1 Boys Hostel Hostel for boys yes... Shared accommodation. There are total 104 rooms in the boy s hostel which include one TV room / reading room, one Doctors room / Visitor room, one office and three Guest rooms. Rest 98 rooms have been allotted to the students. There is a hot water facility for the hostel. There is a Solar system of 1000ltr fitted in the hostel for B wing students and 4000 ltr for A wing students. Also there are electrical geysers fitted in each toilet block and they are used as back up for warm water during rainy season as the Solar system does not work in cloudy weather. There are two aqua guards fitted in the hostel for students. Also one aqua guard in connected to water cooler. The capacity of the hostel is 209. Total 209 students are staying in the hostel. There are no waiting students for hostel admission. Hostel building is new, modern, spacious and adjacent to the college. The rooms are properly ventilated and provided with fans, CFL bulbs. Also the rooms are furnished with cots, cupboards (lockers), chairs and a study tables. Also the hostel is well secured and guarded for 24 Hrs. There is a mess attached to the boy s hostel. One aqua guard is fitted in the mess. Also there is an inverter fitted in the mess as a stand by supply in case main fails. The seating capacity mess is 176. This educational campus is equipped with hostel facilities for students. Accommodation is available for 209 students Hostel building is new modern, spacious and adjacent to the

2 college. The rooms are properly ventilated and provided with fans, tube lights and furnished with cots, cupboards (lockers), a chair and a study table. A hot water system is installed and aqua guard is fitted for providing safe and pure drinking water. Hostel has a spacious dinning hall where daily meals are served at reasonable rates. (Fixed by management on contract basis.) Hostel has a Recreation Hall with color TV Set. Also the hostel is well secured and guarded for 24 hrs. HOSTEL RULES :- I) Admission to Hostel : 1) A student admitted to Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering only shall be eligible to apply for admission to hostel. 2) Students will have to buy prospectus and apply for admission in the prescribed form through the Rector to the Principal of the college. 3) Admission will be granted by management at its own discretion. 4) Admission to the hostel will be confirmed and room will be allotted only after the student pays hostel fees and deposits and submits receipts in the hostel office. 5) For students, whose result of earlier annual/semester is pending may be admitted to the hostel only provisionally. Admission of such students shall be confirmed after the declaration of result and only if they become eligible for succeeding year of study. 6) Admission to the hostel will be valid only for one academic year. 7) Student desirous of continuing admission in the hostel for the next academic year will have to follow the same procedure as prescribed for first year admission in the hostel. The admission to such student will be given only by seeing his behavior in the previous year of stay in the hostel and as per the merit decided by management. Ill disciplined students will not be given admission in the hostel for next academic year. III) CANCELLATION OF HOSTEL ADMISSION & REFUND OF FEES & DEPOSITS 1) Cancellation of admission The student desirous of canceling Hostel admission will have to apply in his own handwriting to the concerned Principal through Rector. 2) Refund of hostel fees:- The fees once paid is not refundable Except certain special circumstances shown bellow,

Refund of Deposits- 1) The deposits will be refunded only after the student has obtained the clearance certificate ( No dues certificate) from the college as well as from the Hostel. 2) The refund of fees and deposit shall ordinarily be made by cheque within three months from the date of cancellation of admission in the college and the hostel. IV) REGARDING ALLOTMENT OF HOSTEL ROOM 1) Allotment of room to the students will be made by the Rector after confirmation of the admission in the Hostel 2) Allotment once made will ordinarily remain unchanged throughout the year. However, the Rector will have the right to make necessary changes in the allotment of the room during the year and the change made by Rector will be binding on the student. Student is not expected to change his room without prior permission of the Rector. 3) A student should occupy his room within 7 days from the date of allotment. Failing to do this, his allotment of the room will stand cancelled and the hostel fees paid by him will not be refunded. 4) Before occupying the room a student should produce a medical fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner. 5) In case of sickness student should inform hostel office about it immediately. 6) Students will have to use their own locks for room and lockers. 7) Student will be provided with a cot, table, chair, locker, fan and tube light switch boards. After allotment of the room by the Hostel Authority, each student will have to submit the report of the furniture and equipments received. Similarly, the student will have to hand over the furniture and equipments received by him at the time of leaving the room. 8) A student will use his own bedding. 9) Student will have to keep his room clean, neat & tidy and should always be careful in its maintenance. He should not litter up his room or the premises. 10) Water and electricity should be used economically. Uses of electrical appliances such as heater rod, hot plates, electric iron, radio receiver etc are strictly prohibited. Heavy fine will be charged if the students are found using such appliances and they will be liable for dismissal from the hostel. 11) Students should stay in their Hostel rooms between 10 p.m. To 6 a.m. 12) A student s presence is compulsory at the final roll call by the Hostel Staff every day at 10 p.m.

