1 Overnight stay statistics February 6th 2017 Overnight stays in 2016 Guests at overnight accommodations In 2016 there has been the highest number of overnight stays, since the registration began in the year 1994, with a total of 240,631 overnight stays, an increase of 10.1 per cent compared to There has also been the highest number of arriving guests, since the registration began in the year 2000, with a total of arriving guests and a 10.3 per cent increase compared to last year. Figure 1. Number of arriving guests, number of overnight stays and average overnight stays per guest, Source: Nationality of arriving guests in 2016 The Qaasuitsoq region, well driven by Ilulissat as the main attraction, has had the largest number of guests in general with 36,326 arriving guests. The Sermersooq East region had the largest percentage of foreign guests (over 70 per cent.) and the lowest number of arriving guests in total with 4,551 guests. The Kujalleq region s guests were mainly domestic guests and there were 11,540 arriving guests in total.
