President s Corner By Tom Martin February 2018 Our first newsletter for 2018 moving in to another year at Hicks Airfield. Welcome to all new property owners and wishing everyone a great year ahead. Our general membership meeting in December had a great turnout and provided a good transition to the New Year. One of our most important changes at the end of the year was moving our pilot s association management from PMG, who served us for over 10 years, to a new company Marc Foreman and Associates - for 2018. Please see other information in this newsletter regarding this change. The airfield continues to move forward with improvements and part of a fast growing area of North Texas. Neighborhoods and vehicle traffic seems to have increased significantly in the last few months. Please take care when using taxiways and observe the 15 mph speed limit for safety. If possible when entering or exiting the field in vehicles, please use a route that does not effect the main taxiway to prevent meeting departing or arriving aircraft on the main taxiway. It may be necessary to place signs for visitors and property owners indicating the use of alternate taxiways to accomplish alternate routes to avoid the vehicle and aircraft conflicts. Please consider the impact to our neighbors when working around the hangars. Recently a few of our taxiways have been blocked by aircraft for various reasons and unfortunately a few speeding drivers residents and visitors need to be corrected. Our BOD meetings will continue to be every other month on the second Thursday. Our 1 st meeting of 2018 will be at Pro Aircraft Flight School at 7:00pm Thursday, February 8th, and I m hoping you can attend. Remember this is your Airfield and your participation and voice needs to be heard at these meetings Best Regards, Tom Martin President Hicks Airfield Pilots Association 3
