CONVENTION REGISTRATION Attendees can pick-up convention materials in the Grand and South Hall Lobbies. If you pre-registered by March 30, 2012 your badge will be mailed to you directly. This offers the convenience of a lower RECon registration rate and the ease of not having to wait on long lines. If you receive your badge in the mail you do not need to go to the registration area. You can go directly to the entrance of the Grand Lobby or South Hall Lobby of the LVCC to pick up a clip/lanyard, program, and maps. You only need to go to registration if you have changes that need to be made on your badge or if you have not registered. The registration area is located in N1, the North Hall. It is very important to pre-register to avoid waiting on long lines. Badges provide attendees access to all functions available at RECon. You will NOT be allowed into the Leasing Mall, Meeting Rooms, Meal Functions and Marketplace Mall without a badge. Exhibitor staff badges provide access to the show floor only; but not to sessions or meal functions. 4

LEASING MALL/MARKETpLACE MALL DETAILS Veteran s Tips Registration and pre-plans DON T wait until 7:45 am on Monday. If you do, you might have to wait in line and miss your appointment. DO go through your registration materials and your convention kit. Pull out the Leasing Mall and Marketplace Mall Reference Guides and put them in a safe place. They are your guides to the floor plan and replacements are often not available once the convention opens. DO look through your Program Directory to determine what educational sessions you may want to attend and for the room location. Also, there may be some changes to the convention program since the marketing brochure, so take a moment to look through the program. DO bring your badge with you at all times. If you don t, you will not be able to access any of the convention functions. DON T lose your badge. If you do, you will have to pay a replacement fee of $100. DON T forget to get a receipt if you need one for accounting purposes. Though Las Vegas cab drivers do not like to make change, they are very generous with giving receipts. EXHIBIT STRUCTURES The Leasing Mall/ Marketplace Mall contain custom designed displays that act as office space for the exhibiting companies. Structures in the exhibiting halls can be as small as 10 feet by 10 feet to as large as 17,000 square feet! RECON IS AN APPOINTMENT DRIVEN CONVENTION! If you need to meet with one of the exhibitors, please contact the company for an appointment. ICSC provides an interactive listing of exhibitors and their locations online. Be aware that Monday and Tuesday are the BUSIEST days at the Exposition. Companies may not be able to fit you in on those days, but try on Wednesday, when the Leasing Mall is open until 2 pm So if at first you don t succeed, keep trying because you never know! Even if you cannot speak with an exhibitor, try to locate their booth and take their promotional material since it contains contact information that you can refer back to once you return from the convention. Also, consider visiting the press room to pick up company press kits. When scheduling appointments, try to make them in the same hall on the same day. This will limit the amount of time you have to walk between the two halls. Remember, the walk can be as long as three-quarters of a mile one way! Know the hours of the Leasing Mall/ Marketplace Mall when making your appointments. Though a 7:30 am appointment may sound great for Monday, the Leasing Mall s official start is 9:00 am and security will not grant you access. Marketplace Mall: Leasing Mall: Sunday: 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm Monday: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Tuesday: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Tuesday: 9:00 am - 5:00 p.m Wednesday: 9:00 am - 2:00 p.m 8 DON T FORGET YOUR BADGE AT ANY TIME. If you do not have it, you will not be able to access any of the convention functions. If you lose it, it will cost you $100 for a replacement.

LEASING MALL/MARKETpLACE MALL DETAILS Veteran s Tips Planning on dining out while in Las Vegas? Make your reservations before you go. For dining options, visit the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Bureau s dining link at www.lvcva.com/finder/dining. ICSC shuttle buses are convenient, frequent, free, and drop you right in front of the convention doors. A complete bus schedule is included in the convention materials you receive onsite. A listing of official hotels can be found in the RECon Final Program or on ICSC s website. The buses run along the Las Vegas Strip and run throughout the duration of the convention. The monorail is also an option. Though a single ride can be purchased for $5.00, unlimited oneday and three-day passes are also available. For more information, visit www.lvmonorail.com CITIES OF THE WORLD EXHIBITORS Public sector members are part of the Leasing Mall and represent local and state government departments/agencies, economic development corporations, non-profit community groups, downtown and business improvement districts and chambers of commerce that are promoting retail real estate development opportunities. Public Sector exhibitors are located in Central Hall Cities of the World Pavilion. Before you go, visit www.icsc.org/2012recon for information and exhibitor s locations. Public sector members have been exhibiting in the Leasing Mall since 1982. The first city was Rancho Cucamonga, California. WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES Wear comfortable shoes since you will be walking a tremendous amount. For your reference, if you walk from the northern most point in the North Hall to the southern most point in the South Hall you will have walked three quarters of a mile. Multiply that by three and a half days, eight hours a day, a number of trips back and forth and that equals sore feet!! 9 Visit ICSC s RECon website for updates at www.icsc.org/2012recon

THE CONVENTION FOOD & BEVERAGE OPTIONS AT THE CONVENTION ICSC provides meals for Full Paid RECon attendees including luncheons (with guest speakers) on Monday and Tuesday. ICSC also sponsors an Opening Reception on Sunday; as well as various other receptions. You ll only go hungry or thirsty if you don t plan or make the time to refuel. Don t forget to drink PLENTY of water you are in the desert! The Marketplace Mall Café located in the Marketplace Mall features various cash and carry food vendors.this is also the only area with free Wi-Fi at RECon. Many of the exhibitors provide a various array of snacks, food and beverages for their appointment guests. The LVCC has a cafeteria and Starbucks located just off the Grand lobby which is open daily for breakfast and lunch. There is also a food court off the South Hall Lobby. RESTAURANTS and ENTERTAINMENT There is a wide variety of dining options in Las Vegas, from fast food, to discount buffets to 5-star restaurants. There is something for every budget. The town gets very busy during RECon. ICSC SHUTTLE BUSES ICSC provides complimentary shuttle buses between all Official Convention Hotels and the LVCC. WHAT TO PACk Business or business casual attire is recommended for RECon. The average temperature in Las Vegas in May is 86 degrees but it can reach over 100 degrees. The LVCC tends to be kept cold so you may want to bring a jacket or sweater with you, just in case. Bring plenty of business cards to distribute to fellow attendees as they are your calling-card for the convention.

