Our camp office is open every day from 8:00 am 5:30 pm. If you require immediate assistance before or after office hours, please contact Director Andreas Lindberg at farmingdale@fscamps.com. Summer Schedule: Future Stars Summer Camps operate for 8 weeks from June 29 August 21. Please note that we will be open on Friday, July 3! Future Stars Summer Camps take place primarily at Nold Hall, where the Future Stars Camp Offices are located and on the surrounding collegiate fields. Additional driving directions and campus information can be found at www.fscamps.com, under locations Farmingdale State College. Drop Off & Pick Up: Arrival & Departure Please drop off campers any time between 8:45am-9:00am. We offer curbside drop-off in front of Nold Hall, the athletic Center, or parents can park and walk their campers into the building. End of day pickup is at 4:00pm and all parents must park and sign campers out each day with the program director. Early drop off and late pick up are both at Nold Hall, where parents will park and sign campers out. Farmingdale Future Stars Parent Guide 2015 - Page 4
Camper Lunch: Lunch, Snacks, Water Park All lunches are refrigerated or stored in iced coolers. Please make sure you pack a drink for your camper and place lunch in a brown lunch bag or insulated bag that is clearly labeled with your camper s name and group. All campers eat in the air-conditioned student union building. Campers can also enroll to purchase lunch for an additional $50 a week. Every day these campers will have a selection of both hot and cold food stations and beverage. Daily Menus will be available online - starting June 29th - from the Aramark s campus website - farmingdale.campusdish.com Special dietary needs are gladly accommodated, including Kosher, vegetarian and gluten-free options. If you have any questions regarding food services please contact Aramark s Director Joe Sacco at saccoj@farmingdale.edu or at (631) 293-2778. Snacks & Hydration: We provide an afternoon snack for each camper. We offer ices, as well as other snack items. We encourage campers to drink water throughout the day, and maintain water stations in each activity area. Please send your child with a morning snack, if desired. Water Park: Future Stars campers have exclusive use of the Future Stars Water Park. Our amazingly-fun water park features a double Big Kahuna water slide, a double-lane slip n slide, sprinklers and a dunk tank and new additions for 2015. All campers have the option to visit the water park daily. Campers should bring a bathing suit, towel and flip-flops / water shoes each day. Farmingdale Future Stars Parent Guide 2015 - Page 5
Switching Programs: Program switches can be made subject to availability. Availability is typically based around program enrollment and/or staffing ratios. Please request program switches as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Note- If you are unsure as to your camper s schedule for the summer, please contact the Future Stars Camp Office or log in to your account at https://futurestars.campintouch.com. Adding Weeks: You can add camp weeks during the summer. We recommend you contact the Future Stars Camp Office to make the necessary arrangements. Weeks added after June 1 are not eligible for discounts. Some programs do sell out, prior to and over the course of the summer. So please look to register early to avoid disappointment. Camp Permit Info: Future Stars Summer Camps are permitted to operate by the Suffolk County Department of Health. The camp is inspected twice yearly and copies of permits can be obtained by written request from the Suffolk County Department of Health. Tax ID: Adding Weeks / Camp Leadership Many parents request our tax ID for dependent care accounts or for other tax purposes. Our Tax ID number is 20-1905915. Camp Leadership: Please call the camp office with any questions or concerns about your camper, so that we may promptly & appropriately direct your call: (631) 609-0438. Program Directors will not be able to return calls during the course of the camp day. However, our office staff will relay messages and directors can get back to you, as requested. Eyeglasses: Campers engage in sports that could lead to broken eyeglasses. Please have your child wear safety glasses designed for use in a sports environment, as required. Future Stars is not responsible for damage to eyeglasses. Electronics: We strongly suggest you do not send your child to camp with electronic items, such as phones or gaming devices.. Future Stars will not be held responsible for loss or damage to these items, either at camp or on the bus. Earrings: Important Medical Notes Earrings: Campers should not engage in sports while wearing earrings. Medication: Medications should be dropped off at the camp office prior to the start of your campers session. Medications need to be clearly labeled with a pediatricians note. Medications must be in a prescription bottle with dosage and directions on it. Medications cannot be packaged by parents. Our camp health director Dan Haworth is available to answer any questions with regard medication. Please contact the camp office to schedule a call and/or meeting. Medical Care: We have an on-site health director who is an EMT and head of Sports Medicine at Farmingdale State College. Additional health designees are also on staff who are certified athletic Trainers and/or American Red Cross certified. All health staff are certified in accordance with required Suffolk County Department of Health Standards. Medical Forms: All campers MUST have an approved camper health form on file that is signed by a parent or guardian, and includes a copy of immunization history. Camper health form and copy of most recent physical can be submitted and must be from within the last year. Campers without an approved camper health form on file WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE. This is in accordance with both Suffolk County Department of Health and Farmingdale State College guidelines. Sunscreen: Use of sunscreen is highly recommended. Please apply it on your child each morning. If you would like our coaches to re-apply sunscreen, please send in a note requesting this, as well as a labeled container in your child s bag. Labeling Items: Future Stars is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Please label items with your camper s first and last name. Labeled items will be returned to the camp office and families will be contacted. If your child is missing something, please call the camp office and we will do our best to locate the item.
