Visa support: Visa is required for almost all nationalities for tours including Russia and only for some fewer nationalities for tours covering EU destinations. We supply visa support complementary. We do not accept any responsibility for guests arriving without valid passport and visa. Number of participants: We allow max 45 guests on the same tour. The average number of guests is around 30-35. For the Baltic Biking and Baltic Hiking tours we allow max 21 guests respectively max 31 guests on the same tour. SPECIAL FEATURES Arrival and departure transfers: Guests can pre-order private arrival and departure transfers. By arrival transfer the guests are met by a driver with a name board reading their surnames in the arrival hall of the airport. Guests should co-ordinate their departure transfer with the tour escort. Welcome letter: On arrival to the hotel the guests receive a personalized welcome letter announcing time and place for the welcome meeting. Welcome meeting: During the welcome meeting the guests are served a welcome drink. The tour escort introduces the program and the optional tours and the guests receive various materials such as a personalized program and information materials. Diplomas for active touring: The participants in the Baltic Biking and Baltic Hiking tours receive a diploma for successfully completing active touring in the Baltic countries at the end of the tour. MORE VALUE Optional excursions and dinners: Our tours come with an extensive choice of optional excursions and dinners. The optional services can be booked in advance or during the tour. The optional excursions feature important highlights not included into the standard sightseeing tours and always include transport, guide service and entrances. The optional dinners are half-board at hotel or special highlight dinners at local restaurants. Dinners at hotels are substantial 3-course set menu or buffet style and include ice-water and coffee/tea. Highlight dinner at local restaurants include a substantial 3-course menu with ice-water and coffee/tea. In some cases alcoholic drinks or live music is included. The highlight dinners at local restaurant include guide and transport, in some few cases the restaurants are within walking distance from the hotel (max 10 min walk) and transport is not included. DAY 2 (WEDNESDAY): KRAKOW For half a millennium Krakow was the royal capital of Poland and for centuries the city walls have guarded its traditions and secrets. DAY 4 (FRIDAY): WARSAW Warsaw is essentially a post-war city with a meticulously reconstructed Old Town. DAY 5 (SATURDAY): WARSAW-MRAGOWA We continue through the well forested North Poland into the Masurian Lakeland, a myriad of postglacial lakes representing some of the most beautiful nature in the whole of Poland. The afternoon excursion of the Masurian Lakeland takes us to the quaint town of Ketrzyn, to the beautiful Baroque church in Swieta Lipka and to the town of Gizycko, surrounded to all sides by the lakes. DAY 6 (SUNDAY): MRAGOWA-VILNIUS Today we continue along the eastern fringe of the Masurian Lakeland with endless blue lakes and attractive resort towns into Lithuania. We do a stop in Kaunas, the former capital of Lithuania, to admire the beautiful Old Town and the elegant white Baroque Town Hall before we arrive in the late afternoon to. Check in at Hotel Radisson Blu Lietuva**** or similar. DAY 7 (MONDAY): VILNIUS is known for its more than 1.200 medieval buildings and 48 churches. The morning sightseeing tour includes a panoramic tour of the city and a walking tour of the Old Town with Cathedral, Gediminas Tower, Peter and Paul Church, St. Anne s Church, Old University and the Gates of Dawn. The afternoon offers an optional excursion to Trakai, the medieval capital of Lithuania, with the well preserved Trakai Castle, beautifully located on an island in Lake Galve. DAY 8 (TUESDAY): VILNIUS-RIGA Heading for, the first stop is the Hills of Crosses, one of the most holy sites of Catholic Lithuania. After crossing into Latvia we soon reach the magnificent Rundale Palace, the former summer residence of the Duke of Courland. Following a guided tour of the palace we travel through the rolling hills of Southern Latvia to reach late afternoon, check-in at Hotel Radisson Blu Latvija**** or similar. DAY 9 (WEDNESDAY): RIGA Before we get acquainted with we have the possibility of discovering medieval Latvia. The optional tour for this morning takes us to the stunning scenery of the Gauja National Park and the town of Sigulda. We listen to the medieval Latvian legend of the Rose of Turaida, and see the ruins of the Episcopal Castle and of the Castle of the Knights of the Sword before we return to. The afternoon offers an optional visit to the Ethnographical Open Air Museum, a spacious exposition of 18th century country life. The evening offers an optional organ concert at the Dome Cathedral. DAY 10 (THURSDAY): RIGA founded in 1201 by the German bishop Albert is the largest of the 3 Baltic capitals and boasts a true kaleidoscope of various architectural styles. The walking tour of the Old Town includes Castle, Dome Cathedral, St. Peter s Church, Swedish Gates, Three Brothers, Large and Small Guild House and the Freedom Monument. The afternoon is reserved for an optional visit to Jurmala, the vibrant Latvian sea resort, famous for its wooden architecture and sandy beaches. DAY 12 (SATURDAY): TALLINN is a charming blend of medieval tranquillity and modern urban life. The walking tour of the Old Town includes Castle, Dome Cathedral, St. Peter s Church, Swedish Gates, Three Brothers, Large and Small Guild House and the Freedom Monument. In the afternoon we continue to Saulkrasti and do a 30 km biking tour to Sigulda, a popular holiday resort. We see the ruins of the Episcopal Castle and the ruins of the Castle of the Knights of the Sword. We continue to Cesis and check-in at Hotel Kolonna Cesis*** or similar. DAY 7: CESIS-TARTU Cesis is a Hanseatic city with winding streets, castle ruins and beautiful gardens. During the morning tour we see the ruins of the Castle of the Livonian Order and St. John s Church. We head to Estonia and the Hanja Nature Park where we do a 30 km biking tour through the national park and around the Munamagi Hill, the biggest hill in the Baltic countries at just 300 m. We continue on to Tartu. Check-in at Hotel Tartu*** or similar. DAY 8: TARTU-LAHEMAA Tartu is the university town, where Estonia gained its statehood. During the morning tour we see the charming Old Town and the University founded in 1632. After the tour we head for Lake Peipus and in the middle of the day we enjoy a 40 km biking tour from Kolka via Kallaste to Raja along the lake. DAY 9: LAHEMAA-TALLINN The day starts with a 45 km biking tour through the Lahemaa National Park from Vihula via Sagadi and Palmse to Kasmu and the Kasmu Peninsula and afterwards we continue to. is a charming blend of medieval tranquillity and modern urban life. The medieval Old Town is a busy place in the summer with its many shops, galleries, souvenir markets, out-doors cafés and restaurants.
