ROLE MODEL IN TRAINING PROGRAM The Community YMCA Camp Zehnder is proud to offer the Role Model In Training Program for campers who are interested in becoming a summer camp counselor. The RMIT program has been developed for 15 year old campers who have previously demonstrated strong leadership abilities, and have a desire to work with children. This program assists teens in learning and developing the necessary skills to work with children as a camp counselor, or as we call them, camp Role Models. Camp Zehnder is looking for flexible, talented, energetic candidates who wish to make a difference in the lives of the campers. During a four week session, RMITs will earn their certification in First Aid and CPR, develop team building skills, learn and practice group management techniques, facilitation skills, and program/activity development. RMITs will be paired with camp Role Models, Specialists, and Directors in order to gain experience working with campers in different settings. This is a volunteer program and successful completion of the Role Model In Training Program will allow candidates to apply as a camp Role Model when they are 16 years old. To apply for the Role Model In Training Program, please complete the attached application packet and return it to Camp Zehnder by May 15, 2017. If you have any questions regarding the application, please contact our Director of Camps, Tricia Kline at 732.836.9177, ext. 11. Please make sure you return the following: 1.
