Most of the following camps are open for any student in the school to sign up to (unless stated otherwise age requirements). Over the years the camps here at TC have become highly sort after experiences for students to get out into the Green Classroom and develop lifelong skills in amazing environments. From the ocean, to the mountains, to the sun to the snow there is a camp out there for everyone, so ensure that you find out what is on offer for 2019! What s on offer? The Application Process Expression of Interest close Friday 7 September 2018 @ 9.00am via online link - Expression of Interest Students will need to use their TC Login to complete this process. If you have questions regarding the experiences, we are available in the Resource Centre during the following times for questions; o Tuesday 28 August @ 3.45pm - 4.30pm o Wednesday 29 August @ 8.00am - 8.30am o Tuesday 4 September @ 5.00pm - 5.30pm Students will be notified on Tuesday 11 September 2018 if their selected trip is running 2019. Deposit for Experiences 21 September 2018 domestic trips only. Student/Parent meetings will be held early in Term 4 for the International Based Trip, New York Art Experience, and Japan Snow Trips. These dates and times will be confirmed on Tuesday 11 September. Please note that places will be made available to new members of our community joining in Term 4, and 2019. Great Barrier Reef Experience Where: Fitzroy Island, Cairns, QLD When: Term Three Week 1 or 2 15 July/22 July 2019 Cost: $1100 Approximately Minimum Numbers: 16 This week-long camp to Fitzroy Island will allow participants to investigate the ecology and issues affecting coral reef ecosystems. Students will also have the opportunity to work at the Turtle Rehabilitation Centre while tent-camping on the island. Fitzroy Island is an incredibly beautiful continental island, consisting of tropical rainforest and beaches, surrounded by a fringing coral reef. It is a short boat trip from Cairns and is the perfect place to experience and learn more about the Great Barrier Reef.

Surf Camp Where: Anglesea When: Term One Week 3 February 18 Cost: $550 Minimum numbers: 18 Prerequisites Swimming ability Based along the Surf Coast of Anglesea, this surf trip will allow you to build up your surfing skills like a true local! The week long program will teach you about water safety at the beach, personal development and ultimately get you standing up on a surfboard. The group will prepare all meals for the trip and even explore the local surrounding areas.

Sea Kayaking on the Whitsundays Where: Whitsunday s QLD When: Either June or September 2019 Cost $1100 Minimum numbers: 18 Prerequisites: - Strong swimming ability Depending on the availability of flights, this 5-7-day Journey to the Whitsundays is truly amazing. The trip will involve sea kayaking around the islands of the Whitsundays, nature walks, environmental investigation and snorkelling with some of Australia s enchanting sea life.

ENTRY Gone Bush Camp Where: Munjara Camp Glenmaggie When: Semester 2, 2019 TBC Cost: $300 approximately Minimum numbers: 20 The experience is designed for 2019 Entry Students Designed to be a taste into camping, bushwalking and outdoor experiences. Students will camp in tents/tarps for 2 nights and 2 nights in cabins, and help cook all meals for the camp. On this camp you will explore the surrounding areas, learn to build a raft (and race it against other groups), build a hut, bush cooking, team building initiative activities, low ropes and many other great activities.

Wilsons Promontory National Park Where: Wilsons Promontory National Park When: September 2019 Cost: $250 approximately Minimum numbers: 16 Designed to be a taste into camping and bushwalking. Students will camp for 2 nights and explore the surrounding areas around the spectacular Wilsons Promontory. Students will help plan out the menu for the hike and engage in route logistics. There is a possible sunrise walk is also on offer, marine investigation and beach activities, dependant on weather.

Mount Hotham/ Mt Buller Snow Camp Where: Mt Hotham - The Lodge Ski Club OR Mount Buller Icicles Lodge When: August 2019 Cost: $860 approximately By far, one of the most favourite trips here at TC. Departing from TC on Monday and returning on Friday, this week will allow students the chance to ski, eat, sleep and repeat! Students can either snowboard or downhill ski and will incorporate a 1.5 hour daily lesson that is suitable to your ability. Students will be staying in share rooms and be preparing a hearty hot breakfast and evening meals for the whole trip. Lunch will be provided on the mountain by the ski school at one of the cafes. No experience skiing or snowboarding? It's ok to be a beginner!

