2 SIKKIM DIARIES The adorning heights of Himalayas have never disheartened anyone. Be it present in Jammu or Kashmir or Himachal or Uttarakhand. If only the magnificent mountains surrendered themselves to these boundaries. Crossing international borders a.k.a. Nepal, Himalayan Ranges open up once again in India, to the meditative state of Sikkim. Though the perimeters of the state remains smaller compared to other Himalayan states but Sikkim bags many medals in its merit. Mt. Kanchenjunga crowns the state at one end while the lush green alpine valleys and majestic waterfalls and lakes adorn the lands of Sikkim. Once a monarchy in its own time, Sikkim became an Indian State in the year 1975 but somewhere it still stands out from the rest of the country by practicing organic farming and living by the motto of Swachh Bharat. With old fashioned roads which were once a part of ancient Silk route, culturally rich and extravagant monasteries in co-existence with Nepali temples; Sikkim binds it all and caters to wide range of tourists. If there is roughness to reach atop Nathula Pass at a height of 4,310m; to balance it out Gurudongmar Lake gratifies the thirst at 5,183m. If there is uniqueness in the lifestyle which leaves one spellbound; the hospitality fuses in the air and makes one a Sikkim-ite! Sikkim thus very gracefully tags itself with extremities Where Nature Smiles. Biking around Sikkim not only soothes the adrenaline rush amongst adventure junkies but also liberates one in this mountain kingdom. So get set and go! 4 Day 01 Arrive Siliguri. Do your shopping for rest of the ride. Bike Allocation and Ride Orientation in the evening. Overnight stay at Siliguri Hotel. Day 02 Ride from Siliguri to Gangtok. On the way ride across the meandering roads and scenic views. Stop by river Teesta for some photographs. Arrive Gangtok by the evening and explore the vibrant Gangtok town. Overnight stay in Gangtok Hotel. Day 03 Ride from Gangtok to Lachen. Today you will enter the North Sikkim and to the alpine meadows witnessing the Mt. Kanchenjunga. The terrain changes and the ride raises it s adventure bar as you are all set to enter the Chopta Valley. Overnight stay in Guesthouse/Homestay.

5 Day 04 Early morning after breakfast ride towards the high altitude Gurudongmar Lake at ft. The landscape flips to barren mountains as you cruise in the Chopta Valley. Reach back to Lachen for lunch, and continue the ride towards Lachung. The base point for Yumthang and Valley of Flowers. Overnight stay in Guesthouse/Homestay. Day 05 As we start today s ride, we enter the Valley of Flowers. The valley is full of rhododendron flowers. Crossing Yumthang we hit the Zero Point. This is the end of the road and China is Stone s throw away. Reach Lachung for Lunch, and continue the ride towards Gangtok. Evening is at leisure and overnight stay at Gangtok Hotel. Day 06 The full day is at leisure in the capital city of Sikkim Gangtok. Gangtok has the perfect blend of rich culture and urbanization. Gangtok showcases all the shades from Monasteries to Casions to peaceful gardens to bustling MG Road. Overnight stay in Gangtok Hotel.

6 Day 07 Today s ride is passing across meandering roads of East Sikkim, serene lakes, Nathula Pass and the famous Old Silk Route. Today you will ride across quaint villages Gnathang and Kupup and enter Zuluk. The 56 Hairpin bends before Zuluk is every riders Utopia. Thambi view point gives the complete view of the loops Reach Zuluk by the evening. Overnight stay at Homestay to blend into the local culture. D Day 08 The day is to start the ride towards South and West Sikkim. Enroute crossing Ravangla, a picturesque town with huge buddha statue, we continue the ride towards Pelling. Pelling is known for it s holy lakes, old monasteries and pristine landscape. We reach Pelling by evening and the evening is at leisure. Overnight stay at Hotel. Day 09 East + West + North + South, after we rode across all terrains of Sikkim, this day we head towards the final destination Siliguri to end our ride.

Furthermore I am aware that it is always advisable to consult a physician before embarking on any new adventure activity.

10 In the event of my suffering any medical or health difficulty whilst performing any physical activity, and particularly where I may lose consciousness or be unable to deal with matters myself, I hereby authorize Tantra AdventureZ. To contact a physician and to take me to such physician and/or any appropriate medical clinic or other hospital and to use the services of an ambulance where appropriate and I undertake liability for all costs thereby incurred. I am aware of all inherent dangers during the trip. I acknowledge and understand I will be engaging in activities that involve risk of serious injury, including permanent disability or death and severe social and economic losses which might result not only from my own action, inaction or negligence, but action, inaction or negligence of others, or the condition of the premises on or off site or of any equipment used and further, that there may be other unknown risks not reasonably foreseeable at this time. I assume all these risks and expressly waive, release, discharge and agree not to sue Tantra AdventureZ. For any loss, damage, death, disability, injury, or action of any kind for participating in this camp or any other activities organized by Tantra AdventureZ. And I hereby indemnify and hold Tantra AdventureZ. Harmless against any claims by my dependents or other third parties whatsoever arising by reason of my death, disability or injury whilst participating in Adventure Activity. 7. I am aware that Tantra AdventureZ does not accept responsibility for any loss, theft and/or damage to vehicles and/or personal property left in vehicles or any other area at the location I am camping. 8. I understand and accept that no refunds, whether in whole or in part, will be granted if I cannot complete the activity. 9. It is in the nature of a holiday of this kind to be flexible. The day to day agenda and ultimate goal of the tour is taken as an aim and not as a contractual obligation. We shall not be responsible for the delays or alterations in the program or expenses incurred due to Conflict, international or internal flight/train/bus delay or cancellations, strikes, sickness, bad weather, natural calamity like landslides/cloud burst/avalanche, road block, war, riots, vehicle problems, political closures, sudden shut down of government office eg immigration office/dc office/rsta or similar. 10. Participants need to bear their own expenses of the day (accommodation + meals, apart from the package cost) in case of change in itinerary due to Conflict, international or internal flight/train/bus delay or cancellations, strikes, sickness, bad weather, natural calamity like landslides/cloud burst/avalanche, road block, war, riots, vehicle problems, political closures, sudden shut down of government office eg immigration office/dc office/rsta or any other reason which is not under control of Tantra Adventurez. 11. In case any Rider wants to drop the bike on the way other that the starting point of the Ride i.e. Siliguri then Rider have to bear the transportation charges of the bike, which is Rs 10,000/- per bike. 12. The cost is for the entire package and there would be no refunds in case any part of the Package is not availed. 13. We would not be liable to pay any kind of compensation arising because of any mishap, sickness, accident etc. 14. Your participation in a trip is entirely at your own risk. We are NOT responsible or liable for any injuries you may suffer, fatal or otherwise. Also, we are NOT responsible for any loss or damage to your property, including your motorcycle, irrespective of how any damage may have been caused. 15. I notify that I do not have any Criminal Cases/Police Cases running against me. 16. I agree that this constitutes the entire agreement between me and Tantra AdventureZ. And I acknowledge that I conclude this Agreement of my own free will without force or coercion and not having been induced to do so by reason of any representations on the part of Tantra AdventureZ. and any agreement to terminate this Agreement or to amend or vary it in any way, shall not be of any force or effect unless and until reduced to writing and signed by the relevant parties 17.