4 13) For permission to remain absent for the roll call or for going out during night time or for going out station or for staying with relatives and friends in the city, a student should apply in writing to the Rector well in advance and get his permission after the students parents consent.. 14) The student will have to apply in the prescribed form to Rector for going out during night for genuine reasons. Such permission will be granted by the Rector only once in a week with the written recommendation of the Principal. 15) Taking into consideration the acute shortage of electricity students should take particular care to switch off the lights and fans, when they are not inside the rooms. If they fail to switch off the lights and the fans, they will be fined. 16) Student shall not enter into others room without their consent and should not disturb others. 17) Students will have to vacate the rooms immediately within two days after their annual examination is over. If they desire to stay in the hostel during vacation period, they will have to apply in writing to the Principal, through the Rector well in advance and the decision of the Principal will be final. 18) If the occupant of the room does not reside in the hostel room continuously for more than four days without the prior permission of the Rector, his room will be considered as vacant and it will be allotted to the needy student, who is in waiting list and the fees will not be refunded under any circumstances. 19) Hostel students will be granted leave on prescribed form only on college holidays. No leave will be granted on working days, in case of urgency student have to take permission from the HOD/ Class teacher and the application should be submitted personally to hostel office. 20) Student is not allowed to carry out side / mess meal to the hostel rooms. 21) Due to unavoidable circumstances if student is not able to return to hostel after leave, he should inform to hostel office telephonically about over staying. A strict disciplinary action will be taken against the defaulters. 22) The student who remains absent for more than three days without the permission of the Rector, the Principal of his college will be informed accordingly and suitable disciplinary action will be taken against him. 23) No student is allowed to stay in the hostel room, while academic classes are going on. 24) Hostel student s parents are only allowed to stay in the guest room. 25) Hostel student s guests are not allowed to go to students rooms. They are permitted to meet their ward in visitor s room. V) RULES OF GENERAL DISCIPLINE - 1) The student should behave in such a fashion that the atmosphere in the hostel remains clam and conducive to studies and leading to the cultural and moral development of the inmates. 2) Students should take utmost care to keep their room and hostel premises neat and clean. 3) Prior permission of the principal of the college, through Rector is necessary for arranging any function, lecture, excursion, get together or to start any activity in the hostel premises. The decision of the Principal for giving permission will be final. 4) In the case of any untoward happening such as theft, cheating, accident, sudden sickness etc. student should immediately report to the hostel authority. 5) Student suffering from bodily disorder, injury or sickness should immediately report the matter to the Rector and seek help from the authorized hospital; however student wishing to be treated other than authorized may do so by giving in writing. 6) The students are advised not to keep any valuable articles or cash in their rooms. If they do so it will be entirely at their own risk. They are further advised to lock their rooms with sturdy locks even if they leave the room for any reason and they are further advised to deposit their cash or valuables with Indian Overseas Bank available on the campus.

