Uniquely appointed designer accommodations are accented with Hawaiian plantation décor combined with modern amenities, including air conditioning; provide a quiet, private, and luxurious setting with an emphasis on personalized care. The Plantation Inn is also home to Gerard s Restaurant, one of the finest French restaurants in North America. Accommodations The Plantation Inn s two buildings house 18 rooms (14 guest rooms, 4 suites), which are connected by a lush tropical garden and secluded tiled pool, whirlpool spa, terrace and pavilion. Each room is uniquely appointed with a custom designed interior with Hawaiian plantation décor. Rooms are air-conditioned and designated non-smoking. Other features include remote control color TV, dataport telephones, clock radio, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, ceiling fan, specialty beds, tiled bathroom, and minirefrigerator. Most rooms have a private balcony or lanai. Voltage: A limited number of rooms with a kitchenette may be booked on a space available basis. 3 DINING Breakfast Gerard s Meal Plans Breakfast is included each morning from 7:30-9:30 a.m. Served in the poolside pavilion, guests may select from Chef Reversade s gourmet French toast, eggs Florentine, homemade yogurt and chef s special blend müeslix, bagels, lox and cream cheese, accompanied by fresh fruit, Gerard s special-blend coffee and tropical juices. Award-winning Contemporary Island French Cuisine is served in an intimate atmosphere. Chef Gérard Reversade delights the palate with delicacies created from the freshest, locally produced ingredients. Cocktails and fine wines are available. Open for dinner nightly from 6:00-9:00 p.m. (last sitting at 8:30 p.m.). TRANSPORTATION Domestic Airlines Maui is served by two airports. The Kahului Airport (OGG) is 22 miles from The Plantation Inn. Located seven miles to the north of The Plantation Inn is the Kapalua West Maui Airport (JHM), which serves inter-island passengers. Airport Transportation From Kahului Airport, taxi and shuttle services available. We suggest Hawai i Executive Transportation, , or Speedi Shuttle, , for current prices and schedules. From Kapalua Airport, taxi service available. Rental Cars Shuttle Bus Taxi Service Rental cars are available at both airports. From approximately 6:00 a.m 9:00 p.m., the Maui Bus provides transportation from the nearby Lāhainā Center to the Lāhainā Cannery Mall and to the Kā anapali Beach Resort. The current one-way charge is $2.00 per person (subject to change). Day passes are available for $4.00 per person (subject to change). Taxis are available upon request. 3

4 SHOPPING Lāhainā Town Lāhainā Town, once the royal capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom, still exudes a special charm owing to its rich heritage. Located in Lāhainā are some of the finest eateries, art galleries and shopping in the Pacific. Built on the water s edge, Lāhainā has several sites and artifacts from its royal Hawaiian past, its whaling and missionary era, and its days as a multi-ethnic plantation town. Attractions include movie theaters, traditional Hawaiian entertainment, unique theatrical productions, and night clubs. The Outlets of Maui Located on the corner of Front Street and Papalāua Street in Lāhainā Town, The Outlets of Maui is Maui s first and only outlet center. With many popular shops and dining options, The Outlets of Maui is a true dining, shopping and entertainment destination for all visitors and residents alike. Hours of operation are from 9:30 a.m.-10:00 p.m. Lāhainā Cannery Mall Whalers Village At the north end of Lāhainā Town sits Lāhainā Cannery Mall. Once a working pineapple cannery, it has been tastefully converted into a contemporary shopping mall featuring more than 50 shops and restaurants. As Maui s only fully-enclosed, air-conditioned mall, it is a popular place for shopping and dining. Anchor stores are Safeway and Long s Drugs. Free parking and convenient shuttle service are available. Mall hours are 9:30 a.m.-9:00 p.m. Whalers Village is set beachfront in the center of the Kā anapali Beach Resort, offering over 60 fine shops and restaurants. Open from 9:30 a.m.-10:00 p.m., seven days a week. Whalers Village is a shopper s paradise featuring art galleries, quality fashion, dining and jewelry shops. Guest enjoy visiting the Whale Museum of the Pacific for a look at Maui s whaling past, and each week the Village hosts a variety of entertainment in their center courtyard. LĀHAINĀ TOWN HISTORY Home of The Plantation Inn, Lāhainā Town is a lively little port that is one of Maui s top visitor attractions. Favored by Hawai i s royalty for its climate, location, and surfing, Lāhainā was once home for Kamehameha the Great and the unofficial capitol of the Hawaiian Islands. In the early 1800s, Lāhainā became a major stopping place for the whaling ships of the Pacific. Soon after, the missionaries from America began settling in the town. 4

5 LĀHAINĀ TOWN HISTORY (continued) KĀ ANAPALI BEACH HOTEL It did not take long for the staid missionaries and rambunctious seamen to engage in a long-running dispute that occasionally erupted into physical confrontations. Peace finally came when the whaling era ended. For many years thereafter, the prime source of employment for Lāhainā s people was the sugar and pineapple plantations. That has changed with the rise of the visitor industry, which brought about the revitalization of Lāhainā. The town is a windfall for sightseers, history buffs, ocean lovers, shoppers, and fun-seekers in general. Historical points of interest can be easily explored on foot and walking maps are available at the Front Desk. Just three miles north is The Plantation Inn s sister property, Kā anapali Beach Hotel, known as Hawai i s Most Hawaiian Hotel. Ride the Maui Bus or drive in your rental car for a fun-filled day on gorgeous Kā anapali Beach. Enjoy the hotel s variety of free Hawaiian activities which are scheduled daily. Among them are hula classes, lei making, ukulele lessons, cultural garden walk, lauhala weaving and pineapple cutting. A daily arts and crafts fair is offered in the hotel lobby from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Complimentary sunset hula show and torch lighting ceremonies are performed outdoors in Tiki Terrace Courtyard. Sports & Recreation At Kā anapali Beach Hotel, the whale-shaped swimming pool is open from 8:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. Beach rentals at the hotel include snorkeling and SCUBA equipment, boogie boards, stand-up paddle boards, beach chairs, umbrella sets, beach cabanas, and a beach catamaran offering cocktail, snorkel, sunset sails, and seasonal whale watching cruises (December April). KĀ ANAPALI BEACH RESORT Golf Maui s premier resort overflows with options for outdoor recreation enthusiasts. The Kā anapali Golf Courses, home to the Wendy s Champions Skins Tournament, features two championship golf courses designed by Robert Trent Jones (Tournament North) and Arthur Jack Snyder (Resort South). Green fees include a shared cart. Also available: driving range, putting green, club storage, top-of-the-line golf equipment, club and shoe rentals and apparel for men and women. 5

For more information on the public courts, please see the Front Desk. The beautiful golden sand of Kā anapali Beach is a natural focal point for fun and relaxation while on Maui. The Kā anapali beach walk extends the length of the Resort. Whale watching from December through April. Boating, diving, fishing, swimming, snorkeling, surfing, and windsurfing offered all year round. Parasailing and waterskiing offered from May to December. 6
