On your doorstep Suffolk is one of the most beautiful counties in the UK surrounded by 50 miles of glorious coastline and full of charming villages and medieval towns to explore. One of the most popular nearby destinations is the traditional coastal resort of Aldeburgh, famous for its connection with Benjamin Britten and characterised by the rows of 19th century holiday villas lining the promenade. The town has a superb range of independent shops and boutiques to explore as well as famous landmarks including the iconic Martello Tower built to keep the invading Napoleonic armies at bay. Slightly further afield you ll find Ipswich; England s oldest continually inhabited town and home to a cutting-edge arts and culture scene. Christchurch Mansion and the Wolsey Art Gallery holds the most significant collection of Constable and Gainsborough paintings outside of London as well as a historic collection of China.
