The chance for a face-to-face meeting with the island's red flamingoes, fun parrots and mischievous lemurs of Madagascar make the Ardastra Zoo, an unmissable stop in Nassau. To finish off the tour, a complete visit of the city. This natural environment homes some animal species threatened with extinction which are protected in this environment. With a bit of luck, the **colourful parrots" will place themselves down on us, so we must keep our cameras close to hand to capture these emotional moments. Within the zoo, we can also admire exotic* jaguars, lemurs of Madagascar, peacocks, swans, as well as snakes and iguanas**. Before returning to the coach and continue on our excursion, we will have some free time to get a drink at the Parrot Pit Stop or browse in Toby's Treasures, to find that perfect souvenir. Once we reach the island, local staff will welcome us, and we can enjoy a magnificent day getting away from it all, choosing to relax on the fine white sand beach or diving into the magnificent turquoise waters of the island. For the sportier people, it is possible to hire equipment for water sports (not motor-driven), such as snorkelling, kayaking and paddleboarding. Balmoral Island: encounter with rays Snorkelling Relaxation on beach or by the heated swimming pool Once we arrive on*balmoral Island*, a genuine tropical paradise just over a kilometre from the coast and far from the confusion of the centre of Nassau, we will be welcomed by the staff and divided into small groups for the ray encounter*. The rays on the south may grow up to a metre in diameter and Balmoral Island is the only place in Nassau where it is possible to interact with these animals. After signing a release form, the guide will provide some information on the rays and on how to approach them. Lasting about 30 minutes, our instructor will "present" us with the rays allowing us to cuddle, feed and support them for a photo, which we can then buy at the end of the tour. We proceed in our journey towards Little Bluff, where we dismount our ATVs to watch the wild horses, free roaming donkeys and the fascinating flamingos in all their majestic beauty. And if we look beyond, to the extreme north of the island, we can see the lighthouse built in We are fascinated by the wreck of a ship which sank 190 years ago while crossing the mysterious Bermuda Triangle and the legends about the mysterious shipwrecks and the salt trade. * We also hear about the 21,000 ft. drop that surrounds the island.
