Below is a sampling of the noteworthy incidents on Grand Island. Date Street Type Narrative 6/21 Winkler Dr. Suspicious Incident The complainant states that his car alarm activated during the late hours of the night and when he went to check it appeared someone had been inside the vehicle. Deputies checked the area but were unable to locate any persons. Nothing was reported stolen at the time of the incident. 6/21 Bedell Rd. Loud Music The complainant states that loud music was coming from an apartment in his complex during the late hours of the night. Deputies made contact with the owners and advised them. 6/21 South State Pkwy. Deputies located a suspicious vehicle parked on the side Suspicious Person of the roadway during the late hours of the night. with Vehicle Deputies advised the driver, who left without incident. The complainant states that his neighbors were making a 6/21 Bedell Rd. Loud Music lot of noise during the late hours of the night. Deputies made contact with the subjects and advised them. 6/21 Bedell Rd. Disorderly Conduct After responding to another complaint of loud noise, Deputies arrested 49 y/o Timothy Mosgrove of Grand Island for Disorderly Conduct (Violation) and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana (Violation). Animal Complaint 6/21 Grand Island Blvd. Traffic Arrest The complainant states that a raccoon was on the side of the road and appeared very sick. The complainant called back prior to the arrival of Patrol and confirmed the raccoon was deceased and he would dispose of the remains. Welfare Check Operation 3 rd Degree (Misdemeanor), Operating a vehicle with a suspended registration (Misdemeanor) and other traffic infractions after a DMV check showed her license and registration were currently suspended. Breslawski was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Grand Island Court. The complainant states that a neighbor s dog was barking for several hours. Deputies were unable to make contact with the animal s owner. The Dog Control Officer was notified. The complainant states that a female subject appeared to be selling stolen merchandise in the parking lot of Wendy s. Deputies checked the area and determined the complaint to be unfounded. The complainant states that he heard yelling and screaming coming from Turner s Port of Call. Deputies arrived on location and determined the argument to be over a dispute between a patron and the owner. The patron left without incident. The complainant states a female subject was attempting to hitchhike while walking down the road. Deputies checked the area and determined the complaint to be unfounded. The complainant states that 2 motorcycles were racing down the street. Deputies checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicles. The complainant states loud music was coming from the River Oaks Marina during the late hours of the night. Deputies located several subjects on a boat with loud music on and advised them. The complainant states that she heard several loud fireworks being set off. Deputies checked the area but were unable to locate anyone using fireworks. The complainant states loud music was coming from a nearby residence during the late hours of the night. Deputies checked the area and determined the complaint to be unfounded. Deputies located an ATV on a sales lot with its lights on and keys in the ignition. Deputies secured the keys in the business overnight drop box and determined the incident to be an oversight. The complainant states that a male subject parked his vehicle and then walked in between his neighbor s house during the late hours of the night. Deputies checked and determined the subject lived at a nearby residence. The complainant states that vehicles were parked on the roadway obstructing traffic. Deputies located the owners of the vehicles and they were removed. Deputies responded to a report of a 911 hang up call. Deputies spoke to the occupants and determined the call to be a misdial.

Nothing was reported stolen at the time of the incident. an unknown person(s) used a BB Gun to break the window to his vehicle. The complainant states that a raccoon was inside of a sandbox on the premise. The raccoon left prior to the arrival of Patrol. The complainant states that she heard several fireworks being set off in the area of Sunoco. Deputies checked the area but were unable to locate any subjects using fireworks. an unknown person(s) broke into the business by smashing a window and stole various items from inside. Ongoing. Deputies located several youths in the weeds just off of the parkway. The youths stated they were looking for a place to fish. They were advised and left without incident. The complainant states that an unknown person(s) made fraudulent charges on his credit card. The complainant states that as she was driving she observed a naked male subject walking around in the yard of a residence. Deputies located the male subject, who was clothed, and determined he resided at the home. The subject was advised. The complainant states that his dog was running loose in the neighborhood and he could not catch it. Patrol assisted the owner in locating the dog. The complainant states that a pickup truck was swerving all over the roadway. Deputies located the vehicle at the registered owners address but were unable to make contact with the driver. The complainant states that a male subject was running in the roadway into the path of oncoming cars. The male subject repeated this act several times and was almost struck by a vehicle. Patrol arrived on scene and observed the subject standing in a nearby parking lot. As Deputies approached the subject he ran into the roadway, nearly being struck by a car, at which point the Deputies had to physically subdue the man and drag him from the

Batherson was transported to the Erie County Holding Center pending his arraignment in the Town of Grand Island Court. The complainant states she heard a loud gunshot somewhere in the area. Deputies checked the area but heard no shots being fired. The complainant states that a dirt bike was operating in the roadway. Deputies located the dirt bike nearby parked at the owners address and advised the driver. Deputies responded to a report of a 911 hang up call. Deputies spoke to the occupants and determined the call to be a misdial. The complainant states that a large dog was running loose through the neighborhood. The Dog Control Officer was notified. an unknown person(s) entered their unlocked vehicle. Nothing was reported stolen. Following a traffic stop, Deputies arrested 34 y/o William Cowan of Buffalo for Operating a Motor Vehicle with a suspended registration and other traffic infractions after a DMV check showed his registration was currently suspended. Cowan was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Grand Island Court. Deputies responded to a report of low hanging wires. The wires were determined not to be a hazard and the property authorities were notified. The complainant states that a pickup truck was parked on the side of the road with the door open and a dog lying underneath the vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle and the owner was advised. The complainant states that sometime in recent hours, an unknown person(s) stole 2 grills from his property. Following a traffic stop, Deputies arrested 27 y/o Tammy Popovec of Grand Island for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3 rd Degree (Misdemeanor) and another traffic infraction after a DMV check showed her license was currently suspended. Popovec was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Grand Island Court. The complainant states that sometime during the day, an unknown person(s) stole various items from his unlocked residence. Ongoing. 6/27 Love Rd. Employees of Tops state that a female subject was caught shoplifting. Deputies investigation led to the arrest of 55 y/o Karen Coomber of Grand Island for Petit Larceny (Class A Misdemeanor). Coomber was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Grand Island Court. The complainant states that a neighbor was having an unlawful bonfire in his yard. Deputies checked and determined the complaint to be unfounded. Deputies responded to 15 Burglary False alarm calls and Fire Alarms during the dates of this report.
