The only question is which will you put at the heart of your holiday? The 2014 model collection is the first to evolve from Lunar s Core philosophy and technology. With Core our body shell is empowered with durability and weight reductions by as much as 55 kg across the range. Core defines something very close to our hearts our passion for lightweight technology and a company philosophy that underlines the belief that everyone should experience the joys of touring. Our innovation through Core integrates materials of a proven background with those of leading edge quality. Our progress through lightweight technology has introduced a pioneering thermoplastic material to the inner wall, creating an enhanced body shell that boasts superior properties; Weight reduced by up to 55 kg Moisture resistant reduced condensation Strength improved durability Insulation improved insulation and Grade III compliance Core Innovation Tried and tested! The integration of Core technology with existing and proven engineering methods provides the re-assurance of reliability to our customers. The advancement in materials and their application is a breakthrough for our range whilst also being highly recognised by leading brands within the automotive and marine sector. After meticulous selection every component continues to be carefully designed, constructed and tested. With the use of two leading testing facilities organised by AL-KO and Truma/Alde, we were able to put our caravans through extreme road and temperature conditions. Core Road Test Our Core body shell caravan endured a lifetime test of 30,000 km, via an automotive test facility in Stuttgart, Germany. The test programme was split into two parts; Track run A vehicle track cycle of 20,000 km incorporating all the demands that a real life road of today imposes including Belgium pave/cobbles, larger moon crater pot holes and repaired asphalt surfaces. Rolling Road A rolling road simulator aggressively modified to subject heavy Bump loads through the chassis and subsequent body shell. The intensive test programme, witnessed by vehicle engineering specialists at AL-KO, provided conclusive evidence of a very resilient product, reinforcing the fact that our Core design has successfully reduced weight whilst maintaining advanced strength and durability. Core Climate Test In one of the world s largest climate chamber test facilities, owned by Truma/Alde, the Core body shell endured a sub-zero temperature test programme of 100 hours. Conclusions promoted the body shell s superior material properties indicating an improved spread of warm air, elimination of cold spots/moisture and significant reduction in condensation. The testing then continued back in Derbyshire, UK, where our caravan felt the temperature extremes of one of the world s largest climate chambers run by Truma/Alde. The results from the tests showed that by using this honeycomb thermoplastic material, our Lunar caravans have a more even spread of warm air inside and cold spots minimised. With less cold spots present there will also be less moisture deposits on the walls and windows, reducing the occurrence of condensation. With a sleek exterior and luxurious interior features, all brought together with Core, every one of our models ranging from 2 to 6 berths offers comfort and quality in a lightweight package. We have enhanced our Quasar models with a stunning new full height curved front panel with 25% larger flush fitting front windows and a large gas locker that offers 35% more storage. The graceful looks continue thanks to the sleek new side windows and new graphic decal design. As every inch of space in a caravan is precious, there are many functional and practical ideas behind our interior enhancements. Thanks to the new full height front panel, the interior is airy and open. More headroom is also provided underneath the front bulkhead lockers which offer 40% more usable shelf space. The fresh new Romano soft furnishings bring comfort and style and are complemented by the new Stone stain resistant carpet and array of new LED lighting. The powerful new 4kw Truma combi gas/ electric water and central heating system has a fast heat up time and provides instant, controllable timed heating and hot water. There is also a new Truma digital control panel to complement this system. Developed with Core for 2014, it now has an amazingly low MTLM of 970kg. The Quasar is also perfect for families who enjoy the true touring pleasures of luxury, space and flexibility. For 2014 we have introduced the Quasar 564, a very flexible 4 berth with an MTLM of just 1350kg. Evolved with Core, these 5 single-axle and 2 twin-axle models quietly rewrite the rules of luxury touring. The exterior is distinctively Lunar, with contemporary flowing lines. The stunning curved front panel, full height back panel and the onepiece aluminium side panel give the exterior an exceptionally sleek look. While the extra touches like chrome grab handles, LED courtesy lights and elegant new decal design gives this range the stamp of the Lunar marque. Also unmistakably Lunar, the Clubman/Delta interior indulges the senses, with every luxury accounted for. The Lagonda soft furnishings and Chartreuse luxury pile carpet provide a homely feel, while the warm Chestnut finish wood, new LED double lit spot lights and elegant cabinetry blend together seamlessly. 11 Touring For Over 40 Years Owners Club The Lunar story reflects 44 years of passion and pride for building caravans that are undoubtedly the best in lightweight luxury touring. From humble beginnings, co-founders Brian Talbot and Ken Wilcock, named their caravan manufacturing business Lunar, following inspiration from the 1969 mission to land on the moon. They knew their caravans were exceptional but couldn t have imagined the size that Lunar has become today. From the flagship Clubman to the legendary little Ariva, through the years the Lunar ethos has remained constant: build lightweight high quality caravans with luxurious interiors. rotecting our heritage and our future has always been paramount. When the company was sold to a European manufacturer in the 1990 s it was a milestone when a management buyout, led by Chairman and CEO, Brian Mellor, was finalised in Since the buyout, the innovation applied to both our caravans and our manufacturing has gone from strength to strength. We have made investments in a wide range of new manufacturing equipment and new design software technology. These advancements have become our trademark, setting our caravan collection apart from our rivals. In March 2011, we were reunited with one of our very first models, a Lunar Saturn, that had toured with a family from Lancashire for over 40 years. This compact two berth was one of the first models we built. The family took delight in touring with this caravan all over the UK from 1969 right through to Following a difficult decision in 2011 to finally retire from touring, the family contacted us to see if we could provide a final home for their Saturn which had become a real part of the family. We were absolutely thrilled with this opportunity as the Saturn signifies a Lunar heritage dedicated to quality and craftsmanship. We are extremely proud of our heritage and it is the drive behind our lightweight luxury innovations for the future.
