Our destination for the day will be to the small pueblo, Santa Maria (1,550m/ 4691ft). along our journey we will pass picturesque rolling hills and snow-capped peaks of the Vilcanota Mountain Range. We will have opportunities to take some pictures along the way as well, bicycle from the Abra de Malaga Pass(4,350/14271ft), it makes all the difference. The 3 hour downhill ride is exhilarating and relaxing at the same time, and will not be soon forgotten, when we finally arrive, we will have some free time to rest and them we do the river rafting activity that last 2 hours approx, we pass the night in this small village. Bus Travel Time: 4 hours Approximate Biking Time: 3 hours Approximate Biking distance: 55 km Difference of height : 4350 Malaga pass-1430m Day 02: SANTA MARIA INKA TRAIL COCALMAYO SANTA TERESA We will begin the day s trekking after having an energy packed breakfast. We will now be entering the outer jungle, easily recognised by the flora and fauna that we will see. Walking through the tropical forest, the gorgeous sorroundings will provide us with many photo opportunities. We will even have a chance to visit a local Coca Plantation on the way. At the highest point of the trail, we will come across an old Inka Trail, which is long out of use. at last, when we arrive to Santa Teresa, we have to opportunity to immerse ourselves in the naturally heated waters of the mineral enriched Hot Baths located there. the baths are soothing and detoxifying for the mind, body
and spirit. We will able to relax there until it is time for us to leave for dinner. Afterwards, we will enjoy a much welcome sleep. Approximate Walking Time: 7 hours Approximate walking distance: 14 kms Difference of height : 1430-2100- 1500 m Day 03: SANTA TERESA HIDROELECTRICA AGUAS CALIENTES we will begin at 6:30 am with an energertic breakfast. (Zip Line extra tour 40 USD) Today will be in an even more tropical climate as we draw nearer to the ancient city. We will walk for approximately 5 6 hours by the truck road to a Hydro-Electric Power Plant, where there is a sacred ceremonial site, IntiHuatana waiting for us, from here, we will get to Aguas Calientes by trekking by the rail way,once we arrive in Aguas Calientes, we will immediately transfer to our hotels for the night. this night we will share a dinner with our guide as he briefs us on the next day s plans before going to sleep. Approximate Walking Time: 3 hours Approximate Zip line Activity: 2 ½ hours Approximate walking distance: 12 kms Day 04: MACHUPICCHU CUSCO We will leave our hotel after breakfast at 5:30 am and head for Machu Picchu (2400m/7874f) by tourist bus. We wiil arrive at the citadel around 6 :00am. After a guided tour around the archeological site, including information about life and culture of the Incas, you will have enough time to enjoy Machu Picchu and Wayna Picchu
(2800m/9022f) on your own. We will leave Aguas Calientes by train and the a bus from ollantaytambo to Cusco. However, you will have time to have lunch in one of the nice restaurants. Moreover, you can visit the hot springs in Aguas Calientes to relax a bit. IMPORTANT: (1) Visit to Huayna Picchu: For Huayna Picchu mountain requires to be booked long time in advance however we charge additional 50.00 USD and then we ll guarantee your entrance for Huayna Picchu as well (This new State law began since the 18th of July, 2011). (2) From the first t day (from Abra Malaga to Santa Maria) we are accompanied by our bus that will carry all our equipment and the customer s private luggage, and the next days we have to carry our equipment and back packs. (3) Hotels: We normaly work with Hotel 3***, Hotel 5***** available on your request. (4) Tips for porters, cooks and guides are always welcome. The porters are also very grateful for a small donation, for example clothes or school equipment for their children.
