Inaugurated by H.E. Dr. Fuad bin Jafar Al Sajwani, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, Sultanate of Oman The Second Agro-Food Oman - Agriculture, Fisheries, Food & Halal Products Exhibition along with the World Halal Food Assembly was held from the 7-9 May 2018 at Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre (OCEC). The exhibition was organized under the patronage of the Ministry of Agriculture & Fisheries, Sultanate of Oman and inaugurated by H.E. Dr. Fuad bin Jafar Al Sajwani, Minister of Agriculture & Fisheries and accompanied by Ministry officials, members of the diplomatic forces, media and top business people. The Agriculture and Fisheries sector plays an important role in diversifying the economy of the Sultanate of Oman. The government s economic development policy emphasizes the expansion of non-oil sectors, one being the agriculture and fisheries sector. The expo aims to link the sector as well as the related government organizations with industry experts and suppliers by sharing innovative ideas and solutions to transform the sector, showing the potential involved toward its contribution to the Sultanates growing economy. The exhibition featured over 150 companies locally and internationally, including countries from Belgium, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Iran, Indonesia, India, Italy, Jordan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Lebanon, Qatar, Slovenia, The Netherlands, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, South Africa and many more. After reviewing on-site interviews, post-show questionnaires, media reports and key-persons remarks, from all perspectives, the feedback is that Agro-Food Oman 2018 was a success and is indeed the mandatory platform for doing business in the Sultanate of Oman. From the exhibitors point of view, an important result can be drawn from the 2018 edition. A high-quality attendance kept the halls busy during the three days. The show was successful in drawing more than 4,300 professionals and end-users from Oman, GCC, Middle East and Other countries. The survey shows that 95% of the companies regarded Agro-Food Oman visitors from very good to excellent. This tells a lot about the opportunities that the show offers in terms of business relations and brand exposure, and about the show s quality standards. The majority of the visitors included ministry officials, CEOs and senior managers, agents and distributors; Manufactures and professional buyers were well represented as well. World Halal & Food Assembly Oman, a two-day conference was held along the Agro- Food Oman Exhibition on the 8 & 9 May. The conference featured top international & local speakers from the sector to share their knowledge and discuss on the various challenges faced by the industry. After an overwhelming response in the second edition, Agro-Food Oman 2019 promises to be bigger & better!

Al Nimr had also arranged the Minister of Agriculture & Fisheries to inaugurate the event and give awards to the sponsors. This was truly an encouragement for the companies involved in agri-business.