5 7) No parents are allowed to stay in the student s room. However there are three guest rooms available in the hostel at reasonable charges. Only parents of the students can stay by paying the necessary charges.. 8) Students are strictly prohibited from receiving a female guest in their rooms. 9) Students are strictly prohibited from playing outdoor games in the hostel premises. Similarly students should not play indoor games in hostel rooms. 10) Students will have to remain present for flag hoisting on 15 th August and 26 th January. 11) Vehicles, if any, of the students will have to be parked only at the parking place at their own risk. 12) Students should not drive vehicles in the college campus or off the campus at a speed more than 30KMPH for their own and public safety. 13) Student should not loiter in the veranda, passages and disturb others, perfect silence should be observed. Shouting in the hostel is strictly prohibited. 14) Smoking and alcoholic drinks are strictly prohibited in the hostel and college premises. 15) Students shall not bring or use crackers, hand bombs or any explosive articles in the hostel premises that may cause noise pollution, disturbance or danger to life/property or both. 16) Student should take utmost care to see that no damage is caused to the hostel building, furniture, electrical & sanitary fittings, water cooler & Aqua guards and any other equipment in the hostel premises. The loss caused will be recovered from the students. 17) Students should not play radio, transistor, record player or any other musical instruments in the hostel premises. 18) The students will have to make entry in the register kept at the entrance of the hostel while going out or coming in. 19) Students shall behave politely and properly with the Rector/ staff member of the hostel. VI) PROHIBION Following activities are strictly prohibited in the hostel. 1) Loudly speaking/talking. 2) Sitting unnecessarily anywhere in campus/hostel. 3) Smoking cigarettes. Chewing pan/ pan parag / tobacco etc. 4) Coming in the hostel in drunken state or drinking liquor in hostel. 5) Ragging or torturing any student mentally or physically. 6) Misbehavior with the hostel staff. 7) Quarreling with each other. 8) Late coming in the hostel (without permission). 9) Damage to hostel property. 10) Standing in front of hostel main door, passage, staircase etc. 11) Improper dress while taking meals. 12) Posters or painting on the walls of hostel rooms and doors. 13) Playing outdoor games in the hostel. 14) Disturbance to other students. 15) Cooking in the room. 16) Changing allotted room and the furniture without prior permission from hostel authority. In all above matters the decision of the Principal of college, based on the report and recommendation of the Rector of colleges shall be final and binding on the students. The students will strictly adhere to the rules of discipline framed by the college and the Hostel authorities, from time to time.

WARNING RAGGING of students, physically or mentally, is a black spot on the society and is a cognizable offence. The student who have to face ragging can lose their mental stability and can spoil their lives. All the students are requested not to do such inhuman and cruel act and should give up completely. If any students, is found involved in the ragging of juniors or any student, then matter will be handled very seriously. The student may be rusticated and the case maybe handed over to the Police. The Maharashtra Legislative Council has passed a bill (L.C. Bill Number ix of 1999) to prohibit ragging in educational institutions in the State of Maharashtra on 7 th April 1999 As per this bill- 1) Ragging within or outside of any educational institution is strictly prohibited 2) Whosoever directly or indirectly commits, participates in. abets or propagates ragging within outside any educational institute shall on conviction, be punished with imprisonment for a term which extend to Rs. 10,000/-. 3) Any student convicted of an offence of ragging shall be dismissed from the educational institute and such student shall not be admitted to any other educational institute for a period of five years from the date of order of such dismissal. 7 CURCULAR No. 101/DTE/ CIRCULAR, DATED 14/12/1993 It had been brought to notice of the undersigned that in some of Engineering Colleges and Polytechnics newly admitted students have been subjected to physical and mental torture by the senior students in the name or ragging. This has resulted in ruining the carrier of the brilliant students and also the nervous break down in some case. The Principals of all Engineering Colleges and Polytechnics are hereby instructed to take a very strict disciplinary action against the students involved in such cases to the nextent of removing them from the Rolland taking the on books so that evil does not spread. They are also instructed to take precautionary measure right in the beginning of the session with the help of teaching staff so that such incidents do not take place. They are further requested to send the report of the steps taken in their institution to the undersigned within a week time. Director of Technical Education M.S. 8 UGC REGULATIONS ON CURBING THE MENACE OF RAGGING IN HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS, (under Section 26(1)(g) of the University grants Commission Act,1956) Clause 3 Constitutes Ragging :- Ragging constitutes one or more of any of the following acts: a. any conduct by any student by any student or students whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student; b. indulging