Remember many of you have won them over the years at our annual Christmas party's so let's recycle those. Curb Feeler Award Hank Hathaway was the recipient AGAIN this month. As last month's recipient of the prestige's Curb Feeler Award, Hank Hathaway was responsible for selecting another deserving club member for this awesome award. Hank stepped forward at the membership meeting and discussed the many qualified candidates that were considered for this month's recognition. The first candidate made some strange turns on the way to a swap meet. The second member considered was said (hearsay) to have driven their Vet on fresh oil. After careful consideration Hank singled himself out as the first repeat recipient of the coveted Curb Feeler Award. Hank's feat for this months trophy was not reading the instructions for the fuel injector set up he was installing, Hank's misstep required him to start his installation all over. Pathway Home Graduation Several Napa Valley Cruiser members: Mike & Tammy Robinette, Kirk Stafford, Dave & Sandy Silveira and Dan McCabe; along with Golden Hills Mustang Club members: Terry & Ileine Burke & Bill Davis met at the Yountville Community Center for the Pathway Home Graduation on Friday, February 7 th. The Pathway Home provides comprehensive treatment for our Nation's military personnel who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan. They assist those impacted by Post Traumatic Stress (PTS), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and other post-combat mental health challenges to successfully reintegrate into their families and the community at large. This ceremony focused on seven veterans who have completed the program and now are ready to rejoin their families. Guest speakers spoke about the Yountville and Napa communities and how they have really stepped up to support this wonderful program. Executive Director, Fred Gusman, had a story and a theme song for each graduate as he introduced them. Each graduate thanked the community and everyone associated with the
Pathway Home and shared a little about their journey. The packed house gave each one a standing ovation. Although this was not a club event, the Pathway Home is one of this year s charity's for the Main Street Reunion and Golden Hills Mustang Club car shows and we wanted to show our support for these courageous veterans. Reported by Dan McCabe To Mike Royer There once was a fellow named Mike. He is quite mellow and fancies a good hike. The Cruisers know him at campouts, as our fire starter He also cooks the oysters, and provides the sauce that is known as tarter. On our campouts, Mike you really deliver the goods, And by that, I mean, you bring most of the wood. Oh, Mike Royer, for all the wood, please also thank your employer. We are all so glad that you are a gear head, and not perhaps a lawyer. Our campouts sometimes get quite cold, and the situation turns dire. That is when the women will say, Hey Mike, build us a big, hot fire! Mike stacks the wood, and strikes a flame, and boy does he inspire. Well, some of the women, we want to know, Are you for hire? Once he gets that fire roaring, we get hot and we begin to perspire! He keeps us warm late into the night, and one by one we begin to retire. Mike, next year it would be OK if you want to start a new trend, No, we still expect you to build the fire, for that on you we depend. What I mean is you can of course bring someone, perhaps a lady friend. Just be sure and tell this person, make it clear to her, make her aware, That the camp out is all about keeping the cruiser chicks warm, and you she has to share. Mike, what we want to say is simple, Thank you for keeping the fires aflame. Why if this was Major League Baseball, You would be inducted into the Hall of Fame! Christine Butler, Poet
