2 DESCRIPTION GENERAL INFORMATION Hotel owned by the Cuban tourism group Gaviota and managed by the Spanish chain Meliá Hotels International in an administrative contract under the Sol Hotels brand since 1994 and as the Sol Río de Luna y Mares complex since the 1st of November The Luna section was opened 28 November 1991 and the Mares section 2 June RECOMMENDED FOR Families, weddings and honeymoons, nature LOCATION It faces the sea and lies within the perimeter of the Bahía Naranjo Nature Park, which boasts lush tropical Caribbean forest vegetation and a beach zone known as Esmeralda beach. It is just a few metres from the Paradisus Río de Oro. It is 56 km from the city of Holguín, 5 km from the shopping centre and Guardalavaca Beach and 4 km from Marina Gaviota, the aquarium/dolphinarium and Chorro de Maíta.
