Chairman s Opening Remarks (Mark Welstead) The Chairman welcomed everyone to the meeting, he also welcomed Rosemary Wilson a member wishing to transfer to the branch. 7. President s Report (Dave Rees) The President thanked everyone for their support and efforts to make our Remembrance Service such a success. He made special mention of Allan Hodgson, the branch Chaplain, for conducting the service, along with Rev Geoff Hill. Page 1 of 5
8. Secretary s Report (Dave Perry) The Secretary reported he had sent out to members the briefing note from the British High Commission on Brexit and other consular items. He then asked if there were any questions about the briefing. He reported that the Consular services were concerned about the number of British Expats without Passports, also those who still had ARC s (Alien Registration Cards) and had not changed to the MEU11 (yellow slip). 9. Treasurer s Report (Gill Rees) There being no Treasurer there was no report at this meeting. 10. Welfare Representative (Chris Perry) No new cases at present. 11. The following amount was paid out of the 2016/17 Poppy appeal: 14 Oct Printing & Laminating 45.75 12 Nov Service of Remembrance Costs 1,142.16 23 Nov Sent to the Poppy Appeal in London 10,062.19 23 Nov Sent to Larnaca to be retained for Welfare 1,500.00 TOTAL OUTGOINGS - 12,750.10 3. Income Outgoings TOTAL REMAINING - 311.75 The Target for the 2016/17 Poppy Appeal was 11,050.23 We have so far raised for the 2016/17 Poppy Appeal 11,873.74 So we have already beaten our target by 823.71 4. Please Note the costs regarding the Remembrance Service: Outgoings 1,187.91 Income 2,481.42 Profit for the Poppy Appeal 1,293.51 Thank You to everyone who has contributed thus far. 5. Membership at present standing at 48 + 3 pending. 13. Fund Raising Organiser s Report (Ruth Neighbour) 14 th December 2016, Ladies Lunch, cancelled. Social Event Organiser s Report (Helen Caplan) Christmas Dinner, we ideally, would like bookings by Monday 12 th December, but no later than Wednesday 14 th December. 17 December 16 Xmas Dinner Saturday 7.00 for 7.30pm 15. Any Other Business The branch year plan was looked at and amended where we found dates for meetings and functions could be combined. It was discussed and decided that there was no need for a branch committee meeting between Christmas and New Year therefore the planned committee meeting on the 29 th December was cancelled. 16. Points for Next Meeting Nothing was raised that required answers at the next meeting. 17. Date of Next Meeting Branch General Meeting 8 th January 2017 3.00 for 3.30pm at Neo s.
