It is a country full of surprises, folklore and exciting places that leave enduring impressions. It is Europe s richest country in gold resources and has the largest population of brown bears in Europe. Romania is a country where apitherapy is widely and openly practiced; it is an old tradition with many benefits for our health, often with minimal or no side effects. Considered to have the richest range of bee products and pristine flora, Romanian honeybee products are highly prized for their apitherapeutic use due to their purity and quality. This will be an amazing journey; accommodations will be 3-5 * hotels and include breakfast and dinner. On this tour, we will visit with two of Romania s top apitherapists Alina Varadi, consultant on Api-Nutrition & Dr. Stefan Stângaciu, world-recognized expert on Apitherapy and Apipuncture! ITINERARY Day 00, Sept 5 DEPART FOR ROMANIA, arrive at Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport (Departure will be from the Cluj via Bucharest Airport on 14 Sept.) *** ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE AIRPORTS ARE DIFFERENT *** Day 01, Sept 6 ARRIVAL IN BUCHAREST Arrival in BUCHAREST. Dinner and overnight at nearby hotel since people are arriving at different times, this will be the most convenient. Best Western Briston Hotel. Hotel offers free shuttle from the airport. Day 02, Sept 7 BUCHAREST APITHERAPY WITH DR. STANGACIU BUCHAREST Meeting with Dr. Stefan Stangaciu, an expert in Apitherapy. Lecture on apitherapy (possible: demonstration on emerging kit for bee stings, micro bee sting, honey massage, honey in eyes...). Afternoon Bucharest tour. Dinner and overnight in Best Western Hotel. Day 03, Sept 8 BUCHAREST SINAIA PELES CASTLE BRASOV Drive to the town of SINAIA, where we first visit the monastery, founded by Mihail Cantacuc in 1695 and built in the "Brâncovenesc" style with two churches. In the city stands the splendid royal Peles Palace, the summer residence of King Charles I, built in Renaissance style. Continuing to the town of Brașov, which dates back to the 13th century, with its fortress Kronstadt, which in the middle Ages was considered one of the most important defensive castles. Then we visit the "black church" from the 14th century, one of the most distinguished Gothic churches in Europe. Dinner and overnight at the marvelous Ambient Mansion. Day 04, Sept 9 BRASOV AZUGA (winery/tasting) BRAN CASTLE SIBIU In the heart of Transylvania, the largest Romanian province, famous for its many medieval castles and towns, picturesque villages and the magnificent landscape we visit the BRAN CASTLE. Count Dracula is thought to have lived here, so the castle
keeps the imagination of all visitors of the "Dracula Castle" image. Bran is a national monument and landmark in Romania. Our next stop is in AZUGA, small resort town nestled in the mountains. We ll do wine tasting and lunch. Sparkling wines and champagne type wines, produced after the traditional "champenoise" method. The wine cellars from Azuga were built in 1892, by the Rhein family, official supplier for the royal court. We head towards Transylvanian city of SIBIU. Dinner and overnight at the beautiful Conacul Maria Theresa. Day 05, Sept 10 SIBIU SIGHISOARA SAUSA (beekeeping visit) CLUJ NAPOCA After breakfast visit to a beautiful medieval city, which years ago carried the title of the European Capital of Culture. A walk through the "royal city" along the paved streets and picturesque markets. We continue our journey to SIGHISOARA, the birthplace of the most famous inhabitant of the Transylvania Vlad Tepes, the legendary Count Dracula and one of the most romantic medieval towns in Romania. Among other things, it is adorned by the well- preserved medieval citadel (UNESCO site). Next is a visit to a beekeeper. Continuing drive to Cluj Napoca. Dinner and overnight at Stil Hotel.
Day 06, Sept 11 CLUJ NAPOCA SIGHTSEEING CASA BIO & APILAB API NUTRITION conference CLUJ NAPOCA Sightseeing of CLUJ NAPOCA the second most populous city in Romania after the national capital Bucharest. The city is considered the unofficial capital to the historical province of Transylvania. A city has a vibrant arts scene that embraces both the traditional and the progressive. After visit to Apilab - USAMV in Cluj- Napoca and CASA BIO. Lecture on Api Nutrition. Dinner and overnight at the Stil Hotel. Day 07, Sept 12 CLUJ NAPOCA APITHERAPY TURDA SALT MINE BOTANIC GARDEN CLUJ NAPOCA Visit to an apiary where they do experimental treatments for bees with essential oils. Afternoon visit to the Turda salt mine, a veritable historical museum of salt mining. Salina Turda is ranked 22 among the most spectacular tourist destinations in the world. Since 1992, Salina Turda has been a halotherapy center and a popular tourist attraction. Afterword we drive back to Cluj Napoca and visit a Botanical garden. Dinner and overnight at Stil Hotel. Day 08, Sept 13 A VISIT TO A BEEKEEPER in CAPUSUL MARE (OU CAPUSUL MIC) A VISIT TO A BEEKEEPER (pollen, apilarnil) CLUJ NAPOCA (traditional evening) Breakfast, drive to CAPUSUL MARE. Meeting with biodynamic beekeeping. Next meeting with beekeeper and introduction to benefits of apilarnil & how apilarnil is being harvesting and use of pollen. Tasting. Drive back to Cluj. Dinner with folklore program in traditional restaurant. Overnight at Stil Hotel. Day 09, Sept 14 DEPARTURE After breakfast, drive to Cluj via Bucharest Airport for flight back home.
