4 AUGUST MAKS: NATIONWIDE The primary goal of MAKS is to demonstrate high technology and openness of the domestic market for joint projects. Large-scale investment in the Russian defense industry, expected to exceed US$ 700 billion in the coming years, derives not only from the intention to strengthen defense potential. A key point is performance improvement in the entire national economy. Most of the defense industry R&D is applied in civil industries. Therefore, the significance of MAKS reaches far beyond the aerospace industry. «MAKS is a critical global airshow. Naturally, I have a soft spot for Le Bourget and believe it still remains number one international airshow; certainly, salons are held in other parts of the globe too. Yet the evolution of MAKS, which my colleagues and I have witnessed virtually since the first salon, is simply astonishing. These include aerobatic teams of the Russian Air Force: Russian Knights is the only team in the world performing group aerobatics in heavy fighter production airplanes; Russian Falcons no one but them can demonstrate to the audience in combat airplanes the elements of low-altitude air combat; Swifts unique repertoire of aerobatic figures performed by the group and pair of airplanes: pyramid, hammer, star, arrow and other aerobatic maneuvers; Berkuty is among the world s few helicopter groups capable of demonstrating superhard aerobatics vertically and horizontally at extremely low height. The Russian Air Force demonstrates here its complete range of machinery and equipment pieces currently in service. MAKS salon is the only place to see the pilot prototypes of aircraft and weapon systems and experimental units which may not be displayed abroad. MAKS 2013 has displayed 70 new samples of military aviation equipment and weaponry whose delivery to foreign customers is not yet allowed. Federal Service of Military-Technical Cooperation of Russia has directly participated in about 200 meetings and negotiations with the representatives of military agencies and industrial companies of foreign countries, a number of final documents have been signed. «As a Russian-Indian joint venture, we always take part in the Moscow aerospace salon. 10 AUGUST MAKS : LOOK INTO THE FUTURE A special section of MAKS display and business program is the University Science and Aviation Technical Creativity of Youth. It demonstrates scientific and technical developments of young scientists and professionals from the leading higher education institutions of Russia and CIS. Its goal is to trigger interest in aviation and space industries among youth, interest in technical creativity, education and professional training at specialized educational institutions. The section also presents job opportunities offered by the domestic aviation and space industry. 11 25-30 AUGUST MAKS: THOSE IN LOVE WITH THE SKY 2015 Since 2007, MAKS has featured Clear Prop! Open Festival for Children s and Youth Aviation and Space Creativity. It is aimed at searching and supporting talented children who are fond of aviation and space, as well as teachers willing to develop creative abilities in their pupils, ingraining love for their homeland, the feeling of pride in Russia s scientific and technical achievements. The festival is the only children s and youth creativity review contest in the world which is held within the framework of world-class aviation and space salon. Here, children can assert themselves as future scientists, design engineers, space researchers. The festival has invariably attracted much attention. National pavilions shall pay for the exhibition space taken on lease at the base price without extra charges for stand configuration (i.e. number of open sides, except for two-floor structures). Participation in the flight program Participation in the Salon flight program allows demonstrating the dynamic characteristics of the aircraft presented. MAKS 2015 flight program consists of: Familiarization flights for customers on business days when professionals work. Demonstration flights on public days. The price excludes 18% VAT. 15
