A day tour of the Breacon Beacons National Park visiting Castell Coch a medieval castle and the first great photo opportunity of the day. Following lunch in Brecon town visit the 900 year old Brecon Cathedral and Caerphilly Castle, constructed in the 13th Century, before returning to Cardiff. The Gower Peninsula, Arthur s Stone and Swansea After boarding your luxury coach at 9.00am you will travel via the beautiful coastal route to Swansea and the first stop at the Swansea National Waterfront Museum. The museum deals with Wales history of industrial revolution and innovation by combining significant historical artifacts with modern technologies, such as interactive touchscreens and multimedia presentation systems. After the museum you will be taken to Mumbles Village for lunch followed by a tour of the Gower Peninsula including Langlands Bay, Caswell Bay and Rhosilli Bay. If time allows there is the opportunity to leave the coach and walk between two of them. The coach also stops at Arthur s Stone a neolithic burial ground. Its name comes from a legend that the ancient British King Arthur threw a large stone from Llanelli which landed on this spot. The tour will conclude back in Cardiff between 5 and 5.30pm. BLAENAVON, BRECON NATIONAL PARK AND BIG PIT MINING MUSEUM Big Pit National Coal Museum is an industrial heritage museum in Blaenavon, Torfaen, South Wales. A working coal mine from 1860 to 1980 when it was opened to the public as a museum. The Blaenavon Ironworks opened in the year 1789, production at the North Street ironworks ceased completely during the early 1900s and the site became used as a maintenance yard for the Blaenavon Company s collieries and steelworks. The site was earmarked for demolition in 1970 but fortunately the site was taken into state care in 1974 and was saved for the nation. Also contained within the Ironworks complex, and the setting of the BBC Coal House series, are Stack Square and Engine Row. The Brecon Beacons National Park lies on the border between Mid Wales and South Wales. It s home to waterfalls, forests, market towns and the highest peak in southern Britain. WORLD HERITAGE TOUR BATH & STONEHENGE Taking advantage of the natural hot spring, the Roman Baths in Bath, Somerset date back to the 1st century AD and are the most well-preserved ancient temple and baths in Northern Europe. Carry on to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Stonehenge and view what s left of the mysterious prehistoric ring of stones. CHEDDAR GORGE AND CIDER TOUR Today might be a good day to take some Berocca. After being picked up at 9am your luxury coach will take you to the Cheddar Gorge, the biggest gorge in Britain, for an Open Top Bus through the Gorge. Stopping for lunch at the end of the tour. Have a hearty lunch because we are then off to a Cider Farm tour or Pub tasting of the district s famous local product.
