The 4 th Public and Private Joint Forum in Asian region - The 18 th JASIC ASIA GOVERNMENT/INDUSTRY MEETING - Pattaya, Thailand March 26-28, 2014 Dear Sirs or Madams Feb 24, 2014 Japan Automobile Standards Internationalization Center (JASIC) is pleased to send you the official invitation for the 4 th Public and Private Joint Forum in Asian region (the 18 th JASIC Asia Government and Industry Meeting), which will be held in Pattaya, Thailand from March 26th to 28th, 2014, co-organized by Department of Land Transport (DLT), Thailand and Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), Japan and operated by JASIC. This meeting is held as a part of the programs under the ASEAN-Japan Cooperative Program on Development of Technical Regulations and Establishment of a Type Approval System for Vehicles (the Cooperative Program) endorsed by the Ministers at ASEAN-Japan Transport Ministers Meeting. Since October 1998, we have held total of seventeen JASIC Asia Government and Industry Meetings in view of realizing international harmonization of vehicle regulations and mutual recognition of approvals. Through these activities, it has been our great pleasure that we have developed recognition by the meeting participants of various government authorities including transport, environment and industry, and associations of automotive and automotive parts industries in Asian economies. The 4 th Public and Private Joint Forum in Asian region will be held as the 3 rd meeting of the 6 th series with the theme; Promoting the International Whole Vehicle Type Approval (IWVTA) concept under the UN Regulation framework for realizing harmonization of regulations and establishing Mutual Recognition of Approvals (MRA) in the Asian region. This time, we would like to exchange Asian economy s views regarding the development of the Asian position for the further international harmonization of regulation under the framework of WP.29. Thailand s VISA Information According to the Department of Foreign Affairs, Kingdom of Thailand, participants holding national passports from P.R. China, India, and Chinese Taipei are required an entry visa to the Kingdom of Thailand prior to entering into the Kingdom. The delegates from said countries must apply for the necessary visa at the Royal Thai Embassies or Consulates in their country before proceeding to Thailand or they may apply for visas on arrival at the immigration checkpoints for the purpose of tourism for the period of not exceeding 15 days.
