6 Airport reception The University of Queensland will arrange transportation from the Brisbane Domestic or International Airport for new UQ international students. 11 Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) UQ s preferred OSHC provider is Allianz Global Assistance. 26 Banking There are four major banks and a number of smaller banks to choose from in Australia. Commonwealth Bank of Australia Westpac Bank ANZ Bank National Australia Bank Information on how to open a bank account will be provided at your Getting Started session. Banks may allow international students to open an account in the three months leading up to arrival. Once you arrive in Australia you must visit a bank branch in person with your identification to order a banking card. Some banks may offer preferential rates, such as no monthly service fees for full time students.
