruck HBF (Hauptbahnhof). Once there, take a train to Silandro (change in Brenner, Merano or Bolzano). Departure from Riva del Garda On departure, you always have to take a public bus in Riva del Garda to reach the train station in Rovereto. Trains connect Rovereto to Verona Porta Nuova and Venezia Mestre or Santa Lucia train stations. If flying from Innsbruck airport (INN), take a train from Rovereto to Innsbruck. You can check train timetables on: (from/to Innsbruck) (Süd Tirol) If you come with your own car, please note that the hotels we use in Silandro do not have a private parking lot of their own, but there are free park areas in town.
