3 Select an Attachment Point An attachment point is the location on the tool that the lanyard will be attached. 25 Select an Anchor Point The tool lanyard used to tether a tool will most likely decide the suitable anchor point. Wrist lanyards are anchored to a wrist. Belt retractors are mounted to a belt.
