SAR was stood down after search resulted in nothing found. CTL AIR 23 23 PEP Air responded to an overdue aircraft from the Blue River area. PEP Air was stood down after search resulted in nothing being located. SWE LAND 1 11 1 11 Squamish SAR members responded to BCAS request for assistance with an injured hiker on the Elfin Lake Trail. The team located and transferred patient over to BCAS. SEA LAND 1 4 1 4 Golden SAR members responded to BCAS request to bring an injured quad rider up a 20 ft embankment to the waiting ambulance. The patient was transferred to BCAS with the assistance of a bystander quad rider. VIR LAND 1 3 1 3 Campbell River SAR members responded to retrieve a hiker who suffered a broken leg along the West Coast Trail. SAR was stood down after Parks Canada opted to retrieve the subject themselves. SWE LAND 1 17 1 17 Central Fraser Valley SAR members responded to an RCMP request to assist with locating a despondent person. The subject was successfully located and handed off to BCAS. SWE LAND 1 19 1 19 North Shore Rescue members responded to an injured hiker in the Hanes Valley. The subject was extracted by helicopter and transferred to BCAS. VIR LAND 1 4 1 4 North Shore Rescue members responded to Parks Canada request for assistance with an injured female who sustained a fractured ankle while hiking the West Coast Trail. The subject and her party were flown out, and patient was handed over to BCAS for assessment and treatment SWE LAND 1 6 1 6 Squamish SAR members responded for an injured hiker at the Ranger station on Garbaldi Lake. The subject was located, air lifted out and handed off to BCAS. VIR LAND 1 11 1 11 Campbell River SAR members responded for an injured subject at Cream Lake near Campbell River. The patient was air lifted out and handed off to BCAS. CTL INLAND WATER 1 1 1 1 Shuswap Marine Rescue member (Lifeboat 1) responded for an injured subject from the Totem Resort on Shuswap Lake in Tappen. The patient was rescued and transferred to BCAS. CTL LAND 1 5 1 5 Vernon SAR members responded to search for a missing child last seen on Grandview Flats Road in Spallumcheen. SAR was stood down when the subject was located by the RCMP. SWE LAND 1 1 1 1 Coquitlam SAR member responded for an unconscious subject that was pulled out of the water in Johnson Bay, near Belcarra. SAR did not respond as they were not needed.

The subject was air lifted out and refused BCAS assistance due to lack of need. VIR LAND 1 22 1 22 Comox Valley SAR members responded to a BCAS request for a female who was injured in a mountain bike accident in the Cumberland area. Patient was found and turned over to BCAS. SEA LAND 1 10 1 10 Fernie SAR members responded to a male who suffered a mountain bike accident in the River Road area. The subject was recovered and transferred to BCAS and taken to hospital. SWE LAND 1 1 1 CFV SAR was contacted by Langley Police to search for an elderly female suffering dementia, who went missing in the area of 205 Street and 68th Ave, Langley. SAR was stood down while mustering as the police located the subject alive and well. SEA LAND 1 5 1 5 Golden SAR members responded to assist an injured runner in the Golden Ultra race. The patient was recovered and transferred to BCAS CTL LAND 1 8 1 8 Pemberton SAR members responded to a BCAS request for a male motorcyclist with a leg injury near Tyax Lodge. SAR flew in, picked up the patient and handed him over to BCAS for transport to the clinic. SWE LAND 1 12 12 North Shore Rescue responded to BCAS request for reports of a possible injured boater near Mud Lake on Bowen Island. After consulting with RCMP, North Shore Rescue was stood down as it was determined that this incident was in fact the same incident as SAR 180973. VIR LAND 1 10 1 10 Campbell River SAR members responded to a missing 91 y/o mushroom picker near Elk Falls Prov Park. SAR was stood down after RCMP located the subject alive and well. NWE LAND 1 11 1 11 Bulkley Valley SAR members responded to BCAS request to assist a male that was attacked by a bear in the Smithers area. Patient retrieved by SAR with bite marks and an injured arm. CTL LAND 1 13 1 5 Penticton SAR 8 Penticton FD members responded to BCAS request for assistance with an injured female with a fractured leg in Naramata. Patient was picked up and transferred to BCAS. VIR LAND 2 15 2 15 Comox Valley SAR members responded to RCMP request for 2 overdue hikers on Mount Albert Edward near Mount Washington. Subject recovered by brought out by RCMP. SWE LAND 1 20 1 13 Sunshine Coast SAR members and 7 Roberts Creek Fire responded to a BCAS request for an injured hiker near Roberts Creek Falls. Patient was retrieved using rope rescue and was then transported to hospital. SEA LAND 2 10 2 10 Kaslo SAR members responded to 2 overdue hikers from the McBeth Icefield area. SAR was stood down en route as RCMP located the subjects. NEA INLAND WATER 5 10 5 10 North Peace SAR members responded to RCMP request for 5 overturned boaters near

WEEKLY INCIDENT REPORT Sept 17 23, 2018 DANGEROUS GOODS: On 18 Sept, a sinking tugboat in Kootenay Lake near Balfour was reported to Ministry of Environment. The incident was raised to a Code 2 (urgent status) by the Ministry of Environment Response Officer (MOE EERO) for notification purposes and potential for environmental impacts.
