Residential - Pre-Expedition Information Pack & Kit List Location & time: The Lake, H5 Adventure Ltd, South Farm, Thornhill, Royal Wootton Bassett, SN4 7RX. ALL SAT NAVs do not take you to the venue. PLEASE read directions below. South Farm is 10 minutes South West of Royal Wootton Bassett Please arrive outside the main entrance to Chippenham Train Station for 11am OR at The Lake for 11:30am At the end of the Expedition, the participants will be dropped at Chippenham Train Station for 3pm at the latest, we recommend you booking an OPEN train ticket Directions from Royal Wootton Bassett: 1. Driving down Royal Wootton Bassett High Street, turn left opposite the 16 th Century Black & White Old Town Hall and follow until you reach a mini roundabout, turn right 2. Follow for approximately ½ Kilometre, straight over another roundabout and start leaving Royal Wootton Bassett. Turn right off this road following signs for Hilmartin, Clyffe Pypard & Bushton. 3. After 2 Kilometres, ignore first white sign to Thornhill. Pass 2 large new build houses on your right and turn left, signposted in a small white sign Thornhill 4. Follow road, large farm on your right, sharp bend to left, then sharp bend to your right and South Farm is on your left after ½ Kilometre from the main road. The Entrance is on your left, drive through two large grey gates, SPEED LIMIT 5mph please, drive straight through farm yard, large barn on your left, and continue straight, along a further 600 meters down a single lane gravel track Any issues on the day, please call our office on 01793 731 068 The Lake: Is a Private 33 acre site, set around beautifully landscaped lake with stunning views across open countryside. There is running water, compost toilets and you will have portable bags for showers, which you will be taught how to heat the water up and erect in the tree s. There are separate areas for female and males, but we also ask you to bring and wear swimsuits during showering.
Program: Day 1: After introductions, you will have from icebreaker games to get to know the other participants. Then eat your packed lunch, brought from home. As an entire team, you will plan a menu for your team for the next 48 hours. While some of you pop off to the shops to purchase the food, others will erect your tents. Unpack and settle, before an outdoor activity, Canoeing, archery, bush craft, pending weather You will cook dinner & breakfasts on a large gas stove, while others arrange a cooking/cleaning rota for your team. A peaceful evening looking over The lake to finish Day 2, 3 & 4 will involve you setting out after breakfast and preparing lunch to either a local woodland which requires clearing and maintenance for The Wiltshire Wildlife Trust, who have a number of opportunities for you to work in them. It depends on weather and time of year with regards to the work required. Or, you could be trekking for an hour to the local Broad Town White Horse Figure which requires constant maintenance Each night you will return to cook an evening meal and clean up. On the 4rd night, you will complete another menu and shop for the remaining 48 hours On the 2 nd evening, you have an option of doing an outdoor activity; canoeing; archery; bush craft or just relax On the 4 th night, you will have the opportunity to socialise amongst yourselves Day 5: You will spend the morning enjoying an outdoor activity of your choice, Canoeing, Archery or Bush craft around The Lake, after lunch, you will pack up, go through a debrief and depart for 3:00pm Food: Please bring a packed lunch for the first day and any snacks for the entire course Please let us know of any major dietary requirements a week before your residential, i.e. Gluten, Dairy Free
