Vehicle / participant numbers: Maximum: 10 Minimum: 2 Activity description: Travel to Ceduna in South Australia then head north on Goog s track to the Transcontinental Railway and head east to Glendambo. From here there are many ways to return to Wagga which will be open to negotiation and participants interests. Level of difficulty of activity: Easy? Moderate? Hard? Very hard? Easy to Moderate Trip Grading: If wet: 3 If dry: 4 Suited to camper trailer? No Number of nights camping? Full time driving? Personal gear required: Club gear required: Other comments or safety issues: 14 Location: No Fuel required: Full Tank. You will need to cover 550km of travel through sand dune country. Camping Gear. First Aid Goog s track is relatively short, however there are many things to see and I intend to take our time travelling through the country. NOTES for all trips: 1. Intending participants must inform the activity leader by the Wednesday before departure. 2. For trips, all vehicles to carry basic recovery equipment and have recovery points front and rear. 3. Trip / Club rules are to be followed. 4. Because of the nature of activities undertaken, there is always the possibility of personal injury or vehicle damage. All participants have a responsibility to maintain safety at all times. 5. Responsibility of a vehicle driver: It shall be the sole responsibility of each vehicle driver to decide whether or not to start or continue to participate in a trip. It is recommended that advice is sought from the trip leader. TRIP GRADING/ DIFFICULTY: (Conditions may change during the trip) 1. Very easy with little if any 4WDriving. Usually a scenic tour. 2. Easy 4WD trip. Winching and/or towing unlikely. 3. Medium 4WD trip. Requires a capable vehicle, cautious driving and basic 4WDriving skills. Winching should not be required. 4. Moderately difficult with some winching and/or towing a possibility. Good 4WDriving skills and a capable vehicle required. 5. One Day Advanced First Aid Course In response to requests for a one-day first aid course tailored to outdoor recreation settings, the following is available from Remote Safety Solutions who also provide the 3 day remote area first aid course previously advertised. The unit applies to workers who may be required to provide, coordinate and manage a first aid response across a range of complex situations, include community and workplace settings. It will be tailored to outdoor recreation settings. What is involved? Completion of pre-course study plus 10 hours practical training including 1 night scenario. Wagga Wagga 4 Wheel Drive Club Club Person of the Year Award The Nominees for Club Person of the Year are: Brenda Moore Brenda has made an outstanding contribution to our Club through: Looking after Club s equipment in the trailer, involved: keeping check on contents of the trailer; replacing items used; making sure it is ready for Club activities; washing, cleaning and maintaining equipment etc. Organising the catering and cooking for Club activities, especially Club formal bush dinner (Cookout), Christmas parties, public Come and Try Day at the quarry and so on. This has involved being the contact person for the event, working out menus and quantities, purchasing food and other supplies, making sure everything is on hand for the event, organising people, supervising preparation, cooking and cleaning, and following up afterwards. Being a proactive and enthusiastic participant in all activities and providing great support for other Club members. For her continual behind the scene work to support the club at events such as the cook-out, come and try days, and Christmas parties. She is also a very good at making new members feel welcome and encourages them to participate in club activities. Michael Salway Michael has made an outstanding contribution to the Club through: Serving on the Club Executive Organising and running numerous activities including: Training in using off-road trailers Training in GPS navigation Running numerous trips Helping with Driver Training Running sessions at public Come and Try Day Paul Kingdom Has carried the Club through the absence of Secretary and Treasurer along with support from his wife Jenny. Always very welcoming and friendly. Very supportive of Club members and activities and great back up. Gives a lot of his time and expertise to trips, activities, working bees and planning. Moderately difficult with some winching and/or towing a possibility. Good 4WDriving skills and a capable vehicle required. 5.
