Introduction 1- Introduction Dear Mayor and Council members: As is customary and required by law, the Park and Police 4 Kids Foundation (P&P 4 Kids) herewith presents its 5th semi-annual report. The P&P 4 Kids Foundation was founded on February 5th 2007, as a charitable non profit organization whose mission is to protect and nurture every member of our community by creating programs and activities that will have a positive impact on their lives, but especially the children of this community, not only in their immediate present, but also in their future endeavors. This year, we have been experiencing more than ever, unwanted activities in our local schools. Part of the reason could be originating from the recent budget cuts that have taken place in the Miami-Dade County School Board and their lack of proactive vision. The Park and Police 4 Kids Foundation Board of Directors believes that we should be proactive and invest in our children s future. As we all know, it is less expensive and more effective to prevent than it is to remedy, if indeed there is a remedy.

Programs & Objectives 2011-2012 & 2012-2013 School Years 2.1- Programs P & P 4 Kids Foundation is focused on long-term projects that will continue through the years for the enjoyment and benefit of this community. P&P 4 Kids Foundation is also embracing selected city programs organized by the City of Doral Police and Park Departments that it considers fundamental for the development and well-being of all Doral citizens. P & P 4 Kids Foundation believes that we should be pro-active and invest in our children s future. It is more feasible and cost-effective to prevent than to remedy. This year we expect to create, adopt, and continue supporting all activities that will have a direct impact on our children and that will help our community come together. We believe, now more than ever, that we must reach out to our residents, and specially our youth, with the following programs: CURRENT PROGRAMS: City of Doral School Outreach Program at EBT (2011-2013) City of Doral Golf Program (Introduction to Golf-part of the Outreach Program) Doral Middle School 2009-2010; 2010-2011; 2011-2012 Eugenia B. 2011-2012 Closing Statement 6- Closing Statement As stated before, we are experiencing new problems due to the recent School Board and Municipal budget cuts, problems such as: gangs, drug consumption and distribution, theft, vandalism, to name a few; problems that probably sooner than later will reach our city and have a negative impact on our schools and; therefore, our community. If these problems are not addressed timely and appropriately, we may be placing the future of our children, students, residents and city at risk. We all know we cannot depend on the School Board nor the County to resolve our problems. That is why we, the Doral Parks & Police 4 Kids Foundation embrace and support The City of Doral Police Department and The City of Doral Park and Recreation Department programs and activities and hope that you the Council, as governing body, would also support and finance all current and future programs as they are crucial in keeping Doral as: The Premier Place to Live, Learn, Work and Play. Thank You!
