1 ALBA IULIA BUSINESS FORUM SMART AND SUSTA IINABLE C IIT IIES AND REG IIONS May 16 18, 2011 Alba Iulia Medieval Hotel - AGENDA - A major priority for the Romanian Government, the EU Strategy for the Danube Region must respond to day-to-day needs of the citizens. I strongly believe that only by working together - central and local authorities, business environment, academia and non-governmental organizations - we can contribute to the success of this new European macro-regional initiative. Teodor Baconschi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Romania No institution from Brussels will do anything in particular for the countries involved to be successful in the implementation of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region, and I can assure you that the competition between them will be strong. The success of Romania depends only on the authorities, the entities leaders and each applicant. Erhard Busek, President Institute for Danube Region and Central Europe
