10 010 DESIGNEDDEVELOPMENT Functional Design consists of a complete line of products, all of which are developed from the same basic idea, the same dimensions and the same design. The product line includes tables and benches, wastebins, ashtrays, bicycle stands, bollards, signs and lamps. Many of our ideas for new products are still on the drawing board, but if it is exactly one of these products that you need, we will rapidly present you with a prototype. The choice of materials is a chapter in itself. The main frame is delivered in stainless steel, galvanized steel or painted on stainless steel in the colour of your choice. The covering parts are also available in many different materials and variants, e.g. sheets that match the frames or different woods such as teak, mahogany, larch wood, etc. We also work with granite, glass and other alternative materials. Therefore, we will always be able to deliver a product that matches the rest of the arrangement, both indoors and outdoors. So please do not hesitate to contact us. We are able to deliver almost anything. And if that is not enough, then we will develop and design a customized solution especially for you.

42 42 DESIGNEDDEVELOPMENT This product line is named Airport, because it was developed in close collaboration with Copenhagen Airport, where the cleaning personnel had specific wishes regarding the product. The product line currently consists of specially designed furniture, which can be used purely as a wastebin, as an ashtray solution or as a combination of both. It is also available as a wallmounted model with or without a roof and, finally, you can get it in an XL version, containing three times as much waste as the original bins. The design is adapted to the existing, elegant design of the airport, in particular the characteristic round pillars. The height and width of the furniture is not random, but is designed in a way that makes it user-friendly for both guests and staff. This is of great importance considering that each of the products is emptied up to times per day. Replacing the bin bag is extremely easy due to the conically shaped inner bin with a specially designed ring to ensure that the bin bag stays in place. Therefore, Airport is eminently suitable for airports, but can of course also be used in other places where functionality and design are required.

54 54 DESIGNEDDEVELOPMENT With this line you can welcome your guests, employees and others with an attractive entrance. First impressions are often also the lasting impressions! Originally the EntryDesign wall ashtray was developed for the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University of Denmark, in an effort to match the other equipment of the noble old buildings. The result was a wall ashtray with a large capacity and an easy emptying mechanism. When the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University was merged with the University of Copenhagen, a new sign system was introduced, which meant that the EntryDesign wall ashtrays were no longer suitable for the buildings. That was when redevelopment began. We redesigned the line, and the result today is a product line consisting of a wall ashtray and a wall wastebin. Both have a very large capacity, and are flexible and reliable just like all the other products at Peoples.

62 62 DESIGNEDDEVELOPMENT Aqua Steel is a whole line of bathroom products manufactured in stainless steel. The product line is both designed and produced in Denmark in an ISO certified factory, and consists of a series of matching products that meet most needs for arranging bathrooms, e.g. in connection with drying, soap dispensing and waste collection. Notice the special surface treatment that rejects both graffiti and sticky fingers and is therefore extremely easy to clean. The product line is also delivered in brushed steel or with the surface treatment you specifically desire, e.g. special enamelled colours and texture. Aqua Steel sets new standards in bathroom design and functionality.

66 66 DESIGNEDDEVELOPMENT The unique bombproof wastebin is a result of a of collaboration between Peoples and Dynasafe. The uniqueness is the concept - we call it The beauty and the beast! The bombproof wastebin gives you the safety you require, and we have added beautiful design and functionality. The bins have been tested in really rough surroundings, where a wastebin can be emptied up to 50 times a day. The cooperation between Dynasafe and Peoples is ideal: Dynasafe takes care of the technical part and Peoples handles the design and functionality. The concept consists of two independent units - the bombproof unit and an outer part which in itself is an efficient wastebin. It is not sufficient that a wastebin is bombproof. It has to be able to meet the cleaning department s demands for functionality and it has to be able to meet the architect s demands for design. Our product meets all three demands. The concept of two independent units makes it possible to use the same design for the whole area, without using bombproof bins where they are not needed. If a safety upgrade becomes necessary at a later date, you can always buy the bombproof unit separately at that time.

The customer may contact us directly, or we may participate in a tender or a competition. SPECIALDESIGN NO DSB, Bin for free newspapers We are proud to report that Peoples won the competition arranged by The Danish State Railways for design and production of a container for collecting free newspapers lying around the stations. SPECIALDESIGN NO HideIT, shelter for wastebins HideIT is a product that we designed and produced ourselves, because we saw a need for a shelter or a way of hiding outdoor household wastebins.

77 Fire extinguisher 77 SPECIALDESIGN NO. 10 Due to the increased number of free newspapers lying around on the stations, The Danish State Railways arranged a design and production competition regarding a container for the collection of free newspapers. We are proud to report that Peoples won this competition with SpecialDesign No. 10, which is a special cover incorporating different functions e.g. an automatic fire extinguisher. The inside container is the well-known 240-litre plastic wheelie bin, easy to handle and empty. The cover is made of 100% recyclable rotation plastic - rust proof, easy to clean and resistant to grafitti! 78 78 SPECIALDESIGN NO. 20 SPECIALDESIGN NO AAU, Windbreakers This product was originally developed in collaboration with Aalborg University in connection with the construction of outdoor areas for the students. The university had already bought our exclusive benches and tables and they now asked for a fence that could act both as a windbreaker and a separator for the surrounding areas. The result was a fence with materials and dimensions that perfectly match the furniture, a product that is both functional and aesthetic. The fence mitigates the wind while still allowing visibility both through and over the solid mahogany planks, leaving no doubt about the demarcation of the areas. Aalborg University, DK

Hide your wastebins! HideIT is modular so that it is possible to build a version that exactly fits your needs.
