1 Hotels in Indian Country Hotels are essential to the resort experience. They offer a comfortable environment where guests can relax after an exciting day of gaming and also provide a number of amenities to enhance their visit. In Part II of this series, we take a look at more hotels from Native properties across the nation Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa Rancho Mirage, CA Year Hotel Opened: 2008 Number of Rooms: 340 (24 suites, 2 presidential suites) What makes a great escape? At Agua Caliente, it begins with luxurious guest rooms. Each of the hotel s 340 rooms are generously appointed with cozy bedding, flat-screen televisions, sunken tubs, and more at an affordable price. The hotel has been rated 4-Diamonds by AAA for two years in a row, thanks to outstanding room product and excellent customer service. The resort and its amenities are equally impressive. Sunstone Spa features phenomenal massage and skin treatments, a salon, fitness center, and private outdoor pool. At the main hotel pool, guests can also relax in fully loaded cabanas with flat screen TVs, mini fridges, lounge chairs, and misters! The poolside bar is a hot spot for drinks, lunch, and Friday night pool parties. Did we mention perfect weather? That s on the house. But it s when the sun goes down that the action really heats up Agua Caliente. The casino is a player s paradise, offering 71,000 sq. ft. of the area s best gaming with slots, table games, live poker, and the loosest video poker in town. The casino just recently expanded its poker room to include 18 tables, and has garnered rave reviews for its increased tournament and promotion calendar, as well as sports viewing parties. The final piece to this fantastic resort is The Show. This multi-level, 2,000- seat venue opened in 2009 and has played host to a lineup that reads like a hall of fame: Tony Bennett, Martina McBride, Matchbox Twenty, John Fogerty, Ringo Starr, and many more have all performed here. The Show includes 12 luxury boxes offering catering, private bars, bottle service, and amazing views of the stage! 4 Downstream Casino Resort Hotel Downstream Casino Resort - Quapaw, OK Year Hotel Opened: 2008 Number of Rooms: 222 (15 suites) The Quapaw Tribe s Downstream Casino Resort Hotel is an oasis of style and luxury that shines at the very tip northeast corner of Oklahoma in the scenic rolling hills of the wooded Ozark Plateau. Its quirky three-state location is only the beginning of its many unique features. Guests approach the resort through Missouri by way of an immaculately landscaped boulevard, pass briefly through Kansas, and in a matter of seconds end up in Oklahoma where they are valet-greeted into a place that feels like pure Las Vegas. Once inside, the spacious hotel lobby is a glittering yet earthy first impression. The centerpiece metal sculpture, a 15-foot-tall rendition of an ancient Quapaw pottery vessel, is an appropriate metaphor for the entire property a blend of modern art and historical culture, a mix of architectural angles, swirls and sweeps captured in earth-tone hues, granite, natural stone and wood. At ground level behind the hotel, the pool area offers another peaceful escape just far enough from the excitement of the casino. Guests can reserve one of the semi-private cabanas with fireplaces and mist machines (depending on the season). There is a large hot tub on one side of the spacious sunning patio, a fire pit with circular seating on the opposite side for important after-hours meetings, and the pool has its own private bar. Just beyond the pool, near the edge of the woods, is the multipurpose indoor-outdoor Pavilion for accommodating larger business groups, special events or small concerts. The Pavilion will seat 500 for dinner, or 1,000 for shows or meetings. But the Downstream Hotel s most important amenity is its pampering guest-service.
