1 THE RITZ-CARLTON, DOVE MOUNTAIN GUEST ACTIVITIES HIKING & MOUNTAIN BIKING Hiking & Petro glyphs: Nestled in the Tortolita Mountains, The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain has access to over 20 miles of hiking trails. Whether you are looking for an all day excursion, a quick expedition around the canyon or a magical way to end your day, we offer hikes for all levels of experience. Witness the ancient petro glyphs behind the resort that still are visible from the Hohokam Indians as they inhabited this land from 300 B.C. until 1450 A.D. *Trail Maps, water and hiking sticks available at Concierge Desk. Self-Guided Biking: Venture out and explore the Sonoran Desert on your own mountain bike as you journey down through the cactus-lined preserve trails. *Helmets and water provided. Ridge and Ruin Tour Tuesday & Friday 9:30 AM (starting 09/12) Cactus Discovery Tour Thursday & Sunday 9:30 AM (starting 09/12) Discover the upper reaches of the Alamo ridge, summit the only peak that has trail access in the Tortolita Mountains then descend into the Wild Burro canyon to explore the historic ruins of the T Bench Bar Ranch. This hike ascends over 1000 feet and is approximately 5 miles in length taking hours to complete and includes a souvenir backpack, and water. Sunset Vista Tour Thursday, Friday and Saturday- 5 p.m.(starting 09/12) Leave the days stresses behind you and experience the Sonoran desert at it s height of beauty sunset. Take in the aura of a Saguaro cactus as the sun sets behind it, view 9 different mountain ranges and get a birds eye view of The Golf Club at Dove Mountain. This hike rises approximately 400 feet and traverses 2.2 miles along the Upper Javelina trail taking hours. Once reaching the bottom of the trail board the Ritz Carlton shuttle for a ride back to The Ignite Lounge where you will receive a complimentary signature Sunset cocktail. Witness a multitude of cactus varieties, walk amongst giant Saguaros, and taste the bounty that is the Sonoran Desert. On this adventure you will navigate the Upper and Lower Javelina trails where you have the opportunity to sample different cacti, cacti fruit and other edibles*, sit atop Pride Rock and take in vast panoramic views of Wild Burro Canyon. This hike has rolling terrain with total elevation change of over 900 feet and is approximately 3.5 miles in length taking hours to complete and includes a souvenir backpack, and water. Ancient Rock Art Tour Saturday & Wednesday 9:30 AM (starting 09/12) On this hike you will examine several Hohokam and archaic tribal sites containing rock imagery and morteros. Visit well known and secret locations where the ancient ones lived, worked and died. This hike is mostly flat with only about 300 feet of elevation change and is approximately 3.5 miles in length taking hours. This hike includes a souvenir backpack and water. Private Hiking: For a private experience, customize your own hike with one of our very own Dove Mountain Rangers. 2 GEOCACHING ADVENTURE For a fun, interesting and educational family activity, we invite you to experience our Family Geocaching Adventure. A GPS device guides you through the Wild Burro Canyon hiking trails to predetermined locations. At each location you will need to search to locate the hidden Treasure Chest where you will find an animal footprint. Use the clues in the Treasure Chest to determine which animal to stamp on the handout. Canyon Geocaching is much more adventuresome activity that takes place throughout the Wild Burro canyon trail system. Participants will locate cache boxes where they will be asked to participate in environmental experiments, pop culture and give their interpretation of ancient petroglyphs. This activity can take up to 3 hours. Family Geocaching - $60 per family (suggested ages 5-12) Canyon Geocaching - $75 per family (suggested ages 12 and up Both Geocache adventures include a GPS unit and (1) Ritz-Carlton Dove Mountain logo backpack with trail mix and bottled water. SPIRIT OF ADVENTURE: S MORES EXPERIENCE Pick up your own yummy S mores Kit at Ignite and roast these gooey treats over a wood burning chimenea. *Smore s Kit includes: Homemade Graham Crackers, Homemade Marshmallows, and a mixture of Valrhona Dark, Milk, and White Chocolate. (All ingredients for the S mores kit are made in-house, by our very own Pastry Culinary Team) 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening at Ignite Each kit makes approximately five to six S mores and may be purchased for $24 each at Ignite. COMPLIMENTARY RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES The Sunset Celebration (Daily at Sunset, Ignite Terrace) Join us at the Ignite Lounge and Bar Terrace at least a half hour before sunset every evening for a soulstirring acoustical experience by a local Native-American flautist. Our Sunset Celebration honors the ancient Hohokam tribe that once inhabited Dove Mountain from 300 B.C. until 1450 A.D., as you listen to their story and reflect upon the day. Group Fitness Classes (Daily at 8am, Fitness Center) Whether you are looking for some variety and inspiration into your daily workout, one of our classes is sure to fit your needs. Classes are held in the Movement Studio near the Fitness Center. Class participation is on a first-come, first-served basis. Family Fun Activities (Daily from 6am to 6pm, At Resort) Create lasting memories together with a variety of activities always available around the resort to explore and enjoy. From Badminton and Ping Pong at Turquesa Pool, to Horseshoes, Bocce Ball and Lassos out on the lawn, entice your inner child to come out and play. A variety of board games and playing cards are also available at the Concierge Desk for guests to check out and enjoy as requested.

3 DOVE MOUNTAIN RANGERS Our Dove Mountain Rangers Program offers daily family activities as well as a supervised program designed for children ages Your Junior Ranger will enjoy a variety of physical and creative activities ranging from Native American games, crafting ancient rock art, cowboy exploration to artisan training. Join our Rangers during their complimentary family activities as well and you could pet our live snakes or learn about our spiders at Meet The Desert Friends from 1pm to 3pm daily. Stay and watch as they feed our Desert Tortoise Rocky at 3pm in his natural habitat just outside the Ranger s room. See how arrowheads are made on Thursday, Friday and Saturday during the Ranger s Arrowhead Making Demo taking place from 11:30am to 12:30pm. SUPERVISED PROGRAMS INCLUDE: Half day program (9am 12pm OR 1pm 4pm) $70 per child Lunch not included but may be added at cost. Full day program (9am-4pm) $135 per child Lunch is included with full day program. Kids Night Out (6pm-9pm) $85 per child. Dinner included with Kids Night Out Activities include games, movies, and arts & crafts Extended hours offered until 11 p.m. for an additional charge $15 per hour, per child. Themed Programs: Cowboy Adventure, Native American Artisan, Dove Mountain Explorer, Viva Mexico and Rangers Night Out. JUNIOR RANGER S PACKAGE The Junior Ranger Package is an enhanced program that the children, if interested can become a Ritz-Carlton Junior Ranger. Upon check-in, the children are offered a log book to sign off on the Recreational activities they complete. Any child or family that wishes to become a JR ranger can pay a charge of $200 which includes a S mores Kit, Family Geocaching, Tent Experience in the room, Half of a day in the Children s program and a Ranger shirt embroidered with the Ritz- Carlton logo and JR ranger imprint over the pockets. In addition to the package, if the child wants to complete 9 of the 12 log book Recreational activities, they will become an official Junior Ranger, and get the corresponding pins that go along with each activity. Upon completion of the 9 activities there will be a quiz and short ceremony with a graduation certificate and a return JR ranger card that allows them special privileges on future return visits such as accompanying ranger on daily responsibilities and receiving education classes on desert safety, educate, etc. $200 one time fee for the first registered child per family.