in rowdy or indiscipline activities by any student or students which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship, physical or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension there of in any fresher or any other student; c. asking any student to do any act which such student will not in the ordinary course do and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame, or torment or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of such fresher or any other student; d. any act by a senior student that prevents, disrupts or disturbs the regular academic activity of any other student or a fresher ; e. exploiting the services of a fresher or any other student for completing the academic tasks assigned to an individual or a group of students. f. any act of financial extortion or forceful expenditure burden put on a fresher or any other student by students : g. any act of physical abuse including all variants of it : sexual abuse, homosexual assaults, stripping, forcing obscene and lewd acts, gestures, causing bodily harm or any other danger to health or person; h. any act or abuse by spoken words, s, post, public insults which would also include deriving perverted pleasure, vicarious or sadistic thrill from actively or passively participating in the discomfiture to fresher or any other student; i. any act that affects the mental health and self-confidence of a fresher or any other student with or without an intent to derive a sadistic pleasure or showing off power, authority or superiority by a student over any fresher or any other student. Clause 7 Action to be taken by the Head of the institution. On receipt of the recommendation of the Anti Ragging Squad or on receipt of any information concerning any reported incident of ragging, the Head of institution shall immediately determine if a case under the penal laws is made out and if so, either on his own or through a member of the Ant-Ragging Committee authorized by him in this behalf, proceed to file a First Information Report (FIR), within twenty four hours of receipt of such information or recommendation, with the police and local authorities, under the appropriate penal provisions relating to one or more of the following, namely ; i. Abetment to ragging; ii. Criminal conspiracy to rag; iii. Unlawful assembly and rioting while ragging; iv. Public nuisance created during ragging; v. Violation of decency and morals through ragging; vi. Injury to body, causing hurt or grievous hurt; vii. Wrongful restraint; viii. Wrongful confinement; ix. Use of criminal force; x. Assault as well as sexual offences or unnatural offences;

9 xi. Extortion; xii. Criminal trespass; xiii. Offences against property; xiv. Criminal intimidation; xv. Attempts to commit any or all of the above mentioned offences against the victim (s); xvi. Threat to commit any of all of the above mentioned offences against the victim (s); xvii. Physical or psychological humiliation; xvii. All other offences following from the definition of Ragging. Provided that the Head of the institution shall forthwith report the occurrence of the incident of ragging to the District Level Anti-Ragging Committee and the Nodal officer or the affiliating University, if the institution is an affiliated institution. Provided further that the institution shall also continue with its own enquiry initiated under clause 9 of these Regulations and other measure without waiting for action on the part of the police/local authorities and such remedial action shall be initiated and completed immediately and in no case later than a period of seven days of the reported occurrence of the incident or ragging. Clause 9.1 Administrative action in the event of ragging.- The institution shall punish a student found guilty or fagging after following the procedure and in the manner prescribed herein under: a) The Anti-Ragging Committee of the institution shall take an appropriate decision, in regard to punishment or otherwise, depending on the facts of each incident of ragging and nature and gravity of the incident of ragging established in the recommendations of the Anti-Ragging Squad. b) The Ant-Ragging Committee may, depending on the nature and gravity of the guilt established by the Ant-Ragging Squad, award, to those found guilty, one or more of the following punishment, namely; i. Suspension from attending classes and academic privileges. ii. Withholding/withdrawing scholarship/fellowship and other benefits. iii. Debarring from appearing in any test/examination or other evaluation process. iv. Withholding results. v. Debarring from representing the institution in any regional, national or international meet, tournament, youth festival, etc. vi. Suspension/expulsion from the hostel. vii. Cancellation of admission. viii. Rustication from the institution for period ranging from one to four semesters. ix. Expulsion from the institution and consequent debarring from admission to any other institution for a specified period. Proved that where the persons committing or abetting the act of ragging are not identified, the institution shall resort to collective punishment. c) An appeal against the order of punishment by the Ant-Ragging Committee shall lie, i. in case of an order of an institution, affiliated to or constituent part, of a University, to the Vice Chancellor of the University; ii. in case of an order of a University, to its Chancellor. iii. in case of an institution of national importance carted by an Act of Parliament, to the Chairman or Chancellor of the institution, as the case may be.
