1. VENUE The sixth international conference of the Pan African Fish and Fisheries Association (PAFFA 6) will be held in Mangochi, Malawi from 24 to 28 September 2018. REGISTRATION Please kindly note that only that have paid registration fees will be allowed access to the conference halls. For those that have already paid registration fees kindly remember bring proof of payment. Registration fees can also be paid at the registration desk on days arrival and early morning on 24 th September 2018. A conference pack consisting of conference documents/folder, tshirt, pen, notepad, folder, usb flash drive and conference bag will also be provided. Registration will start on 22 September 2018 at 08:00hrs and continue till 24 th September. Payment of registration fees will be made at the registration desk. 3. CONFERENCE MEALS Lunch as well as morning and afternoon teas will be offered at the conference venue Monday to Friday. 4. CONFERENCE DINNER This will be communicated at the conference 5. AIRPORT TRANSFERS 2

Airport transfers are being arranged for all registered delegates through either Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) in Lilongwe or Chileka International Airport in Blantyre. International participants are required to submit their final itinerary/ticket to the secretariat, before 17 th September 2018, to enable preparation of ground transfers to the conference venue from either KIA or Chileka. For those that are travelling by road, we still request that you write us and inform us on your arrival dates. Submit your flight details online at the conference webpage under the Flight details section. Please look out for the PAFFA6 banner/placard at the airport Please note there will be a two hour plus (depending on airport of entry) drive to get the conference venue. 6. TRAVEL AND LOGISTICS Participants will cover their own travel and accommodation costs to Malawi unless supported under any of the conference travel grants. Buses will be available to transport participants to and from the conference venue to lodgings outside the conference venue. We however require that those who made individual bookings to lodges and hotels inform us of their bookings to facilitate transportation schedules. More details will be available upon registration in Mangochi. 7. EXCURSION There is a tour planned at a fee to be advised upon registration. The destination is Cape Maclear. Date and fee to be communicated. 8. ACCOMMODATION Participants are expected to make their own hotel arrangements unless supported by any of the conference grants. The local organizers have arranged accommodation at hotels and lodges close to Sun n Sand and ground transportation will be available from the 22 th to 30 th September 2018. Participants can arrange for either one of the following options with the conference organizers: Option 1: Kindly contact secretariat to facilitate your hotel booking. Option 2: Kindly provide hotel/lodge details to secretariat for planning purposes on ground transfers if you are already booked into a hotel close to the venue. 11. EXHIBITIONS Feel free to book a stand for exhibition. Each exhibitor will be provided with an exhibition stand measuring 3metres by 3 meters, 1 table and 2 chairs. The cost for each stand is 400 USD for international exhibitors and 300, 000 Malawi Kwacha for local exhibitors. Exhibitors are free to book more than one stand. CLIMATE Mangochi is hot and sunny in the month of September with average daily temperatures of 29 0 C. You are therefore advised to bring light clothing for use during the day and light warm clothes to use in the evening. You may also bring sunglasses, hats and sunscreen for use during excursions. 13. CURRENCY The Malawi Kwacha is the nationally accepted currency in Malawi. However, international service providers like Sun and Sun and selected hotel accept the United States Dollar or use of a VISA/masterdard. For your own convenience, kindly have Malawi Kwachas readily available for use within the country. Mangochi has several banks that can be used for forex exchange. These include: National Bank of Malawi, NBS Bank, Standard Bank, FMB and FDH Banks The current exchange rate is about MKW727 to 1USD. 14. POWER AND PLUGS In Malawi the standard voltage is 230V and the frequency is 50Hz. You can use your electric appliances in Malawi, if the standard voltage in your country is in between 220-240 V (as is in the UK, Europe, Australia and most of Asia and Africa).Malawi the power sockets are of type G as in the picture below. 5
