Welcome to Vancouver & PuSh International Performing Arts Festival Vancouver is located on the territories of the Coast Salish Peoples including the Squamish, Musqueum and Tsleil-Waututh. A bustling west coast seaport and among Canada s most dense and ethnically diverse cities. Vancouver is a popular filming location, it s surrounded by mountains, invites outdoor pursuits of all kinds and has a thriving cultural scene. Transiting from the airport Transiting from the airport to downtown Vancouver is very easy. Take the Canada Line from the airport directly to the Vancouver City Centre stop (40 min). Exceeding 1,200 m (4,000 feet) in altitude at its peak, is the site of an alpine ski area, Grouse Mountain Resort, which in the winter season overlooks Greater Vancouver with four chairlifts servicing 26 runs. In the summer, Grouse Mountain Resort features lumberjack shows, a birds of prey wildlife demonstration, a scenic chairlift ride, and a 2.9 km (1.8 mi.) hiking trail known as the Grouse Grind, as well as helicopter sightseeing. Year-round operations include a 100-seat mountaintop theatre and a wildlife refuge. Public access to the mountain top is by a Swiss Garaventaaerial tramway. Granville Island Market See page 9. Queen Elizabeth Park Queen Elizabeth Park, Vancouver s horticultural jewel, is a major draw for floral display enthusiasts and view seekers, and as a popular backdrop for wedding photos. At 152 metres above sea level, it s the highest point in Vancouver and makes for spectacular views of the park, city, and mountains on the North Shore. Lynn Canyon Lynn Canyon Park contains second growth forest with most of the trees aged approximately 80 to 100 years old. The park features a suspension bridge that sways 50 meters above the canyon. It was built privately in 1912 when the park opened. Lynn Canyon also offers a selection of walking and hiking trails that connect to other parks in the region such as Lynn Headwaters, Rice Lake, and Inter River Park.
