share the magic of the season This Winter, Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council is thrilled to launch Lisburn Light Festival; a series of spectacular light attractions in the heart of Lisburn City Centre. Share in the Magic of the Season as you marvel at the captivating Light Canopy producing dazzling displays the length and breadth of. Enjoy the enchanting Christmas Tree light shows in projecting out over the interactive light floor. Catch the first glimpse of the magical lights at our annual Christmas Lights Switch On event on Thursday 22 November and enjoy the festive parade. Lisburn Light Festival will then run every night until 25th January 2019. A full activities programme has been developed for all the family to enjoy this winter. There will be music and entertainment along with fire jugglers and much more. Don t miss our key events including Frock Around the Clock Fair, Nativity Live and Rock Around the Christmas Tree Outdoor arty, all taking place in during December. More exciting events will be taking place to brighten up the days in January too. key events Meet Santa's Reindeer Frock Around the Clock Fair Saturday 24th November 12.00pm-4.00pm Saturday 1st December 12.00pm-5.00pm Come along and meet the reindeer; jump on the miniature Santa Express train and enjoy a fun festive day in. Local children have lovingly decorated their own reindeer and are looking forward to seeing them taking pride of place in Lisburn City Centre for this special family event. Frock Around the Clock are delighted to return to Lisburn for the Christmas Craft in the City fair. This event will feature 35 sellers of beautiful and original handmade, holistic and vintage goods. Get your Christmas shopping wrapped up with an amazing array of unique handmade and vintage loveliness to choose from! Nativity Live in Rock Around the Christmas Tree Saturday 8th December 1.00pm Thursday 13th December 4.00pm-7.00pm A dramatisation of the Christmas Nativity, with carols, music, action, prayer and a live donkey, written by Richard A Carter of St Martin-in-the-Fields. Meet on the steps of Lisburn Cathedral at 1pm for a torch-lit procession to led by musicians and the Lisburn Community Choir. After, you are invited to Lisburn Cathedral for Dazzle, a free event for families. will be transformed into a massive family friendly dance party with amazing outdoor lighting, disco balls, Christmas characters and lively tunes from DJ Andy Baird. Join in the party and enjoy dancing on the interactive light floor beside the stunning Christmas Tree as it projects more light than ever before. The festive season will start with the annual Switching On of the Lights on Thursday 22nd November in, Lisburn from 6.30pm. This year the parade is themed The Lion, the Switch-On and the Wardrobe. re-arade entertainment from 6.30pm by Lisburn Community Children s Choir and festive characters. Lantern parade through the City Centre from approx. 7.00pm. The Mayor, Councillor Uel Mackin will switch on the City s Christmas Lights with Santa at 7.15pm. Follow the Magical Window Trail on 14th December and Saturday 15th December throughout Lisburn City Centre. Be enchanted as shop fronts come alive with performances from local theatre companies.
