2 YOUR SAFARI AT A GLANCE 10 Days Uganda Wildlife Photo Safari The objective of this tour is to create small group Photo Adventure Safaris to feature the established world class photo opportunities Uganda has to offer, complemented by a relaxed and informal learning experience. Our photo safaris are aimed to facilitate visitors and aspiring amateur photographers with the opportunity to come away with the best possible photos of their safari in Uganda. RazorFishImages was established in 2013 as the first photo agency and image bank serving the East African Union (EAU) and currently represents photographers Elk Arne Clausen and Damiano Rossi in the region. RazorFishImages now also offers photo safaris, which are designed and implemented in a cooperation with a select group of established safari or lodge operators in Uganda. As a result of our approach, we fit instruction in between driving, shooting, sight-seeing, eating, and more shooting. Our pro advise will occur more on an as needed basis so that we can help solve issues as they arise. With our hands on approach, you can learn how to turn an ordinary image into an extraordinary image by using your own creativity, based on a casual structure of discussions without any boring classroom lectures. This 10 day photo safari takes you to some of the more famous national parks in Uganda and is aimed at providing you with great wildlife photo opportunities in landscapes with exceptional natural beauty. We are first heading out to the Murchison Falls National Park, then on to the remote Semliki NP with a view of the Rwenzori Mountains and thereafter to the Queen Elizabeth National Park and the opportunity to see the tree climbing lions of Uganda. This safari can be expanded to feature other locations and wildlife adventures such as gorilla tracking in the Mgahinga Gorilla NP and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Scenic drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Queen Elizabeth National Park / North (Kazinga). Sunrise Safari and boat tour on the Kazinga Channel. Optional Activities - Balloon Safari or Chimpanzee Tracking in the Kyambura Gorge. Queen Elizabeth National Park / South (Ishasha). Game drive to the tree climbing lions of Ishasha. Queen Elizabeth to Entebbe. Drive back to Entebbe. Day 10 Departure from Entebbe. Airport transfer and departure from Entebbe. This safari has a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 pax. That is, in addition to a driver / guide and the appointed photographer, this tour therefore has a maximum of 6 pax. Groups with a maximum of 4 including our photographer will be done with our own Land Rover expedition conversion. Groups ranging from 4 to 6 will be done using either standard 4x4 minibus vehicles or 4x4 Landcruiser safari vehicles. 2

3 DETAILED ITINERARY Day 1 - Arrival in Entebbe On day 1 of your safari, your experienced driver/ guide and appointed photographer will pick you up at the airport and take you to your accommodation. You will be given a short briefing and answers to any additional questions you might have regarding your upcoming safari. The northern section of the park contains savanna and borassus palms, acacia trees and riverine woodland with the south dominated by woodland and forest patches that offer an amazing variety of wildlife such as buffalo, lion, elephant, kob as well as Rothschild s giraffe. In the southern sector of the park, you can also venture on chimpanzee tracking in the Budongo forest. The park shares its name with the famous Murchison Falls, whose massive 43 meter falls of boiling water are forced through a 7 meter wide gap before crashing into the wooded country below. In the afternoon, you can enjoy your first game drive on location or participate in a Nile Delta Boat Cruise to visit the papyrus ecosystem that developed in the area where the river Nile joins Lake Albert. The delta is home to a range of rare wetland birds, including the famous shoebill stork. Leopards can also be observed. In the afternoon, you will be going on an impressive tour of the River Nile to the spectacular base of the Murchison Falls, where you can observe hippos, Nile crocodiles and a magnificent variety of tropical birds with the roar of the falls as a backdrop. Once you reach the bottom part of the falls, you will depart the boat and venture on a trek to the top of the falls with a grand view of the mist covered landscape and a close-up view of the falls from above. The magic of Uganda comes alive in these natural marvels; an experience to remember forever. 5 Accommodation Options 3 to 4 stars Murchison River Lodge **** (FB) Nile Safari Lodge **** (FB) Fort Murchison **** (FB) Day 4 - Murchison Falls National Park to Semliki National Park After breakfast we depart to the Semliki National Park, one of the oldest protected area in Uganda and home to a staggering array of flora and fauna. The Reserve is situated in the basin of the Western Rift Valley and is one of the most diverse habitats in Africa with wonderful examples of Riparian forest, and borassus palm forest, intersected with short and high grass savannas. Chimps exist next to rare forest elephants, lions, buffaloes as well as a variety of other species recognized in Western Uganda. The park is home to 95 species of mammals and over 500 species of tropical birds as well as the world's largest concentration of hippos. And then you will experience an exciting boat cruise on the famous Kazinga Channel, a 32 km long natural link between two of the largest lakes in the area, Lake Edward to Lake George, as it meanders through the lush park with its abundance of wildlife. Be assured that Kazinga will be one of the highlights of your safari. 5

7 Option 1 - Balloon Safari: You have the optional opportunity to start the day early with a new and unique way to experience the wilderness of Queen Elizabeth National Park teaming with wildlife. Catch the sunrise, as you silently glide over the park in a large hot air balloon and enjoy a bush breakfast in the wild with the serene vistas of rolling green hills and savannahs as a backdrop. Option 2 - Chimpanzee Tracking: Optionally, you can also go on an exhilarating search for the chimpanzees in the valley of the Kyambura Gorge with the further opportunity of observing a great number of tropical bird species in their natural habitat. The stunning Kyambura Gorge, also called the Valley of the Apes, is located in the far eastern corner of the Queen Elizabeth National Park and is about 1 kilometre across at its broadest point and 100 meters deep. Legends have been built around the tree-climbing lions in Queen Elizabeth National Park and spotting one of the cats is a very special experience indeed as there are only two places in the world where you can find tree climbing lions. If components of this itinerary are not available at the time of booking, we shall endeavour to offer suitable alternatives. Please note that Gorilla permits of US $ 600,00 per permit in Uganda and/ or US $ 750,00 per permit in Rwanda and US $ 150,00 for Chimpanzee permits in Kibale, Uganda need to be paid together with the deposit. The price for these permits is nonrefundable, however in case of cancellation, we shall endeavour to resell excess tickets through the available official channels. The appointed driver/ tour guide will accompany clients throughout the safari, assist them with check-in at accommodation and share his knowledge of flora and fauna. A language specific tour guide is available against a surcharge. Where applicable for charter or scheduled local flights, the following baggage restrictions apply: 15 kgs on all flights in small, soft-sided bags. Abbreviations for the meal plan are as follows:. Not all service providers release or guarantee their rates well in advance and therefore the itinerary price may be subject to changes without prior notice.
