This two-night, threeday outdoor extravaganza is a fun-filled weekend packed with outdoor adventure. Grab your troop, or your family and friends to celebrate the Year of the Outdoor Girl at two of Missouri s premier State Parks Echo Bluff and Current River! step 1 step 2 step 3 Register for the Camporee! You will receive your discount code in your emailed receipt once you ve registered for the Camporee. More information on Page 3. Attend the Girl Scout Camporee and have the time of your life! More information on Pages 4-5. april 12-14, 2019 Troops can spend the night on Friday and Saturday or just come for the day on Saturday. Who can participate? The Girl Scout Camporee is open to Girl Scout of all grade levels. You can come as a troop or you can come as a family. This amazing outdoor experience only happens every three years so we don t want anyone to miss out on the fun. What is the role of troop leaders or parents? Troop leaders or parents are responsible for supervision of their girls at all times. You are required to meet Girl Scout girl/adult safety ratios. Please refer to page 4 for details. When girls are participating in a facilitated activity or workshop, troop leaders and parents are welcomed to join in the fun but are also expected to assist their girls. 2 Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland Where? The Girl Scout Camporee will take place at Echo Bluff State Park and Current River State Park. The two parks are located within minutes of each other in Shannon County. Troops or families will be assigned to spend the morning at one park and then the afternoon at the other park. Troops and families will be responsible for transporting girls in between parks. What do we do? Saturday will be filled with a variety of activities including: kayaking, fishing, archery, Dutch oven cooking, geocaching, stream ecology, slingshots, trail signs, healthy snacks, outdoor badge sessions, the traveling council store and more! If you camp there will be additional evening activities as well as troop time.

Camping and Lodging Stay for the weekend in the way the suits you best: tent camping, RV ing, glamping, or just join in the fun and activities on Saturday. You ll start off the fun exploring the night sky on Friday. Saturday will be jammed-packed with adventure: archery, fishing, kayaking, dutch-oven cooking, stream ecology, sling shots, geocaching, trail signs, and so much more! There will be time to explore the beauty of Echo Bluff (maybe you ll catch a glimpse of the wild horses that live nearby!) and Current River. Local vendors and outdoor enthusiasts will be on hand to help you discover all the ways you can create your own memory-making outdoor adventures! And, of course, we ll have a full range of Girl Scout Camporee memorabilia and Girl Scout swag! You have multiple options for Outdoor camping: Premium (Water/Electric): $25 per night Basic Walk-In: $15 per night Primitive Group Camping: $2 per person/per night RVs -Full Hook Up (Sewer/Water/Electric): $35 per night All camping reservations must be made directly through Missouri State Parks, not GSMH. All reservations must be made by March 15, 2019. You can make your reservations by contacting 573-751-6414. You must provide the discount code you ll receive in your email receipt for the Camporee found in the highlighted section at the bottom. Prefer to camp inside? Echo Bluff has a lodge with hotel style rooms or cabins. Lodge King: $93 per night Lodge Suite: $139 per night 2 Bedroom Cabin: $139 per night Bunk Cabin: $149 per night Loft Cabin: $169 per night All camping, lodge, or cabin reservations must be made directly through Echo Lodge and not GSMH. All reservations must be made by January 31, 2019. You can make your reservations by contacting 844-322-3246. safety information First aid First Aid Stations will be available at both parks during the day on Saturday. If you are staying the night, you will be notified the location of the First Aid Station nearest you, and you will be responsible for bringing your own first aid kit. If you have members of your troop who require medication during the event, troop leaders or parents need to keep the medication and are responsible for making sure the child takes it. Outdoor Trainings We highly recommend all troops camping take the Outdoor Level 1 Home study prior to the Camporee. GSMH staff will be on hand at the Camporee to assist any troops as needed. GSMH also provides additional training to help you feel more confident taking your girls camping. You can find the information about outdoor trainings in the Volunteer 411 or on the council website. Indoor Overnights & Day Trips - Home Course Study Outdoor Level 1 -Home Course Study Outdoor Level 2 Girl to Adult Ratio For safety you must maintain the required girl to adult safety ratio. Events, Travel, & Camping Two unrelated adults (at least one of whom is female) for this number of girls: Plus one additional adult for each additional number of this many girls: Daisies 6 4 Brownies 12 6 Juniors 16 8 Cadettes 20 10 Seniors 24 12 Ambassadors 24 12 Physical Requirements The event requires that participants are able to walk on uneven terrain and for long distances. Some activities may have additional physical requirements. To participate in any program, girls and adults must be able to listen to and follow directions, wear required safety equipment and perform the physical requirements of the activity. Insects With girls spending a majority of their time outside while at the Camporee, girls are subject to the potential exposure of diseases associated with insect bites Girls can take precautions against insect bites by wearing long sleeves, long pants, and mosquito repellant containing DEET especially in the early morning and evening hours when insect activity is higher. Accommodating Special Needs If any participant has special needs (dietary, physical, medical, or emotional) please contact the outdoor program specialist at 877-312-4764 or info@girlscoutsmoheartland.org with specific considerations in advance so we can best meet those needs. 4 Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland

Additional information Camporee Expectations All attendees are expected to follow the Girl Scout Promise and Law. Participants are asked to listen and follow directions of the Camporee and the State Parks. No drugs, alcohol, weapons or pets are permitted. Smoking is permitted by adults at designated locations as long as it is not in front of the girls. The Event Co-Chairs reserve the right to send home anyone who is not following the rules or not acting in accordance to the values of the Girl Scout Law. No refunds will be given if someone is sent home for misconduct. Health History Forms Every person participating in the Girl Scout Camporee needs to bring a completed Health History form with them to camp. These forms will be included in your confirmation packet and you can find them on our website. At check in we will ask you to fold your Health History Form and put it with your name tag on a lanyard. SWAPS Go ahead and get started on making these Special Whatchamacallits Affectionately Pinned Somewhere tokens of friendship to exchange at the Girl Scout Camporee. SWAPS aren t required, but sure are fun! What should we bring? Once you are registered for the event you will receive a confirmation that will include a packing list. Be prepared to camp!! You ll need to bring everything your troop needs to camp comfortably including tents, sleeping bags, food, snacks, hand washing items, table, chairs, stove if needed, troop activities, swaps, jackets and go-getter attitudes! Traveling Shop Stop by the lodge to visit the GSMH traveling shop! We will have lots of new clothing items, special outdoor camping items, and of course Girl Scout merchandise for any age! All participants who register by January 31 will receive this free Girl Scout Camporee charm that won t be available anywhere else! This charm, along with others you ll collect throughout the year, is a celebration of GSMH s Year of the Outdoor Girl! registration Registration Opens August 15, 2018 Deadline to reserve cabins or rooms at the lodge with Echo Bluff January 31, 2019 Deadline to register for the girl scout Camporee March 15 All troops who register by January 31 will receive a free Camporee charm that won t be available for purchase. Deadline to reserve camping space at Echo Bluff March 15 How do I register for Camporee? Camporee registration will be accepted starting August 15, 2018. You can register for this event by visiting www.girlscoutsmoheartland.org, and clicking on Activities > Girl Scout Camporee. How much does Camporee cost? The price to attend the full day of activities on Saturday is only $15 per person! That includes a variety of activities, lunch, and dinner. The cost of lodging will be determined by the option you choose. There will be a complimentary night sky program Friday evening and a closing ceremony on Sunday morning. Girls can use their Cookie Credit or Fall Funds to pay for their $15 registration fee. Financial assistance is also available. Troops can use their Troop Bucks or Early Bird Bills to pay the $15 fee as well. Refunds If a cancellation is made due to illness or family emergency, a refund will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Refund amounts will be determined within 14 days after the event. Refunds will be given if the event is cancelled by the council. Meal Options Lunch and dinner on Saturday are included in the registration fee. All other meals will be on your own. You can cook at your camp site or eat at Echo Bluff lodge s restaurant. Menu for Lunch: Box Lunch with Sandwich, Chips, Fruit, Cookie, and Drink Menu for Dinner: Hamburger or Hot dog, Chips, Dessert and Drink If you have special dietary needs, let us know and we can accommodate those needs during lunch and dinner. Check In & Out Check in for campers begins at 5:00 pm on Friday and Check out is 10:00 a.m. on Sunday.
