There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:1-2 PIONEER CAMP 2017

SUMMER CAMP 2017 Summer was made for camp and you don t want to miss out! Experience Pioneer s best with our beach front on Lake Erie, 65 acres of adventurous woods, games, campfires, our 50ft high ropes adventure course plus so much more! Pioneer creates an intentional Christian community that submerses campers in Christian values, facilitated by a Christ-centered staff. All summer staff go through in-depth training for each camp. With new and exciting activities paired with the camp classic, it s a match made in heaven. 2

Our theme for the summer is Life Through the Spirit There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:1-2 Have you ever felt like something was weighing you down? That you were stuck? Trapped? We will be exploring what freedom looks like in a sinful world. Ultimately, we have been given life through our Lord and Savior s death. Jesus came to fulfil the law of sin and death so that we might believe and have eternal life with him. Get ready to discover more about the Holy Spirit. What the fruit of the spirit is and how we are refined by trials and tribulations. Come to Pioneer and join us as we celebrate our Life through the Spirit! 3

14 MILITARY CAMPS

S.T.A.R. FAMILY CAMP Pioneer Camp and Retreat Center, Inc. is honored to partner with Western New York Heroes in order to bring about this much needed program for children, from New York and all over the United States, who have lost a loved who was serving in the U.S. Military. Operation S.T.A.R. Camp is being offered to bring surviving children together and to let them know that their Service Member will always be remembered and that they are not alone. Operation S.T.A.R. Camp attendees will be equipped with long-term and immediate emotional help, hope, and healing that will aid in their grieving of their departed loved one who once served our beloved country. But, best of all, there will also be opportunities to simply have fun! Throughout the course of the week camp attendees will be able to go kayaking & canoeing, tubing, swimming, climb Pioneer s High Ropes Adventure Course and jump off the zip line, play games with each other, have cookouts, and even sleep out under the golden stars at night. June 25-30 15

OPERATION PURPLE CAMP The National Military Family Association s Operation Purple camps are open to military children with a parent or guardian from any service branch. Priority is given to children who have a parent or guardian who incurred service-connected injuries or illness on or after 9/11 or will have a parent or guardian deployed during a 15-month window. Operation Purple is a time for having fun, making friends, and reminding military kids that they serve too. This summer camp aims to help military kids experience carefree fun, teach them about coping skills to help deal with deployment-related stress, and foster relationships with other children who know exactly what they are going through. Please call the office to register. A $25.00 Hold My Spot registration fee will be given back at Sunday registration. 16 July 9-14

MILITARY FAMILY WEEK The families will be able to participate in all aspects of Pioneer life as family campers. We will provide separate programming for 7-12 year olds, 13-17 year olds, and 18+. Programming can include traditional activities such as: high ropes, low ropes, boating, crafts, biking, tie-dye, devotions, groups games, and more. Specialized activities for this week will include specific programming for military families that will help them grow as a family especially during these difficult times in the military. Please join us for this exciting week at Pioneer for the whole family! July 16-21 17

Pioneer has a campership program that allows campers in need of financial assistance to come to summer camp at a reduced rate and this is only possible through the generosity of loving donors and heartfelt supporters. CAMPERSHIP PROGRAM Camperships will be awarded as long as funding is available. A minimum deposit of $50 is required. Awards will be applied to your account when your registration is processed and will be noted on the registration confirmation that you receive. In order to serve as many campers and families as possible, we can only extend one campership per child. Camperships might be likely to be limited as summer approaches, so please inquire as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. If you d like to help further support camperships or if you re interested in applying for one, please contact: Rev. Alex Knowles, Executive Director (716) 549-1420 Alex.Knowles@pioneercamp.org 18
