11 Guidance from the TKI Tower Chief We are back to highest traffic levels since 9/11, but it is more complex traffic then 16 years ago. Most important thing is listening and maintaining two way communica^ons while in the airspace and while taxiing around on the movement areas. We are finding that pilots (instructors) are turning down their volumes saying they need to talk or words like that. With the volume of traffic we really need everyone listening. Check in with the correct informa;on whether on the ground or in the air: Who you are What you are Where you are What you want to do Know what you want to do when you are inbound: Full Stop Full Stop taxi back Touch and Go Stop and Go Low approach Low approach all the way down the runway (not found in any book) Short Approach The Op;on 11

13 Board Posi5on Informa5on President - Shall preside at the mee;ngs of the club and the Board; appoint all commiyees, ac;ng as an ex-officio member thereon; and perform all the du;es as properly pertain to his office. Membership Vice President - Shall act for the President if the Opera;ons Vice President is unable to do so. He or she shall take complete charge of all elec;ons, except self replacement. An officer appointed by the Board shall supervise the elec;on of the Membership Vice President. The Membership Vice President shall report to the Board on all mayers of recrui;ng and training and shall provide programs for regular mee;ngs. Controller - Shall prepare budget and funding informa;on for the Texins Associa;on Clubs; monitor member accounts for payment problems; prepare a monthly and annual financial status; and monitor the ac;vi;es of the Treasurer. Cross-country Maintenance - Shall report to the Board and coordinate with the opera;ons vicepresident on the maintenance of the cross-country fleet. Communica;ons - Shall report to the Board on all mayers involving collec;on or dissemina;on of informa;on that is club business. This officer shall cause to be recorded the minutes of all mee;ngs and shall act as custodian of the communica;ons archive. 13
