1 Free Musketeers Road Trip 27 Dec 12 till ~8 Jan 13 Day 4 Seeheim to Askham (~500km) On every road trip there is point where you start loosing touch with reality not referring to a Pink Floyd Psychedelic trans trip but rather the sense of what day it is, and any sense of time you start waking up when the sun rises and I think we all hit this on this specific day! Finally we stopped having a motorcycle tour and started having a bike trip! Personally Askham will always be remembered by me for this specific reason! Soon after we woke we started to roll on the B4 towards Keetmans and was once again plagued by the almighty puncture Gods.. Well this was the same puncture as the day before that gave us grieve with enough patients and compressed air we managed to nurse the VFR till Keetmanshoop You see after about the 5 th time we plugged the tire I came to the sobering conclusion, it only takes about 10minutes for the tire to deflate, so why not go full taps.. and so I would plug the tire, put some air in it, and roll on the throttle and go as fast as I can until I feel the deflated tire.. eventually we got to Keetmans and managed to organise some professional help.. 3 After they patched the tire with 2 patched (mushroom plug + patch) we had a quick breakfast in a VERY hot Namibian Wimpy! It was so hot they even serve their Ice Cream melted.. Soon after we hit and followed C16 all the way to the South African Border on our way to Hakskeen pan! Rietfontein here we come

6 Rietfontein didn t have much to offer (not even fuel) so we stopped for a cold drink and headed off to Hakskeen pan where the Bloodhound Super Sonic Car will attempt 1000 miles per hour later this year, that is roughly 1600 kilometres an hour!

11 The idea was initially to camp right directly on the pan, but seeing our brains were boiling in their own juices just standing there we decided to rather head on to the next town and get our first nights accommodation in a place with a roof! In Aksham we got cheap accommodation, and seeing it was a Sunday we had some luck as the owner of the guesthouse not only fitted 2 aircons to the self catering flat we stayed in, they were also the owners of the café and liquor store! Soon we were sorted with dop, chop and a accommodation! Whooaaa. Everything is bigger up there.. there duisend pote have around a million legs.. ;) Ps. That is a size plakkie!

12 Our Google latitude live tracking was still working perfectly! Gotta love Google and their Android Software! Free of charge family and friends can follow one these days, no more annoying sms messages about where are you and are you safe! Less hassle, more saddle time! And then the party started.. we had some Eskimo Toffies with our brandy. (that is now after we finished the beers..)

13 We partied until the early ours of the last day of 2012! Well partied is a bit of a harsh word.. our bodies was taking a beating the last few days of riding and drinking.. Looking back at these pictures I can t help but reminiscence about the song sang by Bob Seger (Turn the page, the Original).. Tomorrow we leave for a new years party at Die Mas of Kamakamas, just outside Augrabies.. But for now I ll leave you with the lyrics of Turn the page, have a good one!
