Thank you, Team GNE The Beast from the East has gone, and the snow has finally cleared but the legacy of the adverse weather has been lasting and I couldn t be prouder of my team you all worked tirelessly to get our passengers safely to their destinations. Despite the arctic temperatures, gale-force winds and thundersnow (who even knew that was such a thing!), we operated services every day during the severe weather and only finished early on two days when conditions became too unsafe what an incredible achievement. While treacherous road conditions meant it was difficult for us to run services to their normal routes, a decision to stick to main roads, rather than attempting to negotiate icy backroads, meant we still provided a 73% reliability rate on the services we ran. I d like to personally thank each and every one of you for keeping our fleet moving and our customers updated. Your continued hard-work and efforts, particularly when faced with very difficult circumstances, was inspiring and truly embodied our vision of journeys taken care of. Up to 2,000 people on the website at a time (usually around 75) Keeping up to date Customer Services and the Service Delivery Centre were at the heart of the action working together providing the latest information to customers. Social media and gonortheast.co.uk saw massive spikes in how many customers were online with 2,000 website visitors at any one time and over 360,000 people being reached on Facebook. The updates were greatly appreciated, which can be seen in the comments in this On the Go special. Well done to everyone who helped out!
