SPARK September Events Wednesday, September 5 th Prickly Pear Vegetable Workshop COST IS $10.00 SPARK will be heading back out to the Prickly Pear and work with Mona. She will help us start to create our very own planters with vegetables. She has partnered with SPARK to get her nursery up and running and wants us to be a big part of it. Join us for another great event with her. *We will leave City Hall approximately 5:30 pm and have every-one picked up by 6:30pm. Drop offs will be approximately 8:45 pm. TUESDAYS 11 th, 18 th, & 25 th (Dates into October-see next calendar) Practice ONE TIME TRANSPORTATION FEE OF $20.00 for all practices and Tournament. Come and join The Untouchables as we get ready for the ONE & ONLY Special Olympics Bowling Tournament. You must be registered by the first practice or you won t be able to participate. We will have practices on TUESDAYs in September and October. Each athlete MUST complete 6 practices to be eligible for the tournament. *We will leave City Hall approximately 5:30 pm and have everyone picked up by 6:30pm. Drop offs will be approximately 9:45 pm. FRIDAY, September 21 st SPARK Sac County Dance COST IS $5.00. & $8.00 AT THE DOOR. Located at the La Sierra Community Center at 5325 Engle Road Sacramento, Ca. SPARK will be grooving to the music playing at the Sac County Dance. So, bring your dancing shoes and get ready to have some fun! Don t forget to pay at the door. *We will leave City Hall approximately 5:30pm and have everyone picked up by 6:30 pm. Drop offs will be approximately 10:30pm. THURSDAY, September 27th Movie Night COST IS $8.00 Join your SPARK friends at the Community Center to catch a movie and hand out with all of our friends. We will provide light refreshments and a snack. *We will leave City Hall approximately 5:30 pm and have everyone picked up by 6:30pm. Drop offs will be approximately 9:30 pm. Please note: Pick up and drop off times are approximate! Registration fees may reflect transportation, staff fees, snacks (if included), facility use, supplies, entry fees and other cost incurred for planning and programming. August SPARK Highlights Saturday, August 4 th : Day on the Town: Cost $5.00 Join all of your friends as we head out to Folsom, CA and spend a day walking around old town. We will check out all the shops, stop for some food, and have a good time. Be sure to bring some money for anything you might want to by and for food as we will stop and have lunch. *We will leave City Hall approximately 8:00 am and have everyone picked up by 9:00 am. Drop offs will be approximately 1:00 pm. Friday, August 10 th : Tasters Choice: Cost $5.00 West Sacramento has a new pizza spot that has opened up. Join us as we go check out Mod Pizza near IKEA Court. Bring at least $25.00 so you can either create your own pizza and enjoy a soda or a side. They also offer milkshakes as a nice desert when you finish your meal. *Pick ups begin approximately 5:30 pm & Drop off will be approximately 8:30 pm. Friday, August 17th Hot August Nights Dance Cost $5.00 $8.00 (At the Door) Located at the La Sierra Community Center at 5325 Engle Road Sacramento, CA. Let s cruise on down to the Hot August Nights Dance! SPARK will be stylishly cruisin to the Sacramento County Dance. $8.00 is to be paid at the door. Transportation is provided. *Pick ups begin approximately 5:30 pm & Drop off will be approximately 10:30 pm. **Please bring $8.00 to get into the dance. $5.00 should be paid in advance.** Saturday, August 19th Yolo County Fair Cost is $7.00 Located in Woodland, CA, come out and enjoy a day of entertainment, rides, and food at our local Yolo County Fair. Bring money for food, drinks, rides, and games. Don t forget to wear your sunscreen. *Pick ups begin approximately 9:30 am & Drop off will be approximately 2:30 pm. Please note: Pick up and drop off times are approximate! We will be heading to the newest restaurant and karaoke spot in Old Sacramento. Knobs & Knockers specializes in German cuisine and you shouldn t need more than $20.00 to enjoy something new. After we eat we will have the chance to sing a few songs with the best karaoke host in town, Spectra Shine. *We will leave City Hall approximately 7:00 pm and have everyone picked up by 8:00 pm. Drop offs will be approximately 10:00 pm. Tuesday, July 17th : Bowling Night: Cost: $15.00. Located at Capitol Bowl at 900 W. Capitol Ave, West Sacramento, CA. Enjoy an evening of hanging out with friends and hittin bowling pins as we spend the evening at the bowling alley! This is not a part of Special Olympics just getting us ready for the bowling season. *We will leave City Hall approximately 5:30 pm and have everyone picked up by 6:30 pm.