THE CONVENTION Average Temperatures in May in Las Vegas Average High Temperature in May in Las Vegas: 88 F (31.1 C) Average Low Temperature in May in Las Vegas: 60 F (15.5 C) Average Rainfall in May in Las Vegas:.28 Average Humidity in May in Las Vegas: 18% CELL PHONES Your cell phone will work inside the LVCC but it is still a good idea to have all contact information for your appointments written down in a safe place just incase you have phone trouble. Plan ahead to avoid any unexpected problems. WHEN TO ARRIVE AND DEPART While attendees take advantage of the full convention program, the vast majority are there for the Leasing Mall. Given this, the two heaviest travel days for ICSC convention goers are Sunday for arrivals and Wednesday for departures. If you can arrive early, do so. This will allow you to get acclimated with the layout of the convention, adjust to the time change and get settled in before you have to hit the ground running on Sunday or Monday. It is recommended to depart Wednesday, May 23rd since the Leasing Mall will be open from 9:00 am-2:00 pm Use this time to create those last minute deals! 11 TRANSPORTATION: CABS, MONORAIL AND SHUTTLE BUSES After you get your luggage and head to your hotel, you might have to wait on a cab line at the airport. Though it does move fast, it can be quite long, depending on the time you arrive. Cab lines will be everywhere. From hotels to the LVCC. Just like anywhere in the U.S. traffic builds as the day progresses, so leave your hotel early.

LAS VEGAS MONORAIL Las Vegas Monorail (MGM Grand to Sahara) The Las Vegas Monorail runs from the MGM Grand to the Sahara hotel. The route has seven stations: MGM Grand, Bally s / Paris, Flamingo, Harrah s / Imperial Palace, Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas Hilton and the Sahara. The monorail is open Monday - Thursday, 7:00 am to 2:00 am and Friday - Sunday, 7 am - 3 am Rates for the monorail are $5 for one ride, $14 for an unlimited one-day pass for one person and $30 for an unlimited three-day pass for one person. 16

LAS VEGAS HOTELS Mirage-Treasure Island Tram The Mirage-Treasure Island tram runs between 7 am - 2 am, daily. The tram arrives just about every 15 minutes and the ride lasts about two to four minutes. The Mirage stop of this monorail is outside but well shaded with a misting system, and located just to the left of the hotel s front entrance. At Treasure Island, passengers wait indoors in a corridor located near the entrance to the parking garage. Those waiting for the tram stand behind automatic gates. Because the automatic gates tend to open almost as soon as the tram arrives, it is best to allow everyone on the tram a chance to disembark first before getting on. The waiting areas, as well as the tram itself, have televisions playing ads that feature TI and Mirage shows and attractions. The track is set back from the Strip and the ride is smooth, passing palm trees and vegetation. It also offers a nice aerial view of the TI pool on the west side. Seating is bus-style, with long benches and some standing room. Bellagio - CityCenter - Monte Carlo Tram The Bellagio - CityCenter - Monte Carlo tram runs daily from 8 am - 4 am, every seven minutes. The tram arrives just about every 15 minutes and the ride lasts about two to six minutes. 17 The Bellagio stop of this monorail is accessible from a hallway in the Bellagio Spa Tower just past Sensi restaurant and near the walkway to Vdara. There are stairs and an elevator that go up to the station. The station itself is located outside but it does have a roof to protect you from the weather. Guests at Vdara would access the tram by taking a short walk along a walkway to the Bellagio Spa Tower entrance. Once there, follow the signage. The tram stops at Crystals and again you ll be outside but within a shelter. From this stop riders can go downstairs into the mall. The tram station exit will put you near Beso restaurant and the entrance to Aria Resort is accessible through an outdoor area just past Beso. The tram s final stop is the Monte Carlo. The tram s exit is at the Monte Carlo s Street of Dreams shopping center. There is also an entrance to Aria accessible from this stop. It will lead you to the front portion of Aria s casino.

LAS VEGAS HOTELS Mandalay Bay-Excalibur Tram This monorail s route varies based on what hotel you start at. If you start at the Excalibur main station, the monorail will take you directly to Mandalay Bay about a 3-minutes trip. If you start from Mandalay Bay, you will stop at the Luxor and then the Excalibur about a 7-minutes trip. It is in operation daily from 7 am to 10:30 pm, and trains leave every 3-7 minutes. All waiting areas are indoors or covered except the Luxor s, but some walking is required to make the loop (there are stairs as well as an elevator to access the tram stop). Fortunately, everything is well air-conditioned. Small platforms and a lack of any attendants at the Mandalay Bay end mean you may have to scramble to a car when traffic is heavy, but even a holiday weekend crowd can be accommodated once the initial rush for a seat dies down. Although it s a little more complicated to make this loop, the profusion of stations has some advantages: The Main Station is convenient to a free pull on a slot machine with a $5,000 payoff (though it gives out many more free show tickets), and the Luxor s is the only monorail stop with music for waiting passengers. 18
