Expedition Trip 1 (two persons, seven to ten days) To CERS new site, with villa, floating lodge, tree house or jungle tribe thatched abode as housing options, all at a pristine mangrove-filled riverside location, in Palawan of the southern Philippines. The journey would include visiting a community cave developed with help from CERS, trekking to a jungle tribe village, rafting with overnight camping in tents on a pristine river with the Batak jungle tribe with less than 300 individuals surviving, and overnight outing to crystal islands for snorkeling on HM Explorer II, the CERS outrigger boat. (Ideal for established or aspiring photographers) (Difficulty rating: comfortable to rough) (Mild weight reduction program) 12. Expedition Trip 2 (two persons, eight to ten days) A circuit trip to the Tibetan plateau, starting from CERS Zhongdian Center in Shangri-la to the birth house of the 7 th Dalai Lama (a CERS supported site) and on horseback to sacred Ge Nyen Mountain, surrounded by glaciers. The trip would also include visit to nearby CERS project sites, like the Lisu hunter lodge, the Golden Monkey nature reserve, the meditation retreat of Damozong, the first patriarch master who brought Zen Buddhism to China, and the Yak Cheese workshop. Family or Buddy Expedition Trip 3 (two to six persons, eight days) Cruise on 106-foot HM Explorer I, with seven cabins and a crew and staff of nine, sailing the upper Irrawaddy River north to dolphin villages, and south of Mandalay to the historical city of Bagan. In between visiting hidden riverside villages and morning markets daily, as well as cultural and religious sites, and BBQ at select riverside secluded locations. Evening entertainment includes viewing of exclusive CERS archival films. This is followed by three-day visit to Inle Lake and stay at the CERS Burmese Cat Reintroduction site, the Inle Heritage House is recently selected by Architectural Digest as one of the eight best island lodges in the world. Nearby are the CERS aquarium of indigenous fish, a bamboo craftsman studio, and our own small but unique Exhibit House about Myanmar. (Comfort rating: AAA) (Good weight-gain program) 10. Expedition Trip 4 (two persons, eight days) Trekking in Bhutan high country of Gasa Dzong where a recently built road provides the only access to the castle monastery with a sacred medicinal hot spring at the foot of the mountain where locals hike long distance to reach. The royal family also maintain a rest house there. CERS help support a monastic project here. As respite for the rough road journey, side trips would be planned to other non-tourist locations, including visit with Princess Kesang on a private tour of a 500-year-old pagoda temple with exquisite murals being restored, with support from CERS. No promise, but possibly joining How Man for tea in the palace with the Royal Grandmother of Bhutan. (Comfort rating: Strenuous first, comfort later) (Weight loss, then weight gain)

This is a highly important chart first published in 1775 from soundings and surveys made between by Alexander Dalrymple, a Scottish hydrographer employed by the East India Company to try identify an alternative port for the British, instead of using Macao as their China coastal base along the Pearl River estuary. This chart is the first to note that Lantao is an island not connected to the mainland. Although mariners and fishermen of the South China Sea had already been using the channel through Victoria Harbour for over a century, this map still considered future Hong Kong (labelled Fang Chin Chow) as connected to the mainland, yet with the shape of the Shek O peninsula and adjacent Tai Tam Bay accurately drawn in. There is no consensus how Dalrymple got the name Fang Chin Chow for Hong Kong, but most scholars believe it is likely from local fishermen working on the spot. As Dalrymple turned to the south side of Hong Kong, he for the first time, surveyed and marked the position of Waglaang (Waglan), Pooloy (Po Toi), Song-keo, and Lamma. In the days of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the island Song-keo was already marked in several Chinese compass compendiums as the landmark where the junks should align their compass towards the next landmark, DaiWanShan, to set the course away from the coastline of south China towards the south of Hainan. From here began the sea voyage, according to the compendium, that would lead boats all the way to Sri Lanka s Colombo.

7 2. One bottle of Magnum Chateaux Latour 1966 Tasted blind as a vintage comparison at the Valandraud vertical, the 1996 Latour is a wine that continues to perplex. The palate is medium-bodied with light and supple tannin, tart red berry fruit, black pepper and plenty of tobacco indicating its Pauillac origins. 1. Wild and rarest honey collected by the Batak jungle hill tribe of Palawan in the southern Philippines. While there are various types of wild honey, these very limited amount collected are from the deadliest bees, which build their hive half above the ground and half below. There are fewer than 300 Batak people remaining and they inhabit the deepest jungle of Palawan. CERS works with this hunter/collector tribe in an attempt to preserve their cultural dignity while providing innovative economic advancement through collaborative project.