Japan Snow Trip Where: Japan Nozawa Onsen region and Tokyo. When: Feb/March 2019 Cost: $4500 Duration: 8-10 days approximately A very exciting new addition to TC s international camps. Return flights to Tokyo Japan, students will travel by coach to Aitoku Lodge in Nozawa Onsen region, where they will experience 6 nights at a traditional Japanese snow lodge. Students will get a 5 day lift pass at one of the best snow locations in the world. Including board/ski hire (including boots, helmet, wrist guards), 5 two hour lessons by experienced instructors and all food on the mountain included. Students will be also get a tour to the see the amazing snow monkeys on the final day in Nozawa. After snowboarding all week you will then get a transfer back to Tokyo and stay at the Hilton Hotel Tokyo Bay, where you will be taken by coach to the DisneySea theme park, and full English guided tour around Tokyo. Students will experience a wide range of educational advantages on this camp including: Teamwork Geographical and cultural differences/ exposure Lifelong recreational skills in skiing/snowboarding Personal growth and development Problem solving and overcoming challenges Pre and post research planning of the trip

Mt Arapiles Rock Climbing Where: Mt Arapiles When: Term Two Week 3 End of April 2019 Duration: 4 days Cost: $600 approximately Minimum numbers: 16 Mt Arapiles, near Horsham, is one of the world's best climbing locations! The natural site offers a huge number of climbs a short distance away from our camp location. Students will form small groups for tenting and cooking, along with climbing. The week away for TC students will included; introduction to the equipment, knots and harness types, modern principles of climbing and lots of climbing. If the weather is poor for climbing, we will explore local bushwalking tracks.

Central Australia Where: Central Australia When: June/July or September 2019 Cost: $900 - $1000 Approximately Minimum number: 35 students This 10 or 11 day trip Best of the Red Centre Journey will have students visit Cooper Pedy, Alice Springs Desert Park, MacDonald Ranges, Royal Flying Doctors, Kings Creek Station, Watarrka National Park, Uluru, and other sites along the way. Students will camp out under the stars when possible. Prerequisites: Ability to sit calmly on a bus to and from Central Australia Potential 10 Day Itinerary: Day 1: Depart school Day 2: Coober Pedy (camping under the stars) Day 3: Alice Springs (3 nights of camping, Aboriginal Dreamtime and Bushtucker tour) Day 4: Alice Springs (Alice Springs desert park, Western Macdonnell Ranges, Royal flying doctors and school of air Day 5: Watarrka (Camel rides, Mt Ebenezer, leisure activities, swimming) Day 6: Watarrka (Kings canyon, garden of Eden and Lost City, Cultural immersion tour, Journey to Uluru, Sunset dinner over the rock) Day 7: Kata Tjuta (Kata Tjuta National park, camp set up) Day 8: On the move today back south to Coober Pedy. (Overnight camping underground at the Umoona Opal Mine) Day 9: Travel day - One the move to Glendambo and Port Augusta Day 10: Welcome Home! Arriving back at school

International Based Trip Where: Sri Lanka, India or Borneo When: September 2019 3 weeks (School holidays and first week of term 4) Minimum numbers: 16 Cost: $6200 approximately Based upon the success of our 2016 trip to Mongolia and Beijing, this 3 week journey could take us to Sri Lanka, India, or Borneo Throughout this experience you will learn how to plan your trip from the itinerary, activities, budget, food, hygiene, accommodation, team building and most of all self-discovery! Throughout the 3 weeks you will participate in a hike, community engagement project and exploration of the country! To get you there, you can fundraise the money or work, but I can say that anything is possible with a little bit of hard work! Ultimately the journey will be up to you!

White Water Rafting Where: Mitta Mitta River When: Term 4 Duration: 5 days Cost: $800 Pre-requisites: Ability to swim An unforgettable adrenalin seeking experience with a great location! Experience the natural beauty of the Mitta Mitta River over 5 days of white water rafting. You will be guided down the raging rapids of the Mitta Mitta River and camp at a new spot every night where you will help prepare your meals and set up the camp site. Prepare yourself for a week of mind blowing fun!

Zoo Camp Where: Halls Gap Zoo When: Term Four Week 3 21 October Cost: $300 approximately Minimum numbers: 16 Prerequisites: Passion for animals and the environment 15 years or older This is a truly amazing week away! We have the opportunity to work in a Zoo at the Grampians. You will assist staff in all aspects of the Zoo's operation and gain a greater appreciation for the animal s onsite. Students will basecamp (not in the enclosures!) and prepare their own meals. In addition, we hope to get some time to explore the lovely walking tracks in the area!

Farm Camp Where: Steels Creek When: Term 3 2 September or 9 September Cost: $360 Minimum numbers: 16 The primary outcome of this camp is to partake in farm chores and major farm activities as part of the Animals program. In addition, the camp will focus on Science, using the location and the experience of our Science staff and the hosts.

Mona Art Camp Where: Hobart When: June Term Two Week 9 17 June 2019 Minimum numbers: 18 students Cost: $600 approximately The trip is designed for students with a passion in art. We will fly Hobart for two nights and be immersed in the creative arts! Students will undertake a number of workshops and explore Mona, and the surrounding area! New York Art Experience Where: New York When: 14 Days April or September 2019 Cost: $6900 Minimum numbers: 20 Prerequisites: Experience the thrill and excitement of New York on this performing arts trip to the Big Apple as students are given the incredible opportunity to undertake 5 Broadway workshops lead by the best in the business! Explore the city as you visit Radio City Music Hall, the Lincoln Centre and other iconic New York landmarks.
