Whilst all the Karomed range automatically self adjust to the patients weight they all operate with exceptional low interface pressures compared to other suppliers the Karomed range can be up to 50 mmhg lower than other suppliers, thus creating greater comfort and faster advanced healing rates. Static Mattress Systems Page Karomed provide a full range of static foam, visco and hybrid mattresses for all hospital acute settings, community settings and care homes. Karomed are able to provide the latest technology in cover design which includes the Polycarbonate range, Strike Through resistant technology. The DARTEX double coated covers deliver durability, comfort and performance. Cushions Static & Dynamic Page Karomed provide an extensive range of pressure reducing/relieving cushions with a choice of foam, gel or visco. The Karomed range includes the patented Transflo range which offers foam depths of 5cm or 8cm, whilst supporting patient weights of up to 60 stone (381kg). The visco and high density foam cushions allow patients to benefit from the latest manufacturing technologies. Beds Chairs Page Karomed provide both a Community bed and a Bariatric Community bed. The Ecofit S bed has a greater advantage when compared to other community beds, as the Ecofit S bed has an upper weight limit of 35 stone with an optional integral extension. The Ecofit S bed also conforms to the latest IEC Page Karomed have introduced an entire new range of chairs for both acute, community and care homes. The chairs are designed to accommodate all situations, such as bedside, day room and home settings. The range includes extras such as adjustable seat heights, drop down arms, barrier casings on the inner cushions, inner liners, seat depths adjusted to seat heights and a large range of fabrics. 4 4 Support Services Support Services Karomed offer a range of support services for Acute and Community Trusts as well as Care Homes that are prompt, professional, unobtrusive and dependable. Our service is both flexible and responsive in order to meet the varied needs of our customers as well as the changing needs of the NHS. Rentals (see page 6) A comprehensive range of clinically proven, dynamic systems are available to rent either on an ad-hoc or contractual basis. A nationwide team of rental co-ordinators and a 24 hour telephone helpline ensure a rapid response. Education Education and ongoing clinical advice is provided on a modular basis and we deliver up to date, practice based education and training. It is our belief that effective education and appropriate use of equipment will lead to improved patient outcomes. Servicing We understand that our customers may own other manufacturer s pressure care equipment as well as Karomed s. By maintaining good working relationships with other suppliers, our nationwide team of engineers are trained on the specifications of all makes of pressure equipment and carry a comprehensive range of replacement parts. Managed Service We will manage Trust owned equipment to include storage, delivery/ installation, collection, maintenance and decontamination. Audits To ensure that support surfaces and other items are fit for purpose we offer a comprehensive audit of static mattresses, dynamic mattresses, bed frames and patient chairs. Bespoke Products We provide a bespoke service for mattresses, cushions, and chairs to suit the majority of patient needs. In addition, mattresses can be customised to fit all types of bedframes and trolleys. Supporting Clinical Research As part of an ongoing programme of clinical research and product development, the clinical efficacy of all Karomed pressure care equipment is supported by research data, reference sites and case studies. Cleaning and Decontamination Through our decontamination facilities, Karomed offer an independently monitored cleaning and decontamination service for rental and Trust owned equipment in line with NHS guidelines.

6 6 Rentals Rentals The Karomed rental programme is one of the most transparent, user friendly and accessible programmes I have ever used. Karomed have over 35 years of providing rental services to all organisations or individuals. We manage contracts within the NHS or supplying the Karomed range in multiples exceeding over 1,000 systems at any one time, providing a 365 day 24/7 support, installation and collection service. Karomed are also able to supply on an individual basis, using the same systems which have been comprehensively clinically evaluated by many leading senior clinicians within the NHS (clinical papers available to download from our website). Statement of Rentals Our Rental programme has been designed to meet the daily challenges and demands of both the Community and Acute environment of the NHS. Karomed s rental programme offers a simple solution which is fast and effective with no hidden charges for minimum use, or collection. A Rental Service where premium, clinically evaluated products are used with the added benefits that the Transair Range fit all other Suppliers bed frames and each rental is set up in a home, on a ward or in the Community by a Trained Service Engineer. To compliment the Servicing and Rental programme Karomed offer their Customers the PDA, the first of its kind for any Company. This hand held device creates a real-time solution for the installation, delivery and collection of the Rental equipment. It creates live data for Karomed s Contracted Customers where KPI s are measured and implemented, activity is needed within the actual moment allowing Trust s to access their live data through their own Portal on the Karomed Website. The programme also allows Karomed to determine the actual time jobs will be actioned.
