Calendar of EVENTS December 11, 2011 Holiday Fireworks The Official Kick-Off of the Manhattan Beach Centennial will begin with a blast on Sunday, December 11, 2011 with the Holiday Firework Show. A beyond spectacular crescendo of fireworks will be displayed in honor of the Centennial. Reserved seating on Manhattan Beach Boulevard will be available on the Centennial website MB100.org. January 29, 2012 Manhattan Village Centennial Carnival Come One Come All to the greatest show in Manhattan Beach as the Village Mall hosts a carnival extravaganza to celebrate the City s 100th Birthday! Enjoy a fun-filled day of face painting, jugglers, caricature artists, games, food and much, much more. Admission is Free. February & March, 2012 Manhattan Beach School Art Contest Students of all ages, K-12 are invited to participate in the Centennial Art Contest. Use any medium you wish to depict a picture of what you love most about Manhattan Beach! One winner will be selected from each grade level. Winners will be acknowledged at the Historic Picnic at Polliwog Park where their art work will be displayed. March 25, 2012 Taste of Manhattan Beach Join us for an evening of fine cuisine from local restaurants, an eclectic display of historic artwork, live music and entertainment. Our Downtown Area will come alive as we host this ticketed event celebrating the tastes and sounds, unique to our seaside community. Come reminisce about our City s past, present and bright future ahead! May 19, 2012 Manhattan Beach Centennial Parade and Historic Picnic Everyone Loves a Parade! The theme of the City s Centennial Parade is 100 Years in Manhattan Beach. Witness this home town event as community organizations, families, and schools join together to create floats, marching bands, and groups of costumed revelers for a day to remember. The parade will culminate at Polliwog Park for an old time picnic and entertainment. July, 2012 MB100 Festival, Downtown Open House, & Pier Event Take a step back in time on this day. Live Oak Park and Valley Drive will be transformed into a concourse style exhibit of decades old automobiles that symbolize California style, Downtown shops will open their doors to displays of historic photos of buildings and businesses that once stood on the main drag and an award ceremony will take place at the pier with its iconic Roundhouse. September 22, 2012 Manhattan Beach Centennial Beach Ball Spend an evening on our famous beach, dance under the stars, dine on local fare and enjoy grand entertainment as the City hosts the Centennial Beach Ball. This unique beach-inspired event will be a once in a hundred year opportunity to indulge in one of our City s most famous legacies, the beach! December, 2012 Holiday Fireworks Why not end where we began with a second spectacular display of holiday fireworks as we wind down our year-long Centennial celebration. MB NEWS Centennial news and events will be highlighted in quarterly publications of the MB News. Each sponsors name will be included in these articles distributed to more than 14,000 households and businesses throughout the City. PRINT MEDIA RECOGNITION Market recognition is priceless. As a Centennial sponsor your business or organization name will appear in all Centennial related media materials. WEBSITE The City s website is the gateway into Manhattan Beach for countless visitors, businesses and residents alike. Recognition of your Centennial sponsorship will be noted on the City website. Centennial Banner Program Centennial Banner Program: $500-$2000 A quick and inexpensive way to get your company name and/ or logo, family name, or group name in a high exposure location while supporting the Manhattan Beach Centennial! For as little as $500, you can have the name and/or logo on this two-sided banner that will hang in one of 85 locations throughout Manhattan Beach. Manhattan Beach Centennial Parade and Historic Picnic May 19, 2012 $100,000.00 Community organizations will be invited to create floats, costumes, and marching groups with a parade theme of 100 Years in Manhattan Beach. The parade will end in Polliwog Park with a picnic celebration including A Walk Through Time historic photo display, food, and entertainment. (1) Reserved table at the picnic for 8. Manhattan Beach Centennial Festival July, 2012 $100,000.00 The Centennial Festival will be held in the downtown area. The event will include a concourse style display of cars from decades that have come to symbolize life in Southern California from woodies to convertibles. The Manhattan Beach Downtown Business Owners will also hold an Open House with historic photos in each of the stores to display the fun history of the buildings, businesses, and history of our wonderful downtown community.
